  1. I have more faith in the Colts as I think Steichen carries a lot of weight in that building. He will build the offence and now Ballard and Gus can focus on thr D which HD hasn't been able to build in 7 years.
  2. Lol. Don't buy into stats. They set a sack record. Did it feel like they had a dominant pass rush last year? They couldn't close out games because they couldn't rush the passer in the 4th quarter. If the pass rush is legit based on last year's stats, then why did Ballard pursue Hunter? If they are legit then why mostly likely won't they pick up Paye's fifth year. If I have to tell u what is an acceptable winning percentage, then u really don't get it.
  3. I don't bash Ballard's drafting philosophy per se. The issue is that he had not been able to hit on that pass rushing Dend after 7 years. He has continually drafted to try and get one wasting picks that could have been used on say a take the top off wr that everyone has wanted for 7 years. Seeing a pattern yet??
  4. Never bashed him on Hunter. I understand why it never occurred. I thoughtvthey should have made a push for Sneed. Could have taken corner off our board.
  5. It does say a lot about a league and their desire to truly want to win when a 6 time superbowl coach is unemployed. No matter his age, it just says a lot about people wanting to protect their jobs and less interested in winning. Vrabel was the same. No GM went after him because Vrabel is a type A and much like Harbaugh, he needs full control to get it done.
  6. Hunter's contract was basically full guaranteed, and we know Irsay and his belief in fully guaranteed contracts. He also wanted to be closer to family.
  7. He wanted Hunter but Texans wanted to much guaranteed. I would have liked Sneed snd I think that was mistep and it filled a need but Ballard didn't want to fork over a 3rd.
  8. Good answer. Think Shane will get the offense handled. I think he is going to have a lot of influence in picking the players for the offense. Ballard and Gus need to get the D fixed and if the two of them just focus on that, then I am good moving forward.
  9. Oh brother. So then how would u rate the Colts under Ballard and give reasons for how u rate him?
  10. He is not employed because what GM will hire him? Every GM front office guy knows that once Bill walks thru those doors, no one's job is safe and he will be cleaning house. Hiring Bill will come from an owner and only when they get sick and tired of losing and know a complete over haul is needed.
  11. Of course Harrison and Nabers make u better. The only issue is that u basically give up all your resources to get one player and u cannot fill any holes and this team has holes. U get Harrison and u put all the pressure on AR to score 30 plus points a game because your D is horrible. Ballard wants to protect AR. U make this a track team with no ability to stop the other team, and u will expose him to injury.
  12. I would argue this. The best Dline player, Buckner, they got in a trade. The best safety, Adam's, they picked up free agency. The best corner, Gilmore, they picked up in free agency. Seeing a pattern? 28th in points against.
  13. They are under manned. Tell me this. In 7 years what safety and/or corner had been extended to a 2nd contract under Ballard? Excluse Moore as he isa Nicole.
  14. That is hoping. To much of that around here.
  15. Well, they were injured and when they played, they got burned. That last game in Houston told me a lot.
  16. I agree u don't need to go early, but I would be picking starting corners in the 2nd and 3rd for this scheme. Besides Brents, were not the other guys picked at least after the 5th round? Could one of them shock us and be that guy besides Brents? Maybe but u are sure asking a lot for 3 corners picked after the 5th round to be our number 2 corner. To boot, Brents hasnt even shown that he is a legit starting corner.Plus, Ballard has been drafting corners and safeties in the 1st and 2nd, and they have not amounted to much. Therefore, how am I going to have much confidence in him striking gold after the 5th? Don't bring up Kenny as he is a Nicole corner
  17. U do realize that the returning young secondary players were not really great coming out of college? If I am correct Brents, cant stay healthy, was the only high pick and the others were very late picks. Not a lot to hand your hat on in terms of hope.
  18. Yeah I loved it when he said they played better in the 2nd half. It was to late by that team as,Ryan was shell shocked and the team couldn't recover from its miserable start.
  19. The more I watch Ballard's presser, I think he trades back. I thought this was the year to move up but I think he is going to address the offensive line with Smith and Kelly up. To many holes , as he sees it, to move up to acquire secondary starter and Oline depth.
  20. I think the best fit for what they need in a wr is Thomas. He should be there at 15. The best Db fit is probably Cooper who is somewhat of a hybrid if they were looking for him to come and be that FS and can also play nickel. I picked Cooper if they play the same old D. If they seek to go with a man corner to change it up, I love Mitchell but he is probably off the board. I also like Higgins if they want a man corner. He is light but man can he run and has great recovery speed. If they don't go corner in the 1st, they will address it later in the draft but not a fan of the other corners in the 1st. I don't see TE as a need and I really doubt Bowers makes it out of the top 10. DE is always a need and Latu is intriguing as he could slide. I do think this team needs speed at both wr and corner. I think that the Houston game at the end of the season really brought forth our lack of talent in the secondary. I listened to Ballard's presser, and he said more than a couple of times, I think", when asked about the secondary. He made those same mistakes about the O and Line. I am hoping he doesn't repeat the same mistakes. I just cannot beleive he is going into the season with this bunch in the secondary. If he does, it will cost him his job.
  21. Well there u go. U answered my question. So a 100% is considering acing the test and/or task. I assume based on your grading system, less than %50 would be crapping the bed?? I don't have 100% disdain for Ballard. Based on what he has done in Indy, I have less than 50% faith that he can build a superbowl team.
  22. Based on what? Honestly, I would like u to give me reasons as to why the fan base should not be concerned bout this secondary.
  23. I really shouldn't have to answer that. It's winning percentage, play off appearances, play off wins, division titles and AFC titles. Where do u think we rank when we consider all of those bearing in mind we also played in a joke division for the last 7 years.
