13 free agents signed by the Colts this offseason

The Indianapolis Colts had a pretty busy offseason once free agency got underway and even though they didn’t come out of the gates hot, they made several moves to bring new players in.

We already looked at the Colts’ free agents who signed with other teams this offseason. Now, we are focusing our attention on the outside free agents the Colts brought in.

For clarity purposes, we are including only the outside free agents who signed with the Colts after the start of the new league year. So the futures contracts and players who re-signed with the Colts won’t appear on this list.

Moves can still be made, of course, but here are 13 free agents the Colts signed this offseason and where they last played:

1. CB Brandon Facyson (Las Vegas Raiders)

2. S Armani Watts (Kansas City Chiefs)

3. S Rodney McLeod (Philadelphia Eagles)

4. LB Brandon King (New England Patriots)

5. CB Stephon Gilmore (Carolina Panthers)

6. OT Brandon Kemp (Tennessee Titans)

7. OT Dennis Kelly (Green Bay Packers)

8. QB Nick Foles (Chicago Bears)

9. RB Phillip Lindsay (Miami Dolphins)

10. RB Ty'Son Williams (Baltimore Ravens)

11. OL Jason Spriggs (Atlanta Falcons)

12. DE Bryan Cox (Buffalo Bills)

13. DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (Minnesota Vikings)

I may have tunnel vision, because I’m sure other teams fans feel the same way, but I think Ballard did a fantastic job.

Of course, we really can’t make any judgement but I think he filled a lot of holes.

I'm generally happy with what Ballard does as a whole (except for the 2021 draft), however, the whole conservative FA thing needs to start showing results. We are coming to the point where we are going to have to pay Pittman, Taylor, and Nelson, and I don't know how long our window will be open for before we start losing talent.

On the surface, we did well, however, we say that every year, and we just aren't accomplishing much. I'm actually fine with the offense, I want to see the defense step up this year against solid QBs. Gilmore should be a big part of that from this list, however, I think losing Willis will hurt quite a bit (even though it seems Ballard knew he would retire).
