  1. It certainly seems possible to me. A lot of people talk about his mechanics. Those are easy to fix. It's much harder to fix the normal human panic when under pressure that most QBs exhibit. Some people just have ice water in their veins. As long as AR doesn't get the yips, and makes progress on the mechanics, he'll be fine.
  2. OK, AR will start out training camp performing at a level slightly below the average of a current NFL starting quarterback. From that rather impressive starting point, he will improve dramatically over a period of two years. IOW, he will perform above expectations of most fans right from the start. That is my prediction.
  3. While that is certainly possible, it is more probable that he will start out as a slightly below average starting quarterback, then make dramatic progress over the next two years. Any 'freaking out' will be solely a fan problem much more than an Anthony Richardson problem.
  4. All the pieces are there. Now, can the Colts put them together to successfully solve the puzzle? I'm cautiously optimistic. A lot of the answer depends on Shane Steichen.
  5. If Old Fan Man is going to keep posting on this site, not being a fan, at least he could change is account name to Curmudgeon. "You'll know a curmudgeon when you see one: He'll be ill-tempered and miserly, eager to shake his fist and spout disagreeable opinions. Definitions of curmudgeon. a crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas." - vocabulary.com
  6. Maybe they can get Andrew Luck to design a new Football Hall of Fame building, and he can stand inside it, admiring what he did, and could have done.
  7. Frankly, we have a lot of players that could be classified as sleepers. We have a lot of potential, but it depends on how much they want to achieve to be the best, and how lucky they are healthwise.
  8. This will be the biggest difference from the previous several years. It won't be the "same ol', same ol'". Win or lose, it's gonna be fun to watch.
  9. Peyton owes nothing to the Colts. It is just business. Do you owe any loyalty to your previous employers that let you go?
  10. So, is it OK for the league to actively promote gambling among all other people, but not the players? The NFL has created a moral hazard for itself.
  11. Between Reich and Pagano (and Caldwell), I vote for Francis the Talking Mule as the best coach. All are probably very nice guys, but I hear Francis can be a pain in the butt.
  12. There's so much I don't know in making predictions. I'm always hopeful the Colts will win, and sometimes puzzled when they don't - but should have. My general impression is that, for some reason, the Colts have under-performed their talent level. I attribute that to poor coaching and "team problems". The media tries to tell me I'm wrong. I won't tell you what I think of the media. You can probably predict my answer.
  13. I predict that until someone pays me for my predictions, I won't make any predictions. The bold part: I probably won't make predictions even if they paid me.
  14. Just change what used to be football into "Fairies Tap", and replace both grass and synthetic turf with bubble wrap. That should make the game safer, too.
  15. Matt Millen thanks you for noting Ryan Grigson was actually the worst GM in the history of football. You might be right! Then again, Jim Irsay was the GM for the Colts, and I remember Fredd Young ...
  16. The old plan never could work because there is no such thing as a 'plug-and-play' football player.
  17. Recently, the Colts have taken players with some potential and grossly underperformed. We've wasted a lot of talent with a history of bad coaching and terrible decision making. I hope things have changed but I wonder how so many obviously (to me) bad coaches got hired in the first place. Let's hope the new coaching staff breaks this past pattern.
  18. I'm even more suspicious of things I read on the Internet than I am of things told to me by AI (like ChatGPT). The reason Geoff Hinton quit Google (BARD) is because he knows that these generative forms of AI are called ChatMSU (politely, makes stuff up because of bad pre-training). Kinda reminds me of some in this fan base ...
  19. Mis-spelled by spell-check? Makes me suspicious of AI.
  20. I think I saw that same moose in Wyoming ... only I was about 10 yards away. Really big!!
  21. No risk-it, no biscuit. Richardson was my choice here.
  22. For me, that's a HARD no on trading for Fields.
  23. The whole team quit. Think about that when buying season tickets.
