No, I am not speaking about our QB.

I am talking about Reginald Wayne.

Marvin Harrison will always hold a special place in my heart, because he displayed the type of plays that were the reason I became a true NFL fan in the first place....outstanding feats of human performance, filmed by the best crews on the planet. But as incredible as Marv's epic collection of highlight catches that defied gravity and logic were, he never took the team on his back when the opposition had him as the only real receiving threat and turned in the kind of performance that Reggie did today.

This is not meant to demean MH in any way...shape...or fashion. It is just that in my heart, after witnessing what I saw today, Reggie moves into the number one spot as a Colt WR.

I ask that this not turn into a comparison debate thread. If you feel different, that is completely ok. This is just my way of honoring the incredibly long road that Reggie has traveled in Marvin's shadow. Today, he stepped into the sunshine.

Oh, I ran into Reggie while returning from the SB village early this year. He was gracious to have a photo taken with him next to me that I still cherish now, outside St. Elmo's Steakhouse.

I told him while getting the picture taken "I wish you would stay and I will never forget his winning TD in that 4th & 2 game".

He stayed and he keeps catching more game winning TDs. I am so glad he chose to stay, can you tell???

I beg to respectfully differ with you slightly WH. Yes, Reggie Wayne played "lights out" today no question. However, the torch was literally passed to Wayne the minute Harrison refused to take a pay cut under GM Bill Polian and was systematically released. The torch was passed years ago not just by today's lone LOS performance alone. I agree with your initial premise WH just not your timetable.

I agree with southwest1 the torch was passed years ago. i think as far back as 2005. not too get too far off topic but Reggie and Marv even Peyton have taught me so much over the years in how to handle lifes situations and thats just to be prepared. Extensive preparation leaves you in a position to be able to handle anything that arises.

To follow up Warhorses statement. I get what you are saying man. While Reggie has been strong along the years, and has worked his tail off, he really shined yesterday. I get what SW is saying too. Yeah, the torch was passed when Marv left, but I get the point in what WH is saying. Reggie made some astounding plays yesterday and put the new era Colts on a different page in the book. Reggi IS Luck's MH. It's a new day, a new time, a new Colts! It's awesome! I love it! Reggie is solidly REGGIE! I'm not saying it hasn't been coming, I'm just sayin' I understand WH's position in his statement. It's not wrong. Marvin was wonderful for us, and always did his part. Now today, it's Reggie! In his own right, with his own players, in his own time. Is the next Reggie/Marvin on the team now? 5 years from now, are we saying this same thing about one of our young receivers stepping out of Reggie's light. I think this is sort of the point Warhorse is making. Good post!

I agree and have thought that for awhile. Not just his plays on the field but he's loyal and he's not a diva like a lot of WR these days. My fav colt.

Perhaps I caused some confusion, maybe I didn't. To clarify, I have always thought of Marvin as the standard when it came to Indy Colt Wr's.

That now belongs to Reggie.
