  1. story says organizational decision. So Steichen and Ballard primarily. Hard to know how much Bradley had a say?
  2. Missed one. Rock Ya-Sin drafted at the top of the 2nd round. Pick 34. So he was drafted high as well.
  3. Well…. You’ve asked the question and @Superman did as well so it seems appropriate to respond. Id say this. I always read that Love looked terrible in practice and was unimpressive at best in the pre-season games where he did play. Now maybe Love showed enough improvement in his third year that the Packers felt confident in keeping him for his 4th year and giving him the keys to the car, so to speak. That seems a more reasonable evaluation than my original view of being a complete bust for three years. So let’s call it two years. So I think Love had some degree of control of his future. If he didn’t look good in practice or pre-season where football is much easier he had to have some level of responsibility for how his own career unfolded. By the way, and not for nothing, but if I remember correctly, Rodgers didn’t help much by saying it wasn’t his job to baby sit Love and show him the ropes. I think Rodgers caught some heat for that and IMO deservedly so. This would be my updated view.
  4. What are the Colts doing wrong that you view it as doing everything the hard way? The Colts didn’t hurt AR. If Richardson had remained healthy we’d all have a much better understanding of how good AR might be someday. But with his injury, AR is a year behind schedule. Again, not the Colts fault, sometimes stuff happens. Im curious to hear more about your viewpoint…
  5. I think he’s was trying to imply the talent underperformed due to the recently fired head coach. Thats my hunch….
  6. Since you follow this so closely…. Why would Dodds go with Harbaugh? What's the connection? Has Dodd’s interviewed with the Chargers twice? Thanks in advance.
  7. Yup…. Even this year I don’t think most were looking down on the AFC South. Right now, I think the NFC South is viewed as the weakest division. Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte, and Tampa. Not a good team in the bunch. They’re now the red headed step child.
  8. I pretty much disagreed with most everything you wrote. I think I agree that it’s unlikely to happen for a variety of reasons. But I think your view of the two franchises is over stated on both sides. Sorry.
  9. Have there been upsets? Sure. But the final is Baltimore the top seed and KC who I think is the 3 seed. What's the problem here?
  10. This is an interesting post you’ve written, and you may even be right. But speaking of the things you’re long on record about is this…… About three months ago, when the Colts had re-signed Taylor and you were angry you said roughly the following: That the Colts would never be as good as the Eagles because Philly has Howie Roseman and he was the best GM in football. That Roseman makes all the tough decisions that Ballard will never make. He was willing to trade for AJ Brown and Ballard never would. He was willing to let his top RB Mikes Sanders leave in FA and Ballard kept Taylor. You were adamant how great Roseman was. Now you’re saying you never believed in the Eagles in 22 or 23. That you never believed in Hurts, the same Hurts that Roseman signed to a contract of 5/255. That their success was all due to a weak schedule in 2022 when they were a few minutes from winning the Super Bowl. Now you opposed so many of the decisions made by the great Howie Roseman. What do you think Roseman would think of your comments then and now? I sure find them interesting. This is a near 180 for you.
  11. You mean Jordan Love, who up until this year was thought by everyone to be a huge bust? That Jordan Love? This was Love’s 4th year. Fourth! A huge disappointment for three and in his 4th year, he shows big improvement. How many Colts fans are that patient? The Giants Daniel Jones didn’t show much until his 4th year last year. Sometimes it takes QB longer to have the game slow down for them. Nothing beats experience and you have to be patient for that to happen. I strongly suspect I’ll be writing about this the next 2-3 years when Colts fans lose patience with AR.
  12. Im not sure you were intending to respond to me? I was talking with someone else and your comment to me doesn’t match my post. But, to respond to this post, you’re off on Hurts. This was his THIRD season as the Eagles starter. 15 games in 21, 15 games in 22, and 17 games this year. So, third year.
  13. The Colts only play zone about 60 percent? Really? The way our defense is discussed negatively around here, you’d think it was 90 percent. I’m stunned to learn the Colts play man about 40 percent of the time. Thanks for the good 411.
  14. To your last sentence…. Neither John Harbaugh nor Dan Campbell coordinate either the offense or defense. They have coordinators do that. There may be more, but those two quickly came to mind.
  15. Please notice, I didn’t say anything bad about Tyler. Nothing. I have no real issues with him though I do like Mc Dermott. I read good things about him and tried to convey that.
  16. One other point…. Let’s not forget that you’re the same guy who starting around the pre-season you stated you were going to give Ballard a pass all season long. That you understood what was going to happen this season. The Colts were going to play their rookies and other young players to give them much needed experience. You said you were on board with all of it. And you said it multiple times over a period of weeks and months. And what did it take? 6-8 weeks? And suddenly you flip-flopped and were back bashing Ballard. Considering the Colts were starting the backup and Taylor wasn’t playing the Colts had either met or exceeded expectations. Yet you did a complete 180 and you were back to bashing Ballard. You're entitled to any opinion you want. You're even entitled to change your mind. Plenty of people do that. But it’s hard to take that seriously when you do it after the team is meeting or exceeding expectations.
  17. LOL! I’ve never thought of you as anything other than an arm chair QB. I don’t care about other points of view, I’m totally fine with opposing views. You get pushback from me and many others because you post what are perceived as poor arguments. I’ve never called you a troll, but many others have. All I care about is the quality of the argument. From time to time, you’ve made good arguments and I’ve said so. But when you don’t, I try to say so and explain the flaw in the argument. All I really care about is the quality of the argument.
  18. You are correct. Then I have no idea what KC was trying to say?!?
  19. I think he’s saying Alzado and Romanowski were teammates.
  20. Well…. For starters, the Colts beat the Bucs head to head. And the reason the Bucs are in the playoffs, is that they won the weakest conference in the NFL. Yes, the NFC South is viewed as much weaker than the AFC South.
  21. Tyler Dunne used to be media. He covered the bills for a number of years. Apparently he doesn’t like the Bills head coach Sean McDermott. Dunne is no longer conventional media. He does not have a NFL credential from any team. But he writes about football, the Bills and the Packers primarily. (he lives in Wisconsin). From what I’ve read, he’s very good at what he used to do. What he’s doing now requires a subscription. He’s monetized his coverage of the NFL. Good for him. Thats what I’ve been able to come up with.
  22. “Convert JT to a Deebo Samuel role.” Is that what you meant to say? Jonathan Taylor into Deebo Samuel? I don’t follow. How is that to happen? Taylor doesn’t have a wide receivers hands. Can you elaborate your thinking?
  23. For whatever it’s worth…. One major advantage that Pitt has over Evans is that he’s 4 years younger. Evans is 30 now, and will be 31 at the start of next season. And wide receivers tend to age rapidly, one year you’re very good, and the fall off can be shockingly swift.
