He would be, but unless the Commodes (my buddy is a Washington fan and that’s what he calls them) pay part of his salary, he’s due to make at least $15M. I assume MPJ would get at least $20. I can’t see Ballard paying two WRs that much. He’d rather get a draft pick.

We were one game over with Minshew (the human roller coaster) at QB, not having JT for a lot of games, a defensive backfield that was extremely inexperienced, and limited weapons at WR. I know a lot of it has to do with the schedule, but the takeaway should be that we must have really solid coaching.

That's should be the take away. They have the QB and apparently a great coach. We (well, most of us) think we have a great coach. We hope we have the QB. It's going to be a fun division again. No longer will it be the gift that keeps on giving come schedule time.

Let's face it, the only high priced FA's Ballard is going to sign (I hope) are MPJ, Kenny and Grove. We may get a few roll players, and as others have said, secondary depth and experience is a must. The draft may give us 2 impact players if we're lucky. And even though we had a lot of sacks, is there one guy that the D's have to worry about on the edge? So I'm hoping we get an edge rusher. Speed is needed on offense. There are a few really good WRs that will be there at our pick. And, I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be upset if we took a QB early in the draft. I love AR, I love his potential, but there are two things we really don't know about him - durability and accuracy. Too small of a sample size IMHO.

As far as weather (depending when) not looking too bad. GB could be the worst, NE maybe too. Giants and Jets possibly, but the Jersey weather doesn't normally get too bad. We end up third in our division, right? I think I'm seeing the same thing. DeMarco Ryans deserves the award. Almost everyone picked Houston to have one of the worst records in the league. As far as play calling, I'm starting to agree with everyone here who knows better. All plays should be called either for MPJ or JT. No one else needs to be involved.

My final word for all the - you give the ball to your playmakers… Why not do that every play then? Maybe it’s because the D is keying on them? Look, bottom line is it was a good call, Minshew (or any kid from high school) can make that pass if they don’t rush it. And let’s not forget, he wasn’t going to score on that play.

I’ll second that. How did Troy put it before the game? Minshew is a roller coaster.

What’s the other factor in those two plays? Wide open MAC and Goodson?

This is getting ridiculous. Does anyone think they ran a play yesterday that they didn’t run over and over in practice? The deep shot to Cox was done to creat a mismatch. It worked. He was open. I guarantee final play was run with that personnel group because he was the best RB receiver. Easy pass, again Minshew threw a bad ball. But it is good to know so many here are better play callers than our head coach. You never know when Shane is going to come to the forum for his next game plan! Carry on.

I get what you’re saying. But don’t you think that play was run in practice with Goodson? He’s the receiving back. If it’s Taylor or Moss, do they catch it?

We won 9 games with Minshew and rookies playing in the D backfield. the future looks bright to me.

Here’s the real takeaway- CJ is really good. They are going to be the team to beat in the division next season.

It was an easy pass and catch. High schoolers make it. Bad pass, but still should have been caught. Good play.

What was wrong with the call? He was open. Minshew rushed the throw.
