    His actions today at press conference pretty much cemented in my mind, a bit surprised he did that, seems out of character and was a bad look for sure.

    With him likely gone next year we will see a different product for sure.

    Yeah Tampa should not present too stiff of a challenge for Lions, any given Sunday but Bucs arent very good, dead last in the NFL in rushing yards.

    Some coaches yes and some no. I think Gus has shown he plays favorites and is reluctant to make moves. Honestly at no point this season did Rodney Thomas play well, was beaten often out of position constantly time and again yet Gus kept him at out there. 90th of 99 players essentially means he was at the back end of the 3rd Safety on every team yet it took until week 13 for him to start the switch over and the results were night and day. Last year Facyson 56.2 vs Rodgers at 82.1......not a trend we can afford to let happen again in 2024.

    Gus refusing to play him over Thomas early was much like him keeping Facyson in last year though his trust was misplaced. Nick is only 22 years old after 2 NFL seasons and as the youngest player in the league in 2022. I wouldnt be opposed to vet help coming in. We get Daniel Scott back but he hasnt proven anything yet due to his lost rookie season.  Hoping we resign harrison and let him stay at Linebacker as a coverage LB is a need.

    Minshew stays, no club is going to make him the starter, he isnt a starter in this league. He is a solid backup so makes sense stays with SS and the club to mentor AR and steps in due to injury, I'm not against a later round QB pick to push Sam for the 3. Jordan Travis of FSU comes to mind, Emory Jones from Cinn would be very interesting and him an AR are tight.

    Two years ago they tried moving him to FS and this year they decided to move him back to SS which is his natural position.  The positions have different skill sets.  He excelled this year.  They need to bring him back.  An upgrade at FS would be huge for this defense imo. 

    Cross plays both Free and Strong equally well.  He graded out as the 25th best Safety out of 99 qualified players (Blackmon was 39 while Thomas was 90). It seems clear Thomas is the issue on the back end,

    But Mostert whom I drafted very late in Fantasy really came through, had a great career year. My hs classmate was his hs coach at New Smyrna high so i was a bit biased BUT he was dynamic

    I wouldnt mind a vet if the right vet to add to group , Jones had a solid year especially early,Brents looks like he may be a long time starter. Cross and Blackmon good Safety's (Cross ranked 25 and Blackmon 39 of 99) if we resign Blackmon.  Gus needed to alter scheme though no ifs,and nor buts.

    Secondary was very young with 2 rookie corners, a 2nd year safety with very few rookie snaps. They should all be improved and ascending as opposed to wr were Pierce did not improve. Now if Gus doesnt change schemes improvement may not matter a ton.
