Reds won tonight, they are in 1st now. Cubs are 4 games out. Both teams start a 4 game set tomorrow at Wrigley. Biggest series of the season to date.

Ugh was hoping for a comeback, lots of batters left on bases. Stroman needs to find out what his malfunction is or they need to let him go.  And what’s going on with Suzuki, not impressed with him at all, he may need a trip down to the minors to rediscover himself, bring somebody up that’s on a hitting streak and can play right field.

It's really time to phantom injury stroman, it's been a month of crap

Seiya needs to be down in lineup and stop thinking so much up there

Steele goes tomorrow. But reds have had our number this year like the brewers have those. So I'm curious how he'll be. If he can get over that hurdle

Cubs also picked up Candelario from Nats. He originally came up with cubs before being traded in 2017

There will be some national media on Indy tonight. Daniel Jeremiah is there.

I ended up getting a selfie with Rapaport just before he went and broke the Taylor newshaha. He seemed like a chill guy and was cool for my nephew

    So anyway,

besides the obvious JT drama, I’ll recap my notes and observations from todays practice that I saw.

    1: It was HOT

2: Richardson and Minshew split reps with the 1s from what I saw. Not sure of the total number break down but to the eye test, Minshew had a better day. I did notice that when Minshew was in, there were a lot more short routes called than the deep verticals when AR was in. I did see both Shane and another coach, didn’t recognize him from the distance, after ARs first series, once again intensely working on ARs foot work.
    3: It was HOT
4: AR has some power for sure and can drop it in deep. However, I noticed his ball placement on the 1-10 yard stuff appeared to almost always be high. This led to a couple deflected passes and passes tipping off finger tips. I’m glad we have BIG WRs and TEs, we will need them. AR looked better yesterday I thought vs today. Which isn’t unsurprising for a rookie. But he seems to be handling it well. Minshew definitely won the day. Sam E isn’t beating Minshew out for QB2.

5:WRs Pittman and Pierce route running does look improved vs last season.

    6: It’s Hot
7: Zach Moss vs JT, Moss isn’t a home run threat but he does look serviceable will know more when pads go back on.

8: Our new Place kicker has a LEG!

9:CBs looked better today and not as lost as yesterday. Hope that continues.
    10: it was HOT
11: our Edge guys look good in drills. can’t wait to see the pads on.
12: Did I mention it was HOT!!!!

Lastly, Shane is INTENSE on the field. I mean INTENSE !!! The difference between him and Reich and even Pagano is HUGE. But one thing that stood out, he’s a lot more active on both sides of the ball and with all players when he sees things he doesn’t like. Or even things he does.

My Fiancée and I were talking at it tonight and we're like it's actually nice out herehaha. Been 102 in st louis this week. We were much happier by this

Just wondering any update on Leonard?  I know some media have been posting his snap counts.  Maybe I missed it?

He's been slowly more active and seems to be moving well, was able to dive a bit

Wrigley is NOT a dump, especially after all the renovations that have been completed recently.  Been going to games there for years and never once thought it was a dump. In fact if you do a quick search it’s in most polls top 5 stadiums in US. Regardless, most go to watch baseball, drink Old Styles, and eat chicago dogs, couldn’t care less about sticky floors and crappy bathrooms.

I actually heard same comments last night at cubs/cards from a Cardinals fan. It is pretty much the only fan base (brewers for the few fans) who will say something like that

Cubs now at 50-51. Just 1 game below .500. 5 straight wins as the Cubs took care of the lowly White Sox again. Cubs are still 6 games out of 1st in the NL Central behind the Brewers who are 57-46 as they won tonight but only 5 back in the loss column.

Big 4 game series coming up at St Louis starting tomorrow. Cubs haven't been .500 since May 12th when they were 19-19. Cubs now have another chance. The team seems to be meshing really well chemistry wise. Bellinger, Nico, Swanson, Suzuki, Steele, Stroman, and Hendricks are forming a nice squad.

Cubs take game 1. Back to .500

I was at this game. Soooo hot out there today

Mikolas got ejected in first inning with two outs. He got ejected cuz he hit Happ in the back (after an up and in pitch) after hat hit Contreras on a back swing and Contreras had to leave the game cuz his head was bleeding. Happ and Contreras hugged it out before he left field. Mikolas was rightfully ejected imo. Umps do not need to give warning always when its that obviously intentional. They know protecting players is more important. But if you listen to Cardinals broadcast or reporters they act like it wasn't warranted. Im hoping mlb decides to suspend him to show that it won't be tolerated. Pitching in is one thing, what he did was so crap and could get another guy injured. Marmot also got ejected after arguing. Cubs then went on to score 3 in 1st inning after two were out

Understandable. A good deal of ballparks are like that… Fenway comes to mind lol. But I like the charm of an old school park. Warts and all.

When i went, a few years ago, I thought it was a dump as well.   All the cement walkways are darkened and stink like old beer and urine.   The bathrooms were old and nasty.   The nostalgia of an old park was there though.

