      "1965- Malcolm X is assassinated"

This fateful day still infuriates me to this day. Malcolm had a brilliant mind, came full circle from "The Chickens have come home to roost" to the Civil Rights Movement needs people of every race, gender, & creed to promote lasting change for the better.

I hold Malcolm in higher esteem than I do Martin Luther King Jr. today actually.

Yes PT I'm with you , While your at it there was a crash in Greene Co a van with 2 families , both wifes all the kids I think around 5 were all killed in a burning van why the fathers and police tried to rescue them , police had to hold the fathers back and both fathers were burnt severely , they were airlifted for burns. The emotional scars will be devastating . They need our prayers and thoughts.

Is this status update a acknowledgement of the Grammies as a music celebration PT? I only ask because, if so, I never watch that particular show. It probably has something to do with the fact that light pop isn't my thing & I can't stand singer Taylor Swift who is not a good musician at all & she thinks she a white, Oprah Winfrey or something.

Or is it Grandmother's special day? If so, cool & happy birthday!

    2. PrincetonTiger

It would have been my Grandmother "GrammyRee's" 101 Birthday

Oh, okay. Thank you for clearing up this mystery. You sound like you were very close to your Grandmother PT. Sorry to hear that she is gone. My deepest sympathies. Yes, losing a person you were extremely close to is never easy.

Since I'm not from Indiana personally, I had to google Matt's name & learn more about him. It sounds like he was a beloved DJ & nice, community man. My condolences to his friends, family, & co-workers.

It really bothers me when good natured people perish in such a gruesome fashion like this. Justice must be served in this case as Jay Kirk so astutely said.

Was Mr. Lueking mainly a sports analyst or strictly a spin records, music guy? In any case, nobody deserves to leave this world in such a crude & vicious way.

    3. PrincetonTiger

      PrincetonTiger

SW he was a music DJ on the radio and at Weddings and such

    4. Jay Kirk

      Jay Kirk

He was a music DJ on one of the Country Music outlets her and as you stated very involved in the community. The prosecutor here is a friend of mine, believe me they will be brought to justice.

HA HA HA! I used to work outside in this stuff...itchy is just awful :)

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Yes, if you do have to step outside with these bitterly cold windchills cover all exposed skin especially your ears. I got frostbite there once & ever since then I'm very protective of my ears. Hey 100GFB, you gotta tell us the story now. Can you water it down? Any tale worthy of a warning point has got to be a fantastic story right? Please. Ask Nadine if a warning point can be transferred to someone else. SW1 will take the symbolic bullet for you on this one my friend. Ha! Ha...

    4. alawai

      alawai

Hint SW1 you said water it down! A soldier that served in Korea said it got cold and the rifle would freeze. You're in a hostile environment and the enemy is attacking. You've got to do what you got to do, warm water would do and the only warm water you've got is from one of you body function! Either you p** on your rifle or throw snow balls at the enemy! Your decision!
