I sent Bowen an email after that interview telling him how much I appreciated it. It was touching, honest, and gave a great insight to him as a football player and a person. Bowen is really good about writing back. I also told him to help Ballard by explaining that he’s using the word ‘convicted’ (as in - when you’re convicted on a player) wrong. He really means he has conviction. Kevin said he’d let me offer that to Ballard, lol!

Hey, it’s a guy with experience who’s been around and has played. Nothing wrong with that.

Not at his level, but Moss is no slouch. He did average over 5 yd/carry his last three games. So the cupboard isn’t completely bare.

I hope he doesn’t play in the Bears scrimmage either.

Practice is important. But it’s less important for veterans in certain positions. JT knows what hole to hit and who to block. The only thing he has to learn is how to catch passes from the new QBs. He’ll be fine.

This will be my favorite “no patience” thread until two minutes after the first preseason game. I’m counting on a “same old Colts, unimaginative offense. Defense can’t rush the passer”, etc. They really do give us a laugh, so I’m grateful.

I don’t play Madden, but you’re right. Not only the graphics but how the players interact with each other between plays, etc.

He can, but it would be meaningless. Wearing a red shirt is great for him. He needs to work on his passing game, we know he can run.

Just try to remember that camp is a zero sum game. If the WRs are killing it, that also means the DBs are getting smoked. If the pass rushers are regularly getting to the QB, it also means the Oline isn’t doing their job. In other words, take all the reports with a grain of salt.

Hopefully the new Oline coach is a better judge of talent than the old one, and he can see if there’s a glaring need. After last seasons fiasco, there should be no second chances in going with no competition.

LBs (and pass rushers) are smaller, but faster, because it’s a passing league. A power run game could work to wear them down. You have to have the long play threat to keep them from just playing the run though. But coaches adjust really fast. Didn’t the Chiefs run a wing T, or something to that effect, for a few games back in the 70s? It was a team that lost their QB. It worked for a few games.

DBs reputation (and play) account for a lot of sacks. We probably won’t be rushing more than four very often because that D backfield is going to be so inexperienced. I hate to see five yard cushions but I expect we’ll see a lot of it until the coaches start having confidence in the backfield.

Wow! We must have gone undefeated with that kind of defensive pressure! Seriously though, I wish they’d blitz more. Too many plays where the QB can scan the field for the open receiver.
