  1. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/03/01/jayden-daniels-explains-unselfish-reason-testing-nfl-combine Seems like alot of the top prospects didn't test. This report says Jayden Daniels didn't test because it would bring more scouts to his pro day, and his teammates would gain more exposure that way.
  2. This is who I want at TE, if we dont get Bowers. I think he would round out our TE room well.
  3. He could of just said he puts mayo in his coffee lol
  4. I don't necessarily want a corner, but I would be happy with him at 15
  5. I googled Paye's RAS template and they're very similar. Paye didn't run shuttle or 3 cone.
  6. I was unaware of that. Yeah that's a bad look.
  7. I disagree with the beginning. Even if I make $18 million, I'm not going to want to lose out on any money. He has one shot to make as much money as possible and he is gonna milk it for as much as it's worth, as he should IMO. I can understand the want to see competitivness and show he is better than everyone else. Who knows, maybe his lack of a combine performance makes being #1 unattainable now. Which means he loses out on that money. I think his stock is secure where he is at though.
  8. I agree with this for the most part. The only thing is they have alot of money on the line. MHJ is going top 5 atm. Not going to raise any further. He could tear his ACL during these tests and loose out on being a top 5 pick and all the money that comes with it. It's a business decision. Now for Ford, I agree with whichever post said that it's a huge red flag. Dude must be slow as syrup.
  9. I say BPA at a position of need to save myself from the posts of "what if a qb is the best available". I believe in BPA and common sense should prevail if you have a top player at the position. What's considered a need is a whole conversation in itself. Do we consider upgrading a certain player who is adequate a need? I wouldn't say a need but if the opportunity presents itself let's take it. How far into the future does something become a need. We're reaching the Costanzo situation where we didn't have an heir on the roster, but for multiple spots now. LG, C, and RT are all filled with aging players. We have some time for LG hopefully, but Kelly and Smith are taking lumps (Freeman could possibly repalce Smith). The teams needs arnt as cut and dry as years past where it was "Fix the lines. Yes both of them." I agree we have needs all over the defensive side of the ball. Safety is a weak position group, and needs to be fixed. There isn't a starter quality player in that group. Even if Blackmon comes back we need more. That's the only position group that needs outright fixing IMO. We need a stud pass rusher but so do most teams. If we get a chance at one we have to take it. Might not work but gotta take the chance. The rest of the needs would be upgrades (experienced CB), depth that can become the starter one day (backup NT and slot CB), and just outright depth (3T). You can put LB in any of the three spots. Offense is looking for a top WR, TE room needs fresh talent (Theo Johnson please), and Oline depth that can grow into starters. Backup qb could be interesting. That's how I view the needs. Not a ranking.
  10. My bad. Wrong prospect. I think I might be reading to many scouting reports and starting to mix information lol. Keon Coleman went to Michigan St and wasn't spectacular there vs this last season. Yeah its all opinion. To each their own. I agree that it won't be WR in the first unless Nabers or Odunze fall. BPA even at a position of need will point to a defensive prospect IMO.
  11. Brian Thomas to me is a boom or bust kind of pick. Will he be LSU Brian, or Michigan St. Brian. The biggest thing I question about him is if was really that dominant this past year, or if he flourished because most of the attention was on Nabers. Saying that, a good showing this week and he will probably be solidified as WR4 on many boards. Personally, I wouldn't be happy if we took him at 15. There's gonna be better available talent.
  12. I had no idea Urlacher played safety in college. Thanks for that.
  13. Don't all teams draft certain players and avoid other players to match their scheme? We arnt looking at EDGE's most likely even though we need to put pressure on the QB. We're looking at pass rushing DE's. Is it the DC's fault we don't make an attempt for Dallas Turner? No, he dosnt fit what we do.
  14. How many broken tackles were in that video? Lol. He would make a great 1 2 with Taylor.
  15. Theo Johnson would be a good pick for us. He is about as complete a TE prospect as you're gonna get.
  16. I'm perfectly fine with that. His stock will be interesting to see post combine.
  17. My draft target is Jalin McMillian, Washington. He is completely under rated. Someone that could be there in the third round. He runs good routes and is able to adjust his speed during the route to create separation. He is just going to need to bulk up to be able to handle press coverage better. Had a knee injury in 2023 where Michigan State defender landed on him and the knee went awkward. Came back the same season. If it wasn't for that he would of had back to back 1000 yard seasons. I think he has a high ceiling and a fairly high floor.
  18. Abrams would end up on blocks in circle center lol
  19. Dallis Flowers and Jaylon Jones would be amazing backups, and theres noyhing wrong with that. Its actually a good thing. Flowers is going to need to take it easy on that ACL this year anyways. Let them grow slowly.
  20. Ebukam would switch to the strong side. Huff would just play the LEO role. Ebukam does well against the run as well as pass. Just not great. Anyone we bring in is gonna be a gamble. Unless we find a unicorn DE, we're gonna take a dip on run defense. Paye is good in that department, but we want pressures. So were sacrifice the run defense a bit to bolster the pass rush pressures. Ebukam said he came here for the money at 3 year $24 mil, $9 mil garunteed. Both were backup pass rushers. If we can swing that contract for one year at least, then it's an open competition for starting reps. Winner gets a payday that matches production. This is all fun to speculate, but most likely the only FA DE Ballard is looking at is Lewis. Anyone new coming in is probably going to be from the draft.
  21. Latu is really about the only pass rusher in the first round that could be what we are looking for. If it is him he is coming in to replace Paye on obvious passing downs. I would rather spend the money for experience in the secondary vs Hunter. If we didn't have Ebukam I'd take him. With how much he is going to cost, and his age, I don't think he fits our lineup well. Huff on the other hand can just push Paye out of the way if he preforms well.
  22. I agree with this, but I do have a question on Mitchell. Does he deserve the ballhawk name when 2/3 of his career interceptions came off of one game against a really bad qb? This is just something I have wondered while looking at him. I think he will be the pick unless a top wr sneaks to us somehow.
  23. The draft is filled with good options for us. Even as far as the third round I think we can find some quality. Hope we don't wait that long.
  24. I see the positions differently. My understanding might be off. Here's my thinking. I agree the X needs to be able to beat their guy at the line. End of the formation on the line of scrimmage. I think Harrison, Pittman, and Pierce can do that. They don't necessarily have to win down the field. It's great if they can, but you want a bully. He's gonna wear press coverage down with his own physicality over the game and he will make the tough catches. That's Pittman to me. I think Pierce is the other kind of X that is more of a beat the man at the line of scrimmage and get downfield. To me the Z should be the star receiver specializing in explosive plays and a have complete route tree. Preferred to be quick and fast. He needs to flat out beat any coverage in front of him. Use him in motion if the press coverage can beat him at the line. We've had Pitt playing this role because he is our best receiver. I think Harrison would shine hear because while he can beat his man at the line, getting him a free release would be way better. Downs will grow more here hopefully. There's a bunch of different flavors of slot receivers but the main thing is find the soft spot in coverage consistently. Really, Harrison is pumped up as one of the greats that should be good anywhere you put him. Him, Pittman, Downs, and Pierce would make a great WR room for us. As I finish this I think to myself "too bad it won't happen". Lol
