I know Frank Gore can run...if they'd block better

If by better you mean at all. Indy is just...ugh.

At least the pass protection was better tonight, but unfortunately that's been an anomaly for the past eight years instead of the norm. Plus, we were playing JAX. Hopefully they don't revert to the sieve next game and get Hasselback/Luck killed.

Oakland can keep Del Rio.

Denver's defense pretty much went from zeroes to heroes.

Cnat debate it, Moose.....other than Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett..these are the same rushers Denver had last year when the rush tired as he game went on.

Now the rush gets strong as the game goes longer.

Got to run the bal on Denver to win

Great to see Teddy B talking to manning for more than just a moment after the game..

...Vikes wont play Denver again until after Peyton retires.. I think he knows that Bridgewater...has talked about modeling his game after manning...

Well, he certainly doesn't run like Peyton. That's a compliment by the way.

It's a good thing for Denver that the D has played like it has or they'd be 0-4. The offense is a shell of what it used to be with the losses of Moreno, Julius Thomas, Welker and Decker over the years on top of a heavily regressed PM.

They are discussing over on the Denver boards if Kubes will sit Manning for Brock at some point soon. I doubt it but a game like this is going to get the chatter louder.

Tedy has to be smarter at the end there and just dump the ball off. They only need about 15 yards to get in FG and every play he was looking for the home run.

Yup. And apart from a jail break run by AP, by FAR the best back in the game, Denver's run D is still solid even with the loss of Potroast.

The Pats will still put up 30+ on Denver through the air, so Denver really needs to crank it up on offense to some degree. Peyton can't spot them 10 points either.

4 games in and it's obvious the "run game" will only hinder Denver.Their best hope is the Bears shop out Forte and they can grab him for a year or two to, possibly, go from bad to fair at running. The blocking is what it is. The 1/100 times you break for a TD isn't worth the 99/100 times you gain 2-3 yards at best. Although they did break out a few longer runs tonight like a 13 yarder and a few 6-7's plus the 80 yard TD. Honestly, with a decent back, those others could have been TD's too.  If you so much as sneeze on a Denver back they go down.

Ifs Ifs Ifs....Julius Thomas was always injured in Denver and he hasn't played a down this year. Wes has retired.

The 'shell' is 4-0..

.and they'll be 6-0 when Green bay comes in next month

Peyton almost lost this game for the Broncos. He finds a way to turn it over even when things are going his team's way.

He's looking like an old man struggling to make those quick outs doing it out of muscle memory instead of having a good feel for it and zipping it.

Vikings will challenge the Packers in that division, no doubt.

He had a rookie RT and he had no time....Cant keep throwing short or they jump the route (see Peyton)

Bench?. There are lots of nonsensical comments on message boards (?)

Kubiak and Manning are in it together....and they are 4-0..amnd don't think Kubiak isn't Ok with that

Peyton won the game fro the Broncos when it was 20-20.

He moved them 55 yards when it counted.....The old man is 4-0

Moreno, Thomas, Welker and Decker? Seriously???

You said all 4 were wildly overrated when they were in Denver. Right?

He had plenty of time the last two possessions and he just held the ball. Have to just dump it when you are at mid-field. He had two guys, including AP open in the flat and he still had a timeout out. Just bad situational playing but he is still young.

I agree about the silly comments but this game was pretty awful. Both picks were dreadful and he under threw DT badly at the end forcing the FG attempt. The longer it goes, the more the natives will get restless but I agree about Kubes he does nothing unless the team starts losing. Pretty sweet to be at 4-0 but Tedy had his way with that D on a few drives especially Talib so they can be had by a decent QB and O. And APs run for the TD was fantastic too.

I didn't say the offense was bad. But yes, they are a shell of the record setting behemoth they used to be. Obviously they moved on from JT and Wes at the right time along with Moreno.  They lost Decker too who was less important than any of them, but still a good receiver. They've only had one good player to replace those 4 on offense, and that's Sanders. Lost four good players, gained one and the QB has regressed.

am.

Denver is in press coverage...as a QB, you have to hope the line holds...

Teddy cant throw to guys who haven't come open yet

and again.,.the TDs are ordinary and the picks are dreadful...They've said that about Peyton for years.

The last drive won the game....if we're being honest

    • I guess the whole question is the merits of the report. You report on his diabetes with tons of guesses and speculations and WITHOUT taking the side of the person who's been affected here and who's living and dealing with that condition. You report on the player being uncoachable WITHOUT taking the opinion of his coaches about being coachable or not(and BTW from what I've heard both from Colts and Texas coaches, this is resoundingly NOT TRUE). You report about him being immature and honestly, everything I've seen on the surface suggests the opposite. You report about his combine performance by giving it a pretty harsh reading(the video is in this thread and the account of what happened by McGinn is in this thread... People can actually go and look at what happened and make their own mind about whether the characterization of that workout was fair or not. I will just say you can represent the player stumbling in a drill and going again in various different ways and McGinn chose a specific way to represent it. It was the most negative way you could choose).    You know I had my own reservations about that outburst by Ballard at the presser, but the more I'm learning about Mitchell the more I actually believe in what Ballard was saying and the less merit those reports have in my mind. Maybe I have my own unconscious biases too, now that I have vested interest in Mitchell actually being good for us. I don't know     I guess ultimately none of it matters. AD's success or failure won't depend on some pre-draft reports... it will depend on how he handles himself from now on, how hard he works, his drive to be great and our staff's ability to get the best of him.
    • Hmmm.   ”Healthy excuses will be hard to come by.”    Really?   Richardson, who had less than a thousand snaps in college, then had roughly 200 snaps his rookie year.  There’s one.   And Houston has Stroud who had a great rookie year.  Aren’t most media predicting Houston and JVille ahead of Indy this year?  That’s two without any trouble.     I just think insisting on a division title because a fan thinks it’s time doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.   Sorry, just my two cents…. And often not worth that much.
    • For me absolutely it does. If Richardson stays healthy excuses will be hard to come up with. As positive as I am with Ballard at some point we have to start winning. He bet on himself by bringing in his own home grown talent this year, what he does at safety in the coming month and a half has me worried as well. We were so close to winning the division last year with a back up QB that my expectation is winning the AFC south this year.    If they make it into the wild card game and lose then the seat is just as hot for me. If they advance further and make a Cinderella run then I’m fully back on board.
    • 3 straight losses for the Reds. They have their moments where they play well. But it’s time to be real. They aren’t a playoff team and will never be as long as the Castillinis own them and David Bell is manager.    De La Cruz is fun, but his career will be wasted on this team.
    • Am I reading this correct?   You think Ballard’s seat gets hot if the Colts don't win the AFC South?  Really?   So if the Colts don’t win the south but make the playoffs Ballard’s seat still gets hot?    Just making sure I understand your viewpoint.
