  1. BT? Brady didn’t “just accept” a 10 year deal. That deal was made in May of 22. Not a typo. That’s 21 months ago. Brady joining Fox Sports is very VERY old news. It goes into effect this coming season. Brady has literally been practicing with Fox Sports for about a year and a half. Said he wanted to be ready once he finally started.
  2. Ballard has never traded up in the first round. Way too expensive. Don't expect him to do it for the first time this year. This year’s WR class is said to be talented and deep. I believe Ballard and Steichen will find a WR they like in the first two rounds.
  3. @cdgacoltsfan Chad has linked it for you. Again, it’s NOT a prediction, just writers thinking out loud, a thought experiment. Hope you find it interesting.
  4. Huh? You know I don’t link. You’ve made an issue of me not linking. I literally wrote that if the story isn’t on the main ESPN.com page, you’ll find it on their NFL page. On the NFL page, the title of the story is “projecting the quarterback carousel”. Hope that helps.
  5. FWIW….. Dayo IS an inside-outside player. He can play both DE positions, plus the 3-tech. I don’t believe he has reached his peak just yet, but he was clearly better this year. And I’d expect another good leap next year.
  6. Every year fans here say the Colts rookie player didn’t show them enough to satisfy them. So they want to turn around and re-draft that same position the very next year. Happens every year. It would appear you’re doing it now. Or am I misunderstanding you?
  7. Jaylon Jones was also a 7th round draft pick. The 32” rule may not be a 100 percent rule, but it’s pretty close.
  8. Odds are both Allen and Burns will either be re-signed or tagged. Why would their teams not bring them back? Those players are key building blocks. As for everything else, I’d say odds are you’re going to be disappointed.
  9. This is up on ESPN’s website. A story, which is basically a thought experiment which predicts who will be the starting quarterback for all 32 teams. They project Denver trades Wilson to Atlanta. Denver will then eat a massive $85 mill dead cap hit over two years. The Broncos will need an inexpensive starting QB. They would sign Minshew for 2 years and $14 million to be their starting QB in 24 and maybe 25. If you don’t see the story, look for it on the ESPN.com NFL page.
  10. Ballard put out a statement the day it was revealed the team was not keeping Okereke. Basically he said he didn’t want to not keep Okereke, but he had no choice. That to release Leonard would’ve been a huge dead cap hit to the Colts and completely screwed up the Colts off-season plans. Plus the team doctors hoped Leonard would return to form. I think there a number of media tweets that helped explain the situation the Colts were in. But Ballard clearly didn’t want to let Okereke go. I don’t think Ballard had done this before for any player. He knew it wouldn’t end well.
  11. Wow…. You really believe that nonsense? It’s called exceeding expectations, that’s what the Colts did. And some teams fell short of expectations. That happens every year in sports too, not just the NFL, but all sports. I don’t know why you don’t know this, but you don’t. Did you not notice that Chris Ballard made ZERO major moves to try and help the Colts this year. He signed none of the name free agents during the season that this community called for. Zero. So, I have these pesky things known as facts. While you continue to use your opinion. But what you think you know is astounding. You actually wrote that I have known you’ve been right all along for years. Your words. And you actually believe that. I’ll simply be diplomatic and say the exact opposite is true. 180 degrees opposite, that’s how far away you and I are on most issues. You and I might agree on a small number of issues from time to time. But they are the exception and not the rule. Sorry. I’ll give you credit for this one thing…. With most people if you call them a conspiracy theory guy they get defensive and deny it. Not you. You freely admit it. You lean into it. You warmly embrace it. Good luck with that.
  12. The ads for the Super Bowl are sold out MONTHS in advance! The teams that reach the SB help determine the ratings, and that helps set the rates the following year. But there are other factors involved as well. Your latest conspiracy theory doesn’t go anywhere. Oh. Sorry. Looks like I’m keeping receipts again.
  13. Ya think it might take a little bit more than a first to get Justin Jefferson?!? Besides, he’ll eventually get signed or tagged. He's not going anywhere.
  14. OK…. Do you have a link that says voted in? Because I just read three stories about Minshew and the Pro Bowl. All said he was named, not one said he was voted. Also, Josh Allen has asked out of the Pro Bowl. He’s playing golf that day in Florida. Wants no part of the game. The idea that players VOTED in Minshew over Josh Allen should seem astounding to you. There shouldn’t be more than a 0.1 percent chance of that ever happening. If you have a link that says it did, odds are high the link is incorrect.
  15. Minshew has already collected about 2-2.5 million in bonuses so far. I don’t know about any bonuses for the Pro Bowl.
  16. It may make it harder. I doubt it guarantees anything.
  17. Nice honor for Gardner. But we shouldn’t read too much into it. He’s there because a good number of other players have chosen NOT to be. Either way, happy for him.
  18. Yup…. I’m thinking agents is the issue here. Maybe the guys are out if shape? Really too bad. Scouts want to see how competitive players are when they go head to head in practice. They’ve still got almost three full months to turn things around.
  19. No worries. None. Minshew is a high level backup, but that’s it. AR is who the franchise invested in. And it’s expected he’ll struggle from time to time. This comes with the territory. And I’d add this last thought…. If by some strange occurrence a QB controversy popped up I think Steichen and Ballard (and if need be Irsay too) would squash it on Day One.
  20. You want Ebukam, who plays at 240-245, on the left side? He's the closest thing the Colts have to a speed rusher, so he normally plays mostly RDE. The Colts have Paye, Lewis and Dayo who can play the left side.
  21. I understand. I wasn’t suggesting you pick the websites over Boomer and Gio in the morning. I’m just saying the websites are available every hour of every day if you’re ever curious and you want the info then. Honestly, that’s all.
  22. Very good and very thoughtful post. Appreciate it.
  23. Jones shares what he is legally required to share according to NFL rules. It’s the same as all teams. But there’s a reason Jerry built a 90,000 seat stadium which can be converted to 100,000 if they want. Jerry makes more money, and that money he’s NOT required to share.
  24. I think SF can extend Purdy after his third season of his 4-year rookie contract. So, after next year. Purdy will likely get a nice signing bonus to out some cash into his pocket ASAP.
