  1. Regarding Goedert…. I believe he’s a Y. He can block and catch. But Bowers is an F. A receiving tight end like Granson and Mallory. So I’m not sure he fits the profile of the type of tight end the Colts might be in the market. And I’ll tip my hand on something…. Depending on whatever good or bad issues surface with Ogletree, I think Balllard and Steichen might try to find a way to keep him. I think they are that high on him. If possible, why should they end up cutting him only to have another team claim him the way Philly claimed Rogers. Too early to know, and it’s only a hunch, but after listening to Ballard, I think it’s possible.
  2. Seattle HAS a GM. John Schneider. Dodds is not leaving to be the #2 to another GM. If he leaves, he’s going to bet the GM for another franchise.
  3. Who ever said they were trying to recreate the Legion of Boom? No one. Once again you jump to conclusions based on false assumptions.
  4. In spite of Minshew? Really? Seriously? Not because of Minshew? Amazing how we all see the same thing completely differently.
  5. Don’t forget, Shane Steichen will get a key vote on whether Minshew comes back or not. It won’t just be Ballard’s call.
  6. Question: What words did Ballard say that gave you the impression that “no one is safe.” I listened to the same press conference and didn’t come away with that impression. I’ve read some stories written about the presser and have yet to read anything that says no one is safe. Maybe you’re right. But I’m curious.
  7. Yes…. I meant to add that, but got sidetracked. Thanks for that good catch!
  8. Ballard also said he didn’t give Bradley much talent and that’s on him (Ballard) Ballard said the kids can’t get better unless they play so they let them play. That’s for better and for worse. I think everyone’s seat is HOT, including Ballard’s. Yes, Ballard says he’s encouraged about the future, but if things go wrong in 24, if AR gets hurt again, things will get very tense and uncomfortable in the facility.
  9. Moose…. I’m long on record that while MOJ is our CURRENT WR1, I would like some better. I want someone faster, more explosive and someone our opponents might even fear. So eventually, we’d keep MPJ and he’d become our WR2. By that I mean our second best WR. Downs would be our WR3 and Pierce would be our WR4. I’ve always liked MPJ. I’m glad we drafted him. Hope he stays with us for many more years. But I too want somebody better. Fortunately, this draft class is said to be GREAT with receivers. I’m confident Steichen will find one he loves.
  10. Remember…. AR may have exceeded expectations for most, but he’s basically still a rookie. He’s still badly lacking reps. So all the rookie mistakes he was supposed to make this year, he will make next season and then in 25 as well. Exceeding expectations but still needing lots of experience can BOTH be true.
  11. You don’t see any elite traits on Pittman? At least two: Hands and routes.
  12. Am I reading you right? You think Flus was WORSE than Bradley? Is that what I’m reading?
  13. Well…. The Colts finished 3rd in the AFC South. But I think next year’s schedule shapes up to be one of the Colts most difficult. First, 9 games on the road, 8 at home. Second, games with the Pats, Jets and Giants all in the road. They may not be good teams, but the games are on the east coast and may be at a time of year where weather plays a factor. My initial way-too-early prediction is 9-8, and no way to know if that’ll be good enough to make the playoffs. We will know better in mid-April when the 24 schedule release happens.
  14. I’m sorry you didn’t get $1 for every time you’ve told us all that you predicted 8-8-1. If that happened you’d be one of the richest people in the state of Indiana! You could even change your handle: 8-8-1ColtsBestEver. (I love you CBE! All said in fun! I think).
  15. I believe the three international games have been announced and the Colts were not one of them. I believe I saw them over on NFL.com.
  16. Ok.. point noted going forward I’ll try to remember that with you.
  17. Somebody else asked me a question. I answered him. Then you made a comment to me. I answered you. No where did I say he can’t enjoy. I don’t hate Jim. But I’m always a little skeptical. He’s wired different than anyone else. The contract offer has been reported for a few weeks now. I’m not aware that anyone has refuted it. Just saying.
  18. My post is over 7 hours old. I made it early this morning here in California.
  19. Im just sharing what I’ve read. And if he’s not coming back, why did he just hire Brady’s agent, Don Yee? Michigan is offering 10 years and $125m. If he’s staying, why not just accept that contract and be done with it? I know Harbaugh is a weird guy, but there are lots of questions now without many answers.
  20. Sorry…. Not trying to give you a hard time. I was up extra early for the AR presser and stayed awake through the Ballard presser. After that, and doing a few other things I needed a long nap. When I woke up I looked through the Ballard presser thread to see all the reaction. Some of yours jumped out at me. You're a tremendous poster. One of my favorites, so when we see things differently that really catches my attention. If you like, please consider it a compliment, because that’s how it’s intended. If you want me to go back and go through your posts so I can find my confused reactions, I will. But that might take quite some time. Just let me know.
  21. “Cause they have jobs they want to keep.” I don’t think any reporter is worried about losing their job. If Doyel hasn’t lost his job, neither is anyone else. But you want to maintain a good working relationship with the GM. As I’ve written many times, it’s not easy to ask hard questions that might annoy Ballard, when you’ll need to ask him for an exclusive one-on-one during the course of the season. It can be done, but it takes some skill to do it. Easier said than done.
  22. Yes…. I read some comments of yours that left me confused. Hence the emoji. If you’re curious, pick the ones you want and ask me. I’ll try to explain.
  23. Most everything I read says he’s turning pro. Harbaugh already hired Brady’s former agent. His name is Don Yee. Did that about two weeks ago. One key issue is that the NCAA might hit JH with a season long suspension that would mean no pay as well as no coaching. So Harbaugh would be returning to the NFL to get away from more legal trouble.
  24. Yeah…. My very poor wording…. I knew that, but left out the words “with the intention of keeping both.” Good catch. My bad.
