I started watching sports in the mid to late 70's as a young kid. Been a Colts fan since 1984 when they moved to Indianapolis, been a Pacers fan since the late 70's, and been a Cubs fan since 1984 as well when I first started watching them on WGN. Those are my 3 favorite teams in each sport. Championships in my lifetime as a diehard fan of these teams I have been able to celebrate are the 2006 season Colts SB win and the 2016 Cubs World Series win. My favorite Pacers moment was when the Pacers beat the Knicks 4-2 in the ECFinals to advance to the NBA Finals in 2000, won Game 6 at NY. The 2000 Pacers won the Eastern Conference Championship.
My Top 3 favorite players of all-time regarding each of these sports are:
Peyton Manning (Colts)
Reggie Miller (Pacers)
Kris Bryant (Cubs)
-Magic Johnson is a 1b regarding basketball (Lakers). I loved watching him play growing up. He was magical! The Lakers winning a Back to Back Championship in 1988 was something I thought was neat because no other NBA Basketball team had done it since 1969. At that time, I was only 16 but thought Magic was the greatest player I have ever seen. He just did things that were unreal and was a great leader.
My top 3 favorite TV shows of all-time are:
1. The Simpsons, Homer rules (they are rated the 2nd all-time TV show by Rolling Stone). Homer is as strong as the Hulk and is the smartest guy in the room but nobody knows it.
2. Columbo (it is rated the 45th all-time TV show by Rolling Stone). Underrated TV series. I would have that in my Top 20. It lasted a long time and there will never be another Peter Falk.
3. Jack Reacher - I would recommend this to anyone that loves action and drama. Season 1 gets a grade of A from me. Season 2, I gave it a B+ , it was still very good.
My Best accomplishment since I have been on this website:
Being Co-Champs on our Weekly Pick'em Thread during the 2023 season. 10 Posters participated in it. 18 weeks of picking every game before they are played = 272 total games. It was tiring after a while, if you missed picking a game it was a loss - so it was time consuming, a lot of strategy had to go into it, and a lot of smart football minds were going at it all season. I went 173-99 = 63.6% to earn a share of the Championship. Another Poster went 173-99 as well, and 1 other went 171-101. It was a battle.
Sports is pretty much my life outside of work. I love to spend time with my mom. I am 5'8 180 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes. 2 great accomplishments in my life are getting a 4-year Business degree from IUPUI when I was in my 20's and running/jogging the Mini-Marathon in 2 hours flat which was 13.3 miles back in 2006.
People often ask me who do I think are the top 5 QBs of all-time, as of February 21st, 2024, I would say:
1. Tom Brady
2. Joe Montana
3. Peyton Manning
4. Pat Mahomes
5. Johnny Unitas
-Pat Mahomes is now officially on my Mt Rushmore.
