  1. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2023/06/09/isaiah-rodgers-nfl-gambling-scandal-new-problem Snippet: That bolded part made me laugh a little. But this article has a lot of good points. It's not about the truth, if Rodger's threw games or not, because I don't think that is there. He played to well last year for that to be the case. It is about the outside perception as a whole, the professional leagues already have a bunch of questions about other things(officiating, PEDs), this just add fuel to the fire, that much more. Saw something written the other day talking about, would the league try and sweep it under the rug if a superstar(we'll just use Mahomes as example) was caught? Doubt they could get away with sweeping it under the rug, but outside people will always wonder.
  2. Hooker(25) is even older than Levis(24). Even at 24, he can still have a 12-15yr career if things go ok. So the age thing in is a little over blown. Unless it is like Chris Weinke or something, who was about to turn 29 when he was drafted. I do like that ours just turned 21 though. I can see why Titans fans wanted Hooker though. Close ties, and pretty much most Titans fans in Tennessee are Volunteer fans as well.
  3. What's your thoughts on Ja's camp pushing a fake gun narrative? Think that helps reduce a suspension? I don't buy the fake gun narrative, but I'm not sure it even really matters. Can't say I blame them for trying to push it, but like I said, not sure it is going to help anything. Who rolls around with a fake gun anyway, just another good way to get you killed. Silver told him he shouldn't be posing with a gun like it's a toy after the first incident. Fake gun would fit with Ja's fake persona though, and just makes him look even worse than he already does And played Center at that
  4. I don't think too many people are ready to pay Pittman that(I know I'm not). That's just the range that has been placed as the potential next contract. WR are encroaching on $30m a season and the league has became more of a passing league. RB's are by committee a lot more as well. It all just comes back to production per cost. Teams feel they can start a RB , drafted in the 4th round and he can come in and have good production for a fraction of the cost. Tennessee thought they could not pay Brown and just draft a guy. That didn't go to well for them. Then you have the Chiefs that did the same thing with Hill, but it did work out. Easy to see why. Mahomes>>>>>>>>Tannehill This is going to be the tough decision the Colts will have to make with Pittman, although he isn't near the level of those 2 guys I just listed.
  5. I think Tom wanted to leave NE, the team would've had to free up more money to try and re-sign him, taking even more talent from roster. With the inability to add more pieces with it. Brady was looking for greener pastures. Found more weapons and a better defense in Tampa. Peyton didn't want to leave, and I think with how the Luck situation played out, I'm sure Irsay wishes he never forced Manning out, traded the #1 pick for a lot of assets and tried to make another run with Peyton. I know I wish that is what happened, in retrospect.
  6. I know Young started working with the 1's. Reports are Stroud has a little bit as well. Levis reports haven't seemed to great.
  7. I really hope Taylor is paying attention, if he truly wants to be here long term, he will need to sacrifice some money. He will get paid, but in 2-3 years, will probably fall in line with the rest of the high paid RBs. Hopefully team and Taylor can come to a nice deal for both sides where the end of it is a possibility. If not, let him play the year out and tag him, twice if need be. It's not all about if the production is there. He had a cap hit of $15m+ this year for the Vikings. It's just about the league as a whole, and big 2nd contracts for RBs, they rarely see the end of them. Whether production is still there or not. Teams always will feel they can get production for cheaper and they are usually right. They could still afford him, but did save $9m in cap space this year, but still not sure what is going on up there? Sure part of it is freeing up money for Jefferson extension. Vikings were also the 3rd most pass happy team in the league last year. 62.5% pass/37.5% run, so paying elite money for a RB really doesn't make sense if you are going to keep with that kind of ratio. Kirk Cousins has played at an very high level for the Vikings though. Won't be able to tank with him at QB. 5 years 80 starts(46-33-1) 20,934 yds 67.8 comp % 153 Pass TDs 50 INTs 3-1 ratio 100.9 QB rating 16 GW drives 6 Rush TDs 20 fumbles lost Season Avg: 4,187 yds, 31 pass TDs, 10 INTs, 3 GW drives, 4 fumbles lost There is a lot of teams around the league that would be happy with that production. I know, I know, "they can have him".
  8. Peyton's lack of involvement with the Colts is truly a bummer. He even did an interview with Stephen A Smith during game 1 of the finals, saying "I like my Broncos". Now I get that Denver is in the Finals, so that is where the conversation is based. Just goes back to that Irsay list, and Peyton's omission from it. Well goes back way before that. Irsay doesn't like it either and that was a passive aggressive shot at Peyton. Saying that Irsay is probably the main reason there is a divide and that list incident didn't help anything. Peyton talking to Hendon makes sense though with the Tennessee ties. Brady makes sense with Richardson fan hood as well
  9. Game 3: Jokic + Murray 66 points 31 rebounds 20 assist Miami Starters(All 5) 66 points 25 rebounds 12 assist
  10. Think I'm going Denver in 5. Took one of the worst games I've seen ref'd to not have this be 3-0 right now. In case you were wondering? I did tune in last night. It was by accident, but I watched. Had just been chilling and decided to turn the TV on at like 8:20 or something. Was going to check what was in Hulu for some background noice. My antenna, was already broadcasting ABC (so finals pregame), so I just decided to leave it on. Wasn't even thinking about the game when I turned the TV on.
