Samford is playing some very good ball, may be a mid major to advance a few lines on March bracket.  17-2 and have won 17 in a row after 2 straight losses.  Bucky McMillian can coach and Achor Achor will be in the NBA soon. They have scored more points than any team this season avg 90.4 a game only Kentucky comes close.

Gave Kansas all they could handle and caught the national media's attention. Bucky Ball is here to stay this isnt a 1 year wonder team, this program is going to be here for awhile.

Washington State is quietly putting together a very nice season out west, 2nd fewest NCAA Tournament appearances among power conferences (Also 2nd longest drought)  they sit second in the Pac 12 at 20-6  (11-4 Pac 12) with 7 wins in a row. They are led by Freshman cancer survivor Myles Rice.. here is a very nice read.

Cougars got job done, on to the 32.

  3. Going to be very close for final bids. This site has 103 expert brackets and break down each in depth. Looks like the following

    Last 4 in

    1)Texas A M on 85 brackets,  avg.  seed 10.42

    2)Oklahoma on 95 brackets, avg.  seed 10.12

3)Mich State on 103 brackets, avg seed 10.10

    4)Colorado on 100 brackets,  avg. seed 9.99

    First 4 out

    1)St John's on 75 brackets, avg. 10.63

    2)Virginia on 49 brackets, avg.   10.92

    3)S, Hall on 29 brackets, avg,     10.93

    4)Providence on 12 brackets, avg 11.08

    5)Indiana st on 11 brackets, avg 10.91

So looks to be a 2 team race as TAM is .30 behind next closest team to bubble and St Johns ahead by .29 on next club trying to get in .21 is cutting hairs. Both TAM and St John's on a wide majority will be quite interesting.

I said Iowa and was wrong.  It was Illinois who beat Ohio State.   I think Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska will all get in.  Outside of that, in the Big 10, Northwestern and Michigan State have an outside chance.

I think Mich state is 3rd on Bubble so fairly safe as only 3 bid stealers are left and all would have to win.

I think Oregon is likely over Colorado, UAB and Temple each in semis would need 2 wins to capture America and both have uphill battles vs the 2 Florida powerhouses today in USF and FAU.  Finally NC State with a miracle win yesterday may not have much in the tank vs the Tar Heels but we shall see.

    My Bubble

    1)Virginia- It bursts

2)St Johns-Sweating it but make it

3)Mich St- Sweating it but make it

A lot of good games today, Ill likely be watching that Atlantic 10 mess sort itself out,  Nebraska vs Illini,Marquette vs Uconn and Oregon vs Colorado while flipping for stretches.  As a college hoops fan nothing like these 2 weeks.

I actually like Nebraska, Tominaga the next Japanese NBA star IMO and the Danish Power Forward who came over from Bradley Mast is a very solid complement. Always like Fred "Mayor" Hoiberg going back to his college days, he has turned around this struggling program. We will see how far they got in Big 10 and then the Big Dance but I think Round of 32 with a shot at sweet 16 depending whom they get round 2.

Tominaga is on fire with 18 in the first half and hitting from deep down town.  Nebraska is the only team from the Power 6 in Basketball without an NCAA win sitting at 0-7.

Every team is going to have them, it's going to happen.  What are our weakest positions when it comes to depth?

Here are my priorities in order:

CB - The third starter, Jones, is weak already, we have a small sample size for Flowers, and we're counting on JuJu to continue to improve.  Don't have a backup slot.  We really need help here.

WR - I like Pierce, and hopefully his talents will be used more with AR.  If Dulin is back, he can be a decent X or Y.   MPJ and Downs are legit.  Very weak group.

S - They have to sign Blackmon or a vet here. Very inexperienced group.

Interior OL - I liked Pinter at C but he's not on the team, French may be decent.

RB - If JT goes down, I think we can survive with a committee.

IMHO, we need to get a veteran CB and S.  Hopefully we get a WR in the draft.

I think Jones played well above his draft spot and had a solid season for a Rookie, he should continue to improve and be a solid piece of the bench when needed. He was never supposed to come in and start 10 games and take 787 snaps. He actually only allowed 56% completion percentage as opposed to Brents 65%. We definitely need a solid vet signing to start and help all 3 of the youngsters develop (4 if you count Ameer Speed who was drafted higher then Jones).

MIN could have gotten JJ, Nix or Penix from #11. They are shooting higher.

This move to get #23 feels like they are eyeing #3 (assuming CHI and WAS aren't open for business). Might even have the framework in place.

The way QB's stock rise right before draft no guarantees, many have JJ going top 5 now so him dropping to 11 would be a risk

As you may notice, this trade currently leaves the Vikings without a single pick on Day 2, but the flexibility it gives them to target a quarterback on Day 1 is taking top priority for GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. In his latest mock draft, CBS Sports NFL Draft analyst Josh Edwards had the Vikings trading up as high as the No. 5 overall pick with the Chargers to select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Is this the end of Sam?

Not yet, when we bring in a rookie QB to compete for the 3rd spot then that could be the end of Sam. Likely late round pick or priority rookie free agent. I think Emory Jones who is close friends and started over AR in college could be in play.

Alright, I'm of firm belief that we are for sure in on Justin Simmons at this point. Still some good safety options out there.

Not sure on the Snead situation, I am fine either way. I like our CB room but wouldn't be against adding to it by any means. Some good options after this if we are not involved with Snead.

Back up QB is starting to be intriguing. Maybe they bring Kellen Mond back? Clear best options are Huntley, Flacco, and I guess Jimmy G, right now.

    Fields?  Lot goes into that.

Who are some potential trade targets around the league?

    Heineke

Hold that thought, Chloe is posting.

Sam Howell, Mariota signed to be the back up to their first round pick and help teach him. Howell is the odd man out.

Bears getting ready to trade Fields?   Colts possibly.

Think Fields is going to Seattle, with Lock now gone to New York it opens up their room as only Geno Smith remains and he came back down to earth in 2023 after a 2022 run that came out of nowhere.

  12. Hull and Tyler Goodson will handle the 2/3 spot depending on down, distance and game flow.

A rookie will be brought in as well and should be ahead of Zavier Scott for the final spot should we elect to keep 4 backs. Could be Frank Gore Jr. so we may get a former Colts off spring just not the one most really want.

Samford punches their ticket tonite, move to 29-5 best record in school history.  Achor scored 53 points in semis and finals. They Press full court hard, score a ton of points. Bucky Ball.....will be interesting who they get opening round thinking they get a 14 seed so will have a 3.

The other aspect is the SF D had been on the field a long time in the 4th quarter too, so right plan, just couldn’t factor Mahomes would score a TD after having scored a TD only once the entire game that came on a punt touched accidentally. It was an educated move but backfired.

Yes they were winded, I have zero problem with his call there. I wish regular season used this method, much better then what we currently have.

I mentioned it last night, and nobody really talked about it.. with the OT rules continually changing why in the world would you want the ball first?! I said the team who defers clearly has the advantage. They know exactly what they have to do and have 4 downs to play with. This is being talked about now on sports talk. Perhaps Shanahan and the 49ers didn't remember the rule changes?

Not that cut and dry actually, say SF scored a FG which they did but allowed KC to only score a FG, now SF gets ball back and FG wins the game so they get 2-1 possessions or 66% of possessions. If a low scoring defensive battle would think definitely they way to go while in a higher scoring game not as likely.
