  1. Bert Jones won league MVP and league Offensive Player of the Year awards, though, which labelled him as BEST amongst his peers, as well as 2 time All-Pro. Both Bert Jones and Andrew Luck would’ve been HOFers, if not for their careers being cut short due to injuries. To me, HOF can’t look at just the “stats”. It’s more about being amongst the very best of your peers, with longevity. Someone like Plunkett, though leading the Raiders to SuperBowls was NEVER considered amongst the best QBs during his playing days. That is why he is not in the HOF.
  2. Honestly, I think Reich absolutely SUCKS as an offensive play designer. Like I said, I was at Carolina’s season opener in Atlanta, and I was likely running about 80% correct in calling his unimaginative play calls. Just So happy he’s no longer running the Colts. I swear he still thinks it the 80s in Offensive game style.
  3. IPhone ALWAYS seems to change were to we’re by default. I suspect that is what happened, not that he knowingly used the wrong word.
  4. When they chose Pierce, I was wanting Skyy Moore. Still to be determined between those two.
  5. I wouldn’t say they’re at the wrong positions, I’d say that the Colts have simply failed to ALSO get studs at the RIGHT positions. Though, for the record, as you acknowledge, as much as I currently am down on him, JT is / was one of the right positions. JT’s greed has undermined that, though. And so many of the WRs have so far been misses too, unfortunately. Hopefully Downs will be a hit, though, and next year a true WR stud can be had. And hopefully the DE’s will finally develop. And maybe hit on a CB next year, too. The thing is, to me Ballard has taken a lot of swings at the right positions, but he and the scout staff settled on the wrong prospects. The one that still irks me the most still is Parris Campbell instead of DK Mercalf. I was quite disappointed in Pierce instead of Skyy Moore as well, though Moore has not yet emerged really, either. I like the last 4 TE choices. I think out of that group, at least one will really emerge. And in this last draft, I wanted them to draft Cody Mauch to insert at RG, but instead they good CB Brents. Time shall tell on that one.
  6. If I am Rush, looking at how questionable the Colts secondary is, I would choose to sign on with the Colts practice squad. I’d like my odds of getting a call up to the active roster.
  7. I very much agree with taking the FG, just not so sure about burning a timeout to try and draw them offside.
  8. And the 3 turnovers loomed large. A few less mistakes and the game was there for the taking.
  9. I truly believe this will be an indicator of just what to expect from the Colts this year. If they can’t even beat the Texans, then I think we are indeed in for a VERY looooong year. It’s not like we’re playing an established team with Mahomes at QB. Texans were even worse than the Colts last year, when the Colts were meant to be the significantly better team, comparatively. One year removed, why should the Colts be worse than the Texans? Will be HUGELY disappointing if the Colts don’t win. Oh, and for the record, upon finally watching the Colts’ opener, I was actually quite impressed. I thought the Colts show good promise. Gotta get the RB and WR positions sorted, though. My prediction, Colts win.
  10. I finally watched the game … and I thought he was impressive, even if the stats don’t show it.
  11. Unspectacularly steady. That being said, his big touchdown vs Jaguars showed explosiveness I had never seen nor expected from him. Hope he exceeds my expectations.
  12. $35M-ish is calling as reason for him to come back next year. As a football fan in general, though, what a drag this injury is. All the hype and hope, down the tubes after only 4 plays. Sheesh.
  13. I haven’t yet seen the Colts game, but I was at the Falcon’s game and saw, yet again, Reich’s folly of opting to go for it on 4th down after a good early drive, instead of taking the easy 3 points. This idiocy was my biggest complaint during the Reich years and it is sad to hear that Steichen (& so many coaches nowadays) all too often make this same error. Early in a game, after a decent drive, you HAVE to take the 3 points so you have something to show for it! To not do so kills the early momentum, uplifts the other team, & ALL TOO OFTEN, the 3 points end up being the difference in the game. Take the damn FG!
  14. It was classic Reich early, opting for a ridiculous 4th down gamble instead of taking the easy FG to go up 3 straight away. He hasn’t learned a damn thing about not giving away points early and gifting teams momentum swings.
  15. I was at the Atlanta game. Thank goodness Reich is no longer Colts coach. His offensive plan was same old same old predictable vanilla. It was actually laughable. Sad Colts lost. Will have to watch it on delay. Sounds like there was promise, though.
  16. 1. To blame, 99.9% Taylor & his agent. 2. Assuming he is not traded straight away, yes, he’ll play. To not play is another step down the road of career suicide. 3. Not being Indy local, tough for me to definitively answer, but based on what I’ve read, the media is unreasonably player biased. 4. Assuming Taylor end up playing & shows himself to be the All-Pro caliber JT, absolutely sign him to a reasonable 3 year contract, or if failing that, tag him. 5. I am in favour of the let JT play out his 4th year mantra. Only thing I don’t like so much is that Irsay tweeted about the RB situation. Wish it had been 100% closed mouth. In the end, my opinion of mgmt. is not skewed, though, so opinion the same. 6. 100% my opinion of JT has nose dived. He was my favourite Colt and I was banging the drum for JT before the Colts even drafted him. I thought JT might emerge as the Colts best RB ever. Now, because of his malcontent and lack of contract integrity, he has gone from my favourite to most loathed Colt. I absolutely HATE how he & his agent have handled this. I am not even sure he can be redeemed in my eyes. I hope so, but I am dubious. Just so, SO disappointed in him. I think he is on the verge of utterly ruining his career, and if he keeps up this whaaa whaaa RBs are so hard done by trade me attitude, then screw him, I hope his career never recovers. I have never in my 56 years of being an NFL & Colts fan been so disappointed in a player.
  17. Unrelated, if the Colts only win one game this season, it has to be against the Reich led Carolina Panthers!
  18. On Sirius XM Moving the Chains, both Pat Kirwin and Jim Miller picked the Colts for last in the division, with Jim Miller adding he has trouble seeing the Colts winning more than 2 games. I honestly have trouble seeing the Colts losing more games than last years dreadful season and I am fingers crossed hopeful that AR greatly exceeds expectations for this season. Go Colts!
