  1. I think it’s fair to critique PFF’s grades, but I actually agree with this. He is helped greatly by the rest of the defense, especially the LBs who help a lot in coverage.
  2. I like Rome and would love if we got him. My heart says Woods can still be an elite TE, because I was so high on him pre-draft. Malik is my dream, but he’s almost certainly not going to be there.
  3. I’ve always thought Aiyuk reminded me of a shorter MPJ, but I’ll admit I don’t watch the 49ers much. I personally would love to draft a young WR in this draft. It’s deep and really talented at WR. I’d like us to get another weapon that will grow up with AR. Pittman can be the consistent old wise vet, Downs is our slot gadget guy, Alec is the burner, and maybe we can draft our legit #1 this year.
  4. I personally didn’t want anything to do with Young, but as a small guy who has tall friends, I just can’t get my mind past the thought of a QB throwing over guys that are that much taller than he is. I know what it looks like when you’re small, and I didn’t trust him at all. I loved both Stroud and AR and was fine with either one. I felt Stroud had the higher floor and AR had the higher ceiling. I still feel that way, and I think if AR was the QB against Houston, they return home crying.
  5. I’ve been a Ballard apologist, but I think his single biggest issue was not rebuilding when it was required. After we lost Luck, he wanted to stay in the playoffs with the same team, but with any number of sub-par QBs. Getting the franchise QB is usually when a team makes that big jump. I think we finally have ours in AR, but it took him 5 years and essentially accidentally falling into it. Who honestly thought Matt Ryan would be anything more than a 1 or 2 year bandaid? We’re lucky he was as terrible as he was and he gave us AR. I’m willing to start the clock over on Ballard and give him three years. If Nick Caserio can do it to the Texans in three years with extreme dysfunction and a terrible roster, we’ll see if Ballard can do it with a healthy culture and a good roster. If we don’t win the division within three years, I’m willing to admit I was wrong about Ballard.
  6. I won’t lie, I loved Parris and had him as my #3 ahead of Deebo as my #4. I expected Parris to be elite. I think injuries and Luck leaving destroyed that chance. I thought the Rock Ya-Sin pick was a reach, but oh well. No use living in the past. And although WR is the only position I seem to be good at predicting, I had Denzel Mims as my #3 in 2020, just behind CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson. Sometimes you can’t trust your eyes.😂 I just hope if somehow a miracle happens and Malik Nabers drops a little, Ballard does the right thing. Heck, I wouldn’t mind at all if we trade up to get him.
  7. Guys, all this talk about A.J. Brown just reminds me that we sadly didn’t have the option to draft my personal #1 and #2 WRs in the 2019 draft, A.J. and D.K. with our first two picks, at a time when our team desperately needed young WRs. It’s just so sad that wasn’t an option… Seriously though, Ballard has to stop missing the obvious weapons he passes up on in the draft.
  8. I believe Ballard just said he’s on the Commissioner’s Exempt List and they’re waiting for the legal stuff to play out before they make any decisions, and that he wouldn’t talk about it further.
  9. Puka Nacua was the 5th round, and broke all rookie WR records. I feel like the hit percentage gets higher the earlier you draft WRs, but Ballard doesn’t seem to be able to hit on those mid-late round WR gems like many other GMs. Can our scouts just not scout WRs? We always seem to hit on later round DBs and LBs.
  10. I agree, I see one of the middle rounds as an LB. Marist Liufau could be the pick. Olubi looked good at times, but I also can’t get the image out of my head of him flexing on Texans after making a tackle in which they got a first down. Don’t flex when they got a first down on you and they’re winning.
  11. I don’t want to say lucky either, but didn’t the Texans actually want Young? I was out on Young personally, because he’s the same height and weight as my brother, and I wouldn’t trust him to be an NFL QB, but drafting a QB is almost playing the lottery. Trevor Lawrence is good, but he doesn’t look like the next-gen Peyton or Luck as he was billed.
  12. Ballard is 50/50 on FA signings. Baker is bad. Ebukam was great.
  13. Did you watch him when he was healthy? AR is good. We just don’t know if he can stay healthy, or will be good after surgery.
  14. Heck yeah! My first job was in Newburgh.
  15. We were a play from making the playoffs with Gardner Minshew. What more do people want? If AR plays, we dominate that game. Gus Bradley does need to go though.
  16. Not in the slightest. It’s probably best that we ended the season now. Better draft position. You can’t make a run with Minshew unless you’re the 49ers.
  17. If AR is the QB in this game, we win by 10, at least. I like Minshew as a personality. He’s a funny guy, and I love the quirkiness. I was born and raised in southern Indiana, and he reminds me of that crazy guy that lives in every trailer park in Evansville. Makes me feel at home. He’s not a starting QB. He makes every pass harder for his receivers and he doesn’t see Alec wide open 30 yards down the field every other play. If AR is the QB this week, he has at least few TDs, and Alec has over 100 yards.
  18. I came here expecting this post to be about Gus Bradley. Shane did more than we could have ever expected with this team.
  19. There is an odd team from Indy, They bend like a tree when it’s windy, Yet they’re somehow a game from the Wild Card fame, This team causes stress deep within me. That horse team from old Indiana, Frank stunk like a rotten banana, Went from Hines up the gut, now with Shane gold is struck, Beat the Texans or trade cleats for pajamas.
  20. Stroud looks really good, but I’d still rather have AR’s skill set. However, I was an AR guy all last year, so maybe I’m doing the same thing, only against Stroud. I never wanted Bryce because as a small guy, I just don’t see a guy who’s about an inch taller than I am being a good QB in the NFL. I know what it looks like when I’m around 6’5 guys. No thanks.
  21. Puka is embarrassing teams. He’s already elite in my book. He’s single-handedly keeping me alive this week on my fantasy team. It’s just sad it had to be against us.
  22. Username checks out. 🙃
  23. If JT wasn’t “hurt” and Alec wasn’t a massive disappointment, I think AR would’ve looked as good as possible and we would’ve won. The talent is undeniable. I just hope we can keep him healthy.
  24. I don’t think it’s a stretch to believe that Taylor steadily has been changing as a result of the influence of his agent and possibly others he’s surrounded himself with. The people you surround yourself with can absolutely change how your mind works. My assumption is that his agent has been poisoning his mind, and finally he just snapped. There might be a good reason for him to be acting like this, but I think it’s just as likely that he was played by his agent and “friends.”