  11. Agree with above, But I would say Wednesday, Thursday are most likely. Probably have Friday off, at least against each other? Last year's Lions joint practices were on Wednesday and Thursday. https://www.colts.com/news/2022-training-camp-schedule-grand-park-westfield-free-practices That's what I'm expecting.
  12. thought this was pretty cool. Has some other guys other than Anthony Richardson.
  13. And it very well could've(reached $100m)with an exclusive tag(s). Although, probably no reason to exclusive tag him, just match the offer whatever it was. Wonder what those deals would've looked like?
  14. Visiting the Titans today. Kinda feels like deja Vu. Some people wanted to bring in Julio, we didn't. He signs with Titans, we are worried that might come back to bite us. It didn't. Still don't want Hopkins to sign in Tennessee though.
  15. Did have 1 flaw in my post.(probably more) 2023 tag would of been 120%, so $35,643,600 Instead of $32,416,000 So yeah he made a little bit less, but took the extra guaranteed money.
  16. Just cause, why not. Going in blind as I go here, just want to find the answer. Lol I enjoy going over these things with you. 2021 5th year option - $23,016,000 2022 tag - $29,703,000 2023 tag - $32,416,000 $85,135,000 + $3,346,508(2020 cap hit*) = $88,481,508(All guaranteed with this option) Vs $88,276,651(what he was paid in those 4 years) + $2,000,000 extra on the SB = $90,276,651($141,481,905 guaranteed) *2020 cap hit might be a little higher if there was a workout or roster bonus that I can't see at the moment so all in all, yes he did do the team a favor with his contract, but he also got $53 extra guaranteed at the time(granted that was past those 4 years), which definitely helped him, while actually bringing in a potential $2m more than 5th year, tag, tag option. will also notate that the tags could of potentially been higher, if it was exclusive, but can't find those numbers, or lower because the market wasn't reset yet, if he didn't sign deal.
  17. To watch, or not to watch? That is the question. Not sure just yet..lol
  18. I'm looking forward to the young guys. Brents, Flowers, Rush have a ton of potential. Just need to get them on the field (Brents and Rush that is) injuries right now are not helping their progression.
  19. That seems a little extreme. I don't like that, not that that matters, but come on. Just tell them they can't gamble at all.
  20. Yes, this definitely seems extreme, I think the comparison on these % only really can be looked at between Mahomes and Hurts(18% difference) as both of those guys had the last year of their rookie contracts included, when they signed extension, and that drags down the overall percentage quite a bit Jackson was starting from a base of a franchise tag, so naturally his % will be higher. I don't see Hurts restructuring in first 4 years as his base salary is league minimum over that time. Nothing to restructure. Jackson, I think come year 4, that is when he will restructure, imo. He may to save a little money in year 2 or 3, but that wouldn't increase his money in first 4 years. Would still be getting that money anyway, just sending some cap hits to later years. Pretty much the same with year 4, agree though. 2026 something will need to be done with that cap hit. That was my thoughts as well, and still might be in the cards? Maybe not this year, although I thought there was some talk of it, but Mahomes doesn't want to cripple the teams cap, so he may just roll with it? Maybe just ask for more guarantees? Still some number crunching to do though.
  21. I'm sure that's what there all gonna say right now. Lol. What's "don't really dabble" really mean. Probably just some poker games. All that really matters is they don't bet on NFL and don't bet on anything at the facility. No gambling at all is the best practice though, as you've stated a couple times.
  22. He started 9 of 13 games(2 other games he played he had no defensive snaps to rate, just SPT), 69% of games, and had increased reps prior to starting. The other 4 games he got CB snaps, he played in (51%, 47%, 44%, 38%) of defensive snaps. Not like he was out here playing 10 snaps against the #4 WR, usually he was lined up outside on the teams #1/#2 on the snaps he played. Just took to long for Bradley to play him in front of his guy Facyson.
  23. All true Only thing I will say is, it's hard to compare a contract signed 4yrs ago to a contract signed now. I understand the exercise, but a tough comparison. He set the market then, and it's only increased since then. He has made substantially more over the last 3 years than Jackson and Hurts. $19m more per year($67m over span) than Jackson, and $25m more per year($75m over span) than Hurts. Rough estimate. Really just think its tough to compare Mahomes last 3yrs + this year, to Jackson and Hurts next 3 years + this year) Now over the next 3 years + this year(23-26), Mahomes is at $38,200,000 a year in new cash. So not very far behind Hurts $39.25m($1.05m more/yr) but a good chunk still behind Jackson $52m($13.8 more/yr) over those 4 years. Just think that is the more appropriate comparison. Mahomes deal was/is pretty team friendly though, no doubt. Will be interesting to see what happens with a potential new reworked deal for him? Could increase his next 4 substantially, depending how it's worked, if it is. Lamar Jackson got himself a pretty good deal for having no agent. Team might regret it in the future. Nice work on the number breakdowns.
