  1. People should listen to Lombardi on MacAfee show and talking about the drafting of a wr. Only 27% of wrs drafted in the 1st round make it to a 2nd contract. Oline is the safest.
  2. Yup. I fnd him very tiring. This draft is going to tell me if there is a philosophical change in Ballard. If Mitchell is sitting there and they let someone swoop in and take him, I will be very unhappy lol. Taking a guy like Mitchell or Diggins tells me a change in Ballard's approach when it comes to team building. Trading up for Mitchell tells me that he has really changed as he traded up and picked a man corner. That would be a major change as he gambled and picked a corner that is not proficient at zone.
  3. I want a move to get a possible playmaker with the 1st pick. Balard trades down and I don't see a playmaker on the defensive side.
  4. Nothing is stupid if u view that player as a difference maker.
  5. Historic Success Chart The numbers show us the following outline for finding consistent starters: 1st Round - OL (83%) LB (70%) TE (67%) DB (64%) QB (63%) WR (58%) RB (58%) DL (58%) 2nd Round - OL (70%) LB (55%) TE (50%) WR (49%) DB (46%) QB (27%) DL (26%) RB (25%) 3rd Round - OL (40%) TE (39%) LB (34%) DL (27%) WR (25%) DB (24%) QB (17%) RB (16%) 4th Round - DL (37%) TE (33%) OL (29%) LB (16%) WR(12%) DB (11%) RB (11%) QB (8%) 5th Round - TE (32%) DB (17%) WR (16%) OL (16%) DL (13%) RB (9%) LB (4%) QB (0%) 6th Round - TE (26%) OL (16%) DL (13%) WR (9%) DB (8%) RB (6%) LB (5%) QB (0%) 7th Round - DB (11%) OL (9%) QB (6%) WR (5%) DL (3%) LB (2%) RB (0%) TE (0%)
  6. Once u get past a certain pick in the 1st the rest are 2ne rounders. Interesting that Lombardi has 12 1st rounders and Ballard had between 19-21
  7. If he trades down, I could see him getting Cooper and Arnold.
  8. From the postion we pick, I would target Mitchell. He may take a trade up but he is the guy I get with my 1st pick.
  9. Absolutely driven by agents. That is the one trade up I could live with. This team needs a legit man corner to make this D more diverse. I still say based on Ballard's comments, he is going to stock the D for Gus and give him a chance.
  10. I have said that if the Colts trade up it would be for Mitchell and not wr.
  11. Actually, I think the Colts would have him rated higher as a safety than a corner. He is a typical zone corner, any those start coming off the board in the 2nd. He is probably seen as the highest rated safety even though he played mostly of career as a corner. It isca weak safety drafted, so he could come off the board in the 1st.
  12. Agreed. However everything that comes out of his mouth should should be taken with a grain of salt.
  13. Hooker. Didn't love up to hype. Nelson easy pick as generational. Buckner was 49ers pick and we traded for him. Paye has been a disappointment. AR looks good but needs time.
  14. He has a lot of versatility and a lot of teams see him as a safety and the highest safety on the board. I believe the Colts view him as both. He could very valuable going into the season. If the corners don't play well, you could try him at one of the corner spots. If the corners look good, you can slide him to safety. U could slide him to what ever position is needing it the most. . To me he is a late 1st rounder mostly 2nd. He could get drafted in the 1st to play by most teams. If you are drafting him to play corner, he to me is a 2nd rounder
  15. Exactly!! The market has spoken and most likely Simmons and his agent overvalue his worth. One thing we know about the NFL, they will overpay. They go hard the 1st day and overpay and most teams spend their money. The money is usually gone and the dust settles. Got this from PFF who most people love on this site. "It’s important to Julian Blackmon is a good player, but the free agent is far from perfect. His 68.3 PFF grade made him the 38th-best safety out of 95 eligible players, but that’s largely due to his coverage abilities. The safety missed seven tackles last year, finishing the season with a below-average 59.2 grade against the run. If teams are looking for a box safety, Julian Blackmon is not the free agent they should be targeting. However, in today’s pass-happy NFL, you need a player who can discourage deep shots" What i find alarming from this is Blackmon's strengths are suppose to be against the run and weakness against the pass lol
  16. So disagree that the market dictates your value to the league and even inflates it on the 1st day? If he was seen as a legit starting SS by the league, I am sure he would have been offered an extension by the Colts and/or another team. Its pretty simple actually. I honestly dont know why people on here are opposing my views on Blackmon. He is just a good safety and that is it. Due to injuries and play, he has not established himself as anyting other than slightly average.
  17. The open market dictates your value in the league. If Blackmon has a great year and can prove he is the guy, then I am sure it will warrant an extension by the Colts and/or another team.
  18. In an offensive league wouldn't it be prudent to have some sort of a defense? Do you plan on out scoring teams 37-35 every game? Plus like i have said in other posts. You go all pass happy and you will leave Richardson open up for injury if you are passing all day . This team paid Taylor big money and I expect this team to still be run centric and I think that is going to surprise people. Protect the defense by burning time and keeping them off the field. You score, they score, you score, they score and its a vicious cycle lol.
  19. Plus, you dont think that Ballard would have been pushing for a long term deal if he was a play making safety? Signing players to an extension is seen as a sign that as a GM, you made a good pick because the player made it to a 2nd contract. I dont consider a one year deal a second contract plus Ballard boasts that you want to make the effort to keep your guys. Plus, if Blackmon was worth it, another team would have signed him to a deal. The interest wasnt there and he came back to the Colts
  20. Players dont want to play on a one year deal. If he was seen as a valuable safety, the Colts would have signed him to a long term extension. There is no doubt that Blackmon wanted one as well, but he has not proved anyting that would warrant a raise and/or a long term deal. Look at the players they resigned to extensions this year. The ones they signed long term, were seen as no brainers by the front office. Blackmon is not a stellar safety. When you listen to Blackmon's comments, I never get the sense that he wanted to a one year deal.
  21. I once said a trade up to get that guy but i think the top D players will be off the board by the time the Colts pick. I know a lot of people here are thinking wr but if you really listen to Ballard, he feels that Richardson is going to bring explosive plays to the offense. I really think they are going to trade back and try to get a 3rd or even another 2nd. Could see a scenario of FS, corner and wr with first 3 picks
  22. Agreed. I am really hoping defense with 1st two picks. I believe this team needs a FS and corner badly.
  23. Sure we may score 32 points a game but I bet we give up the same on defence. Defense needs talent big time. Need a starting corner, free safety, and RDE. And even if the Colts offered all 7 picks, it wouldn't be enough lol
  24. I don't think Mitchell makes it that far. If he did slide out of top 10, I think a trade would be made.
