  1. I have heard one GM who says he thinks LTs and defensive players may go earlier than expected. Interesting ro see who wil Bowers won't be there at 15. He is special if u watch the tape.
  2. The one thing that scares me about elite wrs is that 4 years later u r paying them 30 mill plus. U have to consider that if u going to trade up for one of the elite guys. I would prefer a role wr who can be replaced if and when his 2nd contract comes around. Say get a guy like Worthy and u r scheming him to get open. That's where a guy like Bowers is in some ways a better pick if u want to move up. Not nearly as expensive long term based on te salaries and he is a true weapon.
  3. I juat don't think with how this draft is loaded, they need to throw all their resources at one guy when u could get one at 15 who could be that guy and still retain your picks. Just not a smart move.
  4. I knew someone would bring that up. Julio Jones was seen as a freak of nature. In terms of physical traits, Marvin and Nabers r not quite there. Jones was just a man amongst boys and that is a very rare trade to go up that far.
  5. Agreed. Guys will be left after the top 3 r gone. Agreed. Guys will be left after the top 3 r gone. Agreed. Guys will be left after the top 3 r gone. Agreed. Guys will be left after the top 3 r gone. Agreed. Guys will be left after the top 3 r gone.
  6. I agree with a possible trade up. I just don't think u move up from 15 to number 5 to get a wr. Teams moving up that far is always for a qb. Also, it is a rich wr draft. U r going to have to give up a haul to get him. I would rather a scenario fo maybe sliding back a little and getting Worthy if they are intent on getting that explosive wr with their 1st pick. Also, I would like to know what u think the Colts would have to move up that far? I got my own idea but wondering what u think.
  7. LB is like wr and for me and I look at affding to that after the 3rd.
  8. People I keep going back to Ballard's history and I think the 1st pick is Dline. He traded up for Buckner and a 1st rounder in Paye who's 5th year most likely won't be picked up. I just see a gaping hole at RDE and Ballard preaches the trenches. For this D to work, it's needs a great pass rush. U rush with 4 and will be rotsting a lot. U make the secondary better by improving the rush.
  9. I think DE is a huge need. Don't look at the sack stats. As the game wore on into thr 4th quarter, the rush disappeared. That's why we saw a lof of blown games. Couldn't rush the passer on the 4th and the qbs picked apart the zone coverages.
  10. I think people know I favor a DE or corner at 15. However, how would people feel if they went Murphy? I know people see it as a strength with Buckner and Stewart. Buckner has just resigned, however he will be 31. Stewart is primarily a run first DT. By drafting Murphy, u could be getting your 3 tech of the future, and they are hard to get. If Richardon becomes a star, it might be their only chance to swing this early in the draft for a position u covet. U could also have a great interior pass rush and therefore affecting the opposing teams Oline and in essence making the D as a whole better. We all know Ballard loves the 3tech and showed that by trading a 1st for Buckner. Could be an interesting wrinkle to the draft.
  11. Also, I think u can throw a lot of those run stats out last year as the Colts played some horrendous qbs. I would look at the games against good qbs who had balanced offences. I think u may see some differences in how they matched up. Easier to focus on stopping the run when u got a garbage qb who really offers little resistance to the opposing defense. This D has proved over the last 7 years that when it plays a good qb with a good offence, it will get lit up both against the run and pass. And by chance, if it does have a good game against the run, I bet the very good qb leaves the game with HOF stats.
  12. Scharager has never been right and just throws his predictions at the wall hoping out of 50 of them, one may come true. No way Colts move up to 4. No way Arizona moves out of 4 to pick at 15 plus whatever else the Colts offer.
  13. I would consider Buckner a man however I would prefer our ends to be a little beefier. Our linebackers are on the light side, and I get it as they prefer them built that way so that it will assist them in pass coverage. I am not confident at all going into the season with our secondary and that includes our safeties. Just more questions then answers.
  14. That has always been my issue going back to the Polian years. They preferred undersized players to fit this scheme. That was great when they had a lead and played indoors. The problem is that teams started running the ball to keep Peyton on the bench. Plus, u get in bad weather and on grass, their speed is negated and they are just a bunch of undersized players getting blown off the ball. I am in favor of building a team that can play in any environment and that can run various schemes. I see flexibility with the offence, however the D is the same old. That's why I think this is an important draft defensively. Will the Colts stray from their previous tendancies of drafting players that fit the Seattle scheme or will they deviate and say draft a man corner? Last year we were all on the edge of our seats when a trade was made at 3. Will we get our qb at 4? We were all on pins and needles till they made that pick. This draft has that same excitement for me. At 15 will Ballard and company do something different? This team needs a play maker on D and I contend that is their biggest need. I don't believe they get that player moving back. Sure u may get him at 15 but if u really want a playmaker, this just might be the year to say move up and get a guy like Mirchell and Latu who may fall because of the medical. I am not in favor of getting a wr or te. Richardson, if he is the guy, should deliver explosive plays with our current roster. Jot a fan of Gus and this scheme, but I really don't think he has a lot to work with and Ballard kind of eluded to that in his post season pressers.
  15. Do u realize how much it would cost to move up to #5 for a receiver?
  16. I agree on how the Colts view Cooper. He is a zone corner and if they drafted him, it would be in the 2nd.
  17. Well, it's not that we would do much worse than him..cough cough. He is below 500 over 7 years. I'm just saying.
  18. I listened to the Micheal Lombardi show today. I have said my liking of Mitchell and more recently, Latu before listening to his podcast.. It was today's podcast, so I am no mirroring what he said. He thinks Mitchell is a top 10 pick and likes Latu over Turner but it's the medical for Latu. I would love Colts to make a move for either. This is the year lol.
  19. Nope it isn't. But I screamed for years during the draft. U had Mathis and Freemey. I wanted that 3 tech. I thought if Polian had gotten that guy, we would have been unbeatable. I was all for going all in and making a splash trade. They finally got Simon and look how the D looked, and then they got Booger. I thought those moves should have been made years before they happened.
  20. it was a hell of run but more questions about what it could have been with a couple of tweaks here and there .
  21. The defense had one talent and that was to rush the passer. Once teams started running on them, they were by far less effective. They were undersized and built to protect a lead.
  22. U r intent on building a team with an offense but having a defense that has no talent. Welcome to Manning 2.0
