  1. That was my point when I responded to that post. He didn’t say he was pulled over because there was prejudice at him being a billionaire. He said that was why he was arrested.
  2. He never said that’s why he was pulled over. Read the article.
  3. I read that article and thought it was trash. The writer went out of his way to make it about race. On the surface what Jim said is true, high profile people are treated differently than the general populous. For good and bad. I applaud Jim for speaking his mind. Even if you’re not allowed to have an unpopular opinion anymore for fear of being cancelled.
  4. The two ones were from last season. I think they’re going to keep him, but the closer it gets to the end of his contract, the less leverage theyll have. Probably franchise him. IMHO, he’s worth a 1.
  5. We have a potential mismatch with Ogletree and even MAC. But we rarely use the TEs anyway.
  6. He’s basically a very nice Bill Belicheck.
  7. Exactly. The correlation between great GM and great QB is obvious. You really can’t be a great GM without one (isn’t that right Mr. Belichick?). Now that Ballard has the low cost franchise QB (and I think he does) there’s no excuses.
  8. Of course the players agent is going to get a second opinion. That doesn’t make it false. If you’re interested, this article explains it well. https://www.theinjurysource.com/post/montezsweat#:~:text=Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a,is also pronounced “hocum”. Getting back to Ballard, IMHO you get a needed player when they’re available. You want to improve your team, no matter when. I think we have the QB and LT. I don’t think any would say we have the elite edge. @MikeCurtis I think an elite edge is worth the price. Just MHO, but put Young or Burns next to Buck and Grove, with Kwity setting the edge…scary!
  9. I think you’re right, he’s a rental. But we had the chance to rent him, get to know him, and maybe make the first offer. Or not, if they didn’t think he was the guy. Worst case, we waste a draft pick. (How many #2s have we wasted already?) Best case, we finally have an edge rusher that teams would be concerned about.
  10. For sure with Sweat and Young. BTW, Sweat’s heart condition was misdiagnosed. We also could have gone after Williams, but I can understand not doing that. What I really wanted to see was Ballard making a run for Brian Burns. He most likely will be moving on next season. And I’m not talking about what they could do for us this season, I’m taking the long haul. Or we can keep drafting them and hope one turns out…. Kwity, Dayo, Lewis, all good players. None of them great.
  11. The building block players of any successful team are QB, LT, and Pass Rusher. We think we have the first two. Ballard had a chance to pick up the third one, but apparently they were all too expensive for him. I still don’t understand why. Any of the three would be an improvement. And if they don’t work out, you move on. I think Ballard likes draft picks better than players sometimes.
  12. Back when Chuck was coaching I had the opportunity to visit the practice facility. They took me into Jim’s “storage” room. It had tons of very valuable items that didn’t make the museum. Some just laying around, like original lyrics handwritten by famous musicians. Not to mention all the football memorabilia, even from the Baltimore days. He’s a cool guy, I don’t care what people say about him. And he’s passionate about winning.
  13. It would be very easy to believe that an official could easily influence a game if he wanted. You can just look back at the phantom calls in last nights Ravens game. Or our Cleveland game.
  14. Never! The world needs more bad guitar players like me!
  15. Thats a great guitar. I had an SG back in the day. I could kick myself for selling it. @FanFromtheWasteland I also have an older Mexican. I set it to Nashville tuning. I have to stop myself though, I could easily have GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and want to buy more! …and now, back to the Colts!
  16. Not what you think. Jim just bought Eric Claptons guitar, “Fool”. He got it at a bargain, $1.27 million. Makes my used American Strat, $350 about 30 years ago, seem like a steal! Congrats Jim! https://www.guitarworld.com/news/eric-clapton-the-fool-gibson-sg-auction-sale
  17. The Colts should move up in the all important Power Poll. There are only about 7 teams in the league that could possibly beat them. So they should be ranked no lower than 8th, right?
  18. My only concern about AR is his longevity. I think his accuracy is good and will get better. But it’s all moot if he’s not available for games. Lamar has played 12 games the last two years. We need AR to be a mobile QB, not a running QB.
  19. Actually, you're not the only one. Don't feel bad. Just look at the weekly prediction thread. No one here (including me) can guess the future.
  20. If he didn't hurt his wrist, he would have started at OSU. But Haskins had a record setting year and beat TTUN, so no one is complaining. (If only they had a defense that year...)
  21. Young doesn't have much talent around him. But before the season started, people said the same thing about Houston. A lot of pundits had them as the worst team in the league. Young definitely needs help with the Oline. Stroud was always my #1 (and not just because I'm a Buckeye). He's a very accurate pocket passer who can move when necessary. An ideal NFL QB. He's showing that a good QB can make a mediocre team dangerous. Let's hope AR can stay healthy and continue to flash. (But, dang it, there are a lot of really good QBs in next years draft)
  22. Actually, Lincoln did NOT have a secretary named Kennedy! (Oh, is this the wrong thread for that? Sorry)
  23. I'm not going back through a hundred messages. But I was just laughing about all the people here who didn't want Stroud. "No Ohio State QB is ever going to be good in the NFL!" You know who you are...
  24. No doubt. He’s WR #3. But he’s a decent player. Maybe when they look at the film and see how open he’s been they’ll start throwing to him more. Look, this team isn’t going anywhere with Minshew. They need to work on developing players like him and Downs, and the young TEs. Get them ready for AR.
  25. Pierce can’t catch the ball if they don’t throw to him. He was open a lot today. And he’s a great run blocker. Sometimes people get too wrapped up in stats and don’t see the game.
