  1. I also like that the chart has the evaluators ranked on grading practice. Soft to Hard grades.
  2. https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2023/05/27/colts-nfl-draft-grades-consensus-third-best-2023/ Interesting little breakdown. I found it interesting going through and seeing the differences on the individual evaluators. For instance, Pete Prisco giving Cowboys an A, when the consensus had them at #30. You can really see some biased here by some outlets. So all in all, I think this could give a decent outlook on what sites do show some biased to teams.
  3. They got $12.6m So could work the cap, but there isn't enough footballs to go around. Brown Smith Hopkins Watkins Goedert Arnold Swift Penny Scott Not to mention their 50.4% run vs 49.6% pass ratio. Could they make it work? Absolutely, but going to have to be some major sacrifices.
  4. Yeah, coincidentally those 2 teams have the least cap space available currently. All Chiefs would need to do is sign Jones to an extension and they could free up the money. Buffalo could extend Ed Oliver and cut Hines to make an offer. All depends on Hopkins, would need to take a moderate 1yr deal to sign with these contenders.
  5. So was Mathis. Things happen, this wouldn't be a reason I wouldn't bring him in. As some has mentioned, it's just not the right timing. Whether that be cap space, teams readiness to be a productive passing attack, roster positional depth(5 deep), stunting youth growth, other pending extensions. Hopkins is only 31(in few days), so he has many productive years left, just a micro chance it is here. I think he ends up with Bills or Chiefs. Either would be scary for the league
  6. Hopefully this helps him get back to normal life. You know this has been something that has been weighing on him mentally and emotionally. Hopefully he can find a new balance in life. Don't really want to discuss his play here, but I do feel that it definitely affected him on the field. That isn't what is important here though. Congrats on the future additions.
  7. I don't think he has any character concerns. Texans weren't the smartest in shipping him out to begin with. The Cardinals are in rebuild mode and will be playing with a backup for a good chunk of this season. So it makes sense for both parties to move on. His cap hit was just to big for teams to want to take on while giving up draft compensation as well. If Hopkins would sign to like a 3yr - $45m-$51m deal, I would entertain it, and then get best trade package for Pittman I could find. Probably looking for bigger AAV on multi year deal than that, might be looking for 1yr prove it deal. He's only 30(bout to be 31 in few days), so he still has some years out in front of him. He had a pretty good year last year for missing (8) games - (6) from suspension and not an injury. We would have to free up a little money to make it work and still have some left. Not to hard to accomplish though.
  8. There is ways to get out of it prior to next season, but I don't see it. He would have to just regress even more. Pre June 1st trade: 2024 Dead Cap: $18,600,000 2024 Cap Savings: $6,600,000 Post June 1st trade: 2024 Dead Cap: $6,200,000 2025 Dead Cap: $12,400,000 2024 Cap Savings: $19,000,000 If traded his contract would look like this for new team: 2024 Cap Hit - $19.2m 2025 Cap Hit - $16.8m 2026 Cap Hit - $18m Really don't see that happening, and am hoping for a resurgence this season like everyone else not named moosejaw. Lol. I named my dog Nelson. Lol. Was Nelson or Leonard. We go with Leonard for 2nd name. Nelson Leonard when he is in trouble. Anyway, back to previously scheduled program.
  9. At least through 2024. 2025 we can get out of deal and save $10m in cap space if need be.
  10. He hasn't even sniffed elite money yet. Only at $12.2m this season. Now next year it takes a big jump, but so will the salary cap, so it won't hurt as bad. Plus QB on rookie deals, there is plenty of money for what needs done. Saying that I fully expect the OL to have a good year, with new coaching and a season of Raimann strength and conditioning. Hopeful optimist.
  11. I don't think Bradley is trying to replace Rodgers. He did take to long last year to go to him, while playing his guy Faycson. I think he learned his lesson though. Rodgers was one of the top rated PFF corners last season. Sky is the limit as long as he can stay healthy. As far as the (3) we drafted, that was just needed. We needed some depth and competition. I really like all (3) of those guys.
  12. Yeah, I'm with you, I would like to see another season where he stays healthy. Perhaps extension later in the year. The tag just makes too much sense imo. We shall see. I don't like the thought of paying $23m AAV for Pittman, but that doesn't mean anything. To answer your question, I would off Hopkins that, and if he would accept. I probably find the best offer for Pittman and move on.
