Let's not "pile on" Chris Ballard!! Honestly - the NFL Draft is nothing but "a big ole' crap shoot"!! You find players like QB Tom Brady in the 6th round. You find busts like QB JaMarcus Russell & QB Ryan Leaf drafted in the top of the first round. You have players like QB Baker Mayfield who is on his FOURTH TEAM since being drafted in the first round. You find *S who will trade first round picks for RB Trent Richardson - AND - draft DL Bjorn Werner in the first round. Yep - it's a "crap shoot" FOR SURE!! And NO ONE is at fault - because the ONLY resume a player has is as a COLLEGIATE player. Not everyone can transition to the NFL and be as successful as they were in college. This conjures up images of QB Tim Tebow - GREAT collegian - below average NFL QB!!

One wonders "IF" Bill Belichick - and - his "sinking Patriots ship" reach out to Josh McDaniels to return to Foxboro?? That's the ONLY way that Mark Davis will get out of paying a second way-too-long head coaching contract!! I think Josh McDaniels is done with "head coaching chances". He cost the GM - and - his offensive coordinator their jobs too. Me thinks that he won't be on an NFL coaching staff for quite a while.

I think this years offensive staff has brought along some "swagger" this season!! It's a learning year for our coaching staff - and - offensive players!! LOOK OUT NEXT SEASON!!

We shall see what we shall see!! When Steichen came in - Gus Bradley AND his defensive staff ALL had 1-year left on their contracts. Will there be wholesale changes on defense - like there was this season on offense?

More INEXPERIENCED cornerback play. Too many things have happened since the offseason which has impacted both the quality and depth at the cornerback position. As such - the defense is going to be in "air raid" mode.

Chris Ballard will do what is best for "the team" - and - IF that is moving on from Shaq Leonard - he'll do it.

Everyone on the Colts staff and roster will be evaluated during exit interviews at the end of the season. If a change needs to be made - that would be the time to look for it to happen.

Nope - look at the number of injuries the defense has sustained this season - especially in the defensive backfield. Grover Stewart's suspension too. You can't field a competitive team WITHOUT competent players to field.

I concur. You really don't think that the front office would keep a player who isn't up to par after a full season - do you? I'm just surprised that everyone wants to "cut bait" with more than half the season left.

We indirectly provide the $$$ - but - fans have NO SAY in whether a team keeps or releases a player.

Reminder: He had "nagging injuries" last season. I'm thrilled to see he is fully healed and back to being a "game wrecker". Fingers crossed for another Pro Bowl nod!!

I wonder if any of you have "tried to get back to your previous selves" following ONE surgery - much less TWO - on an area of the body that is difficult to place a recovery timeline on? Didn't think so. I also feel that since the fans aren't paying Shaq's contract $$$ - then we should defer to those who see him in practice every single day - and - can appropriately assess his recovery and performance!! Best wishes to Shaq Leonard!!
