The only spot that makes me a little concerned is backup at 1 Tech

I dont see one on this roster

We have a list of 3 tech / DEs hybrids

But no one that fits as a backup to Grover

At the end of the game Grover will be gassed...... and these hybrids may have a huge problem stopping the run

The club is banking on Cowart while hoping Johnson grows into that role. Cowart at one time was the #1 ranked recruit in the nation before he bottomed out at Auburn and then partly redeemed himself with the Terps. Missed all last season after an ok 2020. Not sure what we got here, time will tell.

Lindsay if god forbid anything happens to JT becomes the lead ball carrier.

Coutee if Campbell goes down our only true slot

Williams if Cowart and Johnson dont play well can spell Grove

Brown can play nickel if needed

Not sure other can help much this year:

Brooks needs to refine run stopping by adding power and down the line should help

Price if he improves s.t. can move to active roster easily enough

I like Coutee (ST and slot) for depth. Lindsay too.

Williams is OK for a true NT IMO.

I need to see the D scheme!!.

I'm sure not many people care about this really, but I'm curious if anyone knows why the Colts don't seem to update the roster on the website anymore for any height/weight changes right before each season like they used to. The last known change I can find for adjustments was Sept. 2020. Things like Blackmon being listed at 187 (his combine weight when he was injured), but playing at 202 lbs last year or Lewis last year stating he was down in the mid-260s to play more end, or Yannick playing closer to 232 lbs and Leonard stating on Hard Knocks that he plays at 220 now. None of these have been updated in a couple of years when I know players are playing at different weights and even have different heights listed on the active roster that was put out last year. I'm always intrigued by these changes as it can indicate if a player is going to play a different role in a new defense like we have this year. Really wish the team's own website would update for these.
