This is not my list......Its a past poster...but I have had this list challenged in off board debates

Of the Colts who started the Super Bowl in 2009...

..exactly how many started opening day of 2011

DEFENSE

Jacob Lacey

Melvin Bullett

Antwan Bethea

Gary Brackett

Robert Mathis

Dwight Freeney

Phillip Wheeler (I believe)

Antonio Johnson (this is the one I'm not sure about)

OFFENSE

Ryan Diem

Jeff Saturday

Reggie Wayne

Dallas Clark

Joe Addai

Pierre Garcon

NOT INCLUDED:

Austin Collie and Donald Brown (who were not listed as starters in the Super Bowl)

Pat Angerer, Kavell Conner and Anthony Costanzo (who were still in college)

..and Adam Vinateri..who was injured...

Is this list correct? Do we REALLY still have 14 starters (minus the old country boy) from the Super Bowl team?

Cant the person who made this post originally (or anyone) fact check this ?

here

From that list going into 2012

the only starters that are NOT free agents

Peyton Manning

Joseph Addai

Austin Collie

Dallas Clark

Dwight Freeney

Gary Brackett

Jerraud Powers

Jacob Lacey (RFA??)

Melvin Bullitt

Antoine Bethea

Antonio Johnson

I glanced over it quickly so I may have forgotten some

so 11/22 starters

10/22 not counting Manning

8/22 that were not on IR last year

..so the number of players who started the Super Bowl and who started the 2011 season is 14

..not counting Collie and Brown (who didnt start the Super Bowl)

and Peyton Manning (who didnt start the 2011 season).

The number is 14 or 15 with Wheeler, right? Did Phillip Wheeler start the Super Bowl?

well it depends, do you mean from opening day 2011 or any time in 2011?

I dont know about 2009 SB starting roster but my guess is 17

17 out of the 22 2009 roster that started at any point are still on the current roster.

Take into account free agency and that number is cut in nearly half.

True.........but its starters..that is the technical point

(Brown and Collie dont technically count as they didnt start the SB) and Brackett..Johnson, (who I know may never return due to his injury) Bethea didnt finish the 2011 season but they did start it....so the number is 15.

Forget starters there's not much difference, its basically the same team. We don't have Brock or Session and now we have Sims, Hughes, Angerer, Nevis, Thomas, and Rucker. There's not much difference except depth.

and the fact that this past seasons colts played worst then they did in 09. lol

    • Good video from a NYK/Colts fan(post game 7)         Agree with what is said here, Haliburton has to come out and stay aggressive, he knows it and admitted it twice, last series. So hopefully he stays that way. We can take this series easy, we can also lose it easy. So they have to show up, no disappearing from here on out.
    • I've actually bitten my dog a few times. Each time was to correct him from biting my (at the time) 3 year old son. Took the dog and bit him on the ear, not enough to damage but enough to show what the pain felt like. He's pretty smart, as he's yet to do it again with my kids.    Why am I saying this? Because I woke up with nausea, took some meclizine for my dizziness and now I'm just randomly thinking thoughts...
    • Been having an on going conversation with a bunch of people throughout the year and even prior about what the Pacers need.     I think the answer is clear, we need to keep as many core pieces together and keep building. We are in the conference finals and have just as good a chance as the other 3 teams have to finish the title run.   We will be getting Mathurin back, who I think is the 4th most important piece we have. Walker is going to be a stud, so I expect a big jump from him.   Pascal - gotta bring him back Toppin - have to bring back or use in S+T for George?(Just throwing out a name) McDermott - hopefully bring him back on the cheap contract (2yr $10m or something)     Jalen Smith - has player option(I'm good either way)   Then some 2way and back the roster guys who will likely be resigned.(Wong, Brown, Tshiebwe)     If we lose Toppin, who is a RFA, I think Walker can in all likelihood cover that role and probably more completely.   However like I said above, if we can draw another big name like George in, Toppin more than likely would have to be included for salary purposes in a S+T.       Anyway that's conversation for later.   On to:
    • There were some stuff on other sites, not this one. Especially the morning after. I was speaking from a high level general overview,  not limited to this one site.  Sorry for the confusion