  13. Also, he is just now really getting to work on all the things to improve his accuracy that the team wants him to. Still early in the process, and yes a good reason to keep media exposure to a minimum. Just let the guy work. It isn't going to happen overnight. Just needs to get better everyday.
  14. Revisiting this Maybe get rid of this and figure out how to get to #3 and get Brandon Miller? #7, #29, Isaiah Jackson, (2-3) 2nds or 2028 1st(top 10 protected) ?
  15. Yeah I don't see any reason he would come here. That's not because I have a bad outlook on how the season will play out. I just think regardless how it plays out, we won't be a very efficient passing offense this year. And we don't have the money to make that luxury splash signing.
  16. What a backhanded compliment. This is getting ridiculous. Some of the posters I continually seeing saying this, over the years, have been some of the most consistent "Debbie Downers" on the site. Stickler of facts, NCF most definitely is, but the consistent daily attacks is getting out of hand. I challenge some that are continuing to push this narrative across the forum to go look in the mirror at past actions on this board and check on the hypocrisy they are presenting.
  17. That have the best chance of making their 1st Pro Bowl this year. https://coltswire.usatoday.com/lists/indianapolis-colts-pro-bowl-candidates-potential-first-time-2023/ Idea from this article. Their order: 1. Pittman Jr 2. Grover 3. Pierce 4. Franklin 5. Richardson 6. Braden Smith 7. Blackmon 8. Rodgers 9. Brents 10. Kwity My list would be the following: 1. Rodgers 2. Grover 3. Pittman 4. Smith 5. Kwity 6. Richardson 7. Franklin 8. Brents 9. Pierce 10. Blackmon Really outside of Rodgers and Grover, I don't think any of those other guys have much a chance. Rodgers could have breakout year if he stays healthy. Grover is just solid, but he will need to be a 3 down guy. What does everyone think? Who cares? At least something to discuss in the off-season? What's your ranking?
  18. Hopkins on the Chiefs or Bills seems pretty scary.
  19. Nice to see a stat that shows what most Colts fans already know. Not sure how accurate this is, but seems to back up what I saw with my eyes for many years. Peyton Manning did more with less than anyone else. No, I'm not talking about offensive weapons, talking about being on complete well rounded teams, where he didn't have to carry them. Offense can be the best in the league, but if your defense is in bottom half, you better have the ball last. Not surprised to see Montana, Aikman, Bradshaw, Young and Brady at the bottom of this list, as it verifies more of what I have seen over the years. Some of the biggest dynasties in history.
  20. Yeah, I meant to edit post after I posted it, but then just went to bed. Good catch
  21. I can see why there is some reprehension though, was our biggest hole last year on the line. lt kinda solidified towards end of the year. Many felt we would do more to address it. I like Fries to and agree, the team is much higher on him than a majority of fans. I still feel our biggest issue last year was Strausser. Hopefully Sparano gets these guys coached up, and a little continuity doesn't hurt either. I think between Fries, Ekiyor, Braden Smith and Freeland we will be ok over there.
  22. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.stampedeblue.com/platform/amp/2023/5/24/23735292/pff-projects-the-colts-jonathan-taylor-michael-pittman-jr-as-early-contract-extension-candidates Not really a big fan of Stampede, but here are their projections for Taylor and Pittman extensions. Let's hope, this isn't it. Taylor: Contract Projection: Four years, $60 million ($15 million per year), $35 million total guaranteed Pittman: Contract Projection: Four years, $92 million ($23 million per year), $53 million total guaranteed This puts Pittman at 10th highest WR contract. Also just under projected WR tag next year.
  23. Haven't heard anything other than medical being the reason he fell out of draft. I definitely think he has a good shot here.
  24. You gonna post anything of substance, or you just here to troll and try and bait NCF?
  25. It would, but because of Smith($19m), Nelson cap hit($12.2m) is very manageable this year. Don't really matter if both tackles are on rookie deals though. Offsets the cost. Just need best 5 out there. As of right now, it seems there is 3 options for the last spot. Fries, Ekiyor - RG Freeland - RT, with Smith moving inside. So 2 rookies or unproven guy. May the best man win. Still a couple FA options but that doesn't seem to be the plan as of now (with not signing anyone to this point)