Have you guys been to Milwaukee? That park is a dump. An indoor park that is still overly hot and scrunch. No history in that stadium like Wrigley, Fenway, or from what I know about dodger. The people created a bad feel stadium when wasn't necessary.

I'm getting an early start on this thread because I need to hand the keys over to a new commissioner for the Joe's League.  @w87r and I are moving up to the Elite League.  So who wants to be the new commish?

Even if it's just a temporary commish "role" on the league site so that you can remove me and @w87r from the league to open up those spots for any other forum members that are interested in joining the Joe's League.  Then ya'll can vote on a commish or anything else ya'll want to, I haven't changed any of the settings from last season.

P.S. -  I thought of myself as a long-term "Joe" guy, and if I hadn't drafted Jonathan Taylor last year, I'd probably still be in the Joe's league.  I've enjoyed the last few years with ya'll.  Thank you!  I'm about to get chewed up and spit out by the Elite League, so see you guys next year probably!  haha

I don’t pretend to be an expert about the Indy fan base.    So you tell me….   Is the Indy fan base reflected here on this website?   I think if you start a thread about Andrew Luck, you get 100 different opinions and most are unfavorable.   That’s the view from 1800 miles west.

No it's not well reflected here. You have a lot of trolls here, this place has gone down hill. You still see Luck jersey at games often.

Honestly for in person I think I've only heard people negatively talk about him  a couple times, most have moved on and understand

Media members - from every single platform - are making their 2023 season predictions in order to have some way to earn their $$$ during this "black hole" in the NFL schedule.

While you won't get paid for your opinion - it is nonetheless valued.

Rank the 4 AFC Central teams in order that YOU think they'll finish up the 2023 season.

What is the AFC central? This isn't 2001

Great. I will look forward to that.

The one in Colorado sounds great, with the mountains behind it. I love mountains and bodies of water. I think I would like the one in San Francisco with the water in the back. I have been past Wrigley and Fenway but never watched a game at either. My nephew is in his senior year of college in Boston. I should take him to a game at Fenway.

I would like to see Camden Yards too.

Ya im looking forward to going to SF, but don't know when. I plan to go to Houston this September for Astros and Texans games so can knock off those two

    Congratulations on your engagement!

I think it is great that you are visiting all these ballparks. Which do you like best so far?

    Thank you!

And loved wrigley of course, but certainly enjoyed Toronto and Boston a lot, Colorado was cool with mountains in back. I'll do a recap after the season (regular) to rank them

Yeah we blew a 4-0 lead, this game was ours to lose. Sometimes 1 or 2 plays can turn a whole a game around. It did today. Credit to the Cards for capitalizing on our mistakes. I figured today's game would be tough to win because of the rivalry we have with them. Usually when those 2 play, each team wins at least 1 game. Good thing is the Reds lost again so we are still only 3 games back in the NL Central.

Mancini needs a lot of practice before playing 1st again.  Let Amaya play 1st some vs righties

  12. 9 hours ago, 2006Coltsbestever said:

I do stand corrected, the 2 games against the Cards are in London. I watched a little today. We are flat out rolling. Beat the Cards 9-1 today. Reds finally lost today so we are now only 3 games out of 1st place in the NL Central. Despite the Reds winning 12 in a row, we only lost 1 game in the standings this whole time. We are 11-2 over the 13 games, Reds now 12-1.

Here are the NL Central standings as of June 25th:

    1. Reds 41-36

    2. Brewers 39-37 (1.5)

    3. Cubs 37-38 (3)

    4. Pirates 35-41 (5.5)

    5. Cards 31-45 (9.5)

A win tomorrow will get us back to .500. Stroman is going against the Cards. We haven't been .500 or better since May 12th. Chicago Cubs GIF by Marquee Sports Network

And it doesn't look like we'll be today either. Mancini cannot be allowed to play the field again, he's looked atrocious out there.

And stro just got removed with a hand injury, on a hit that the Cardinals took a lead on

Haven't been following baseball too much this season, but funny thing about the Reds is, Ken Griffey Jr is like the 4th highest paid player on their pay roll this year.

I always love facts like that

Chicago Cubs GIF by Marquee Sports Network- Cubs blank the Pirates again 4-0. Finally we move up a spot in the division, now in 3rd place in the NL Central at 35-38. We are playing damn good baseball but the Reds are scorching hot. Reds have won 10 in a row and are now 39-35. With all that said we are only 3.5 games behind them for 1st place. They will cool off eventually. After the way we played in April and May, I will take being where we are now. Stroman has been unbeatable lately.

And another one, not a shutout but still a nice win

Cubs have I think 5th highest run differential in NL

So PFF published an article stating the Colts are going to go 3-14. This needs to be bookmarked so we can laugh at the end of the year about how trash these predictions are!

    https://coltswire.usatoday.com/lists/indianapolis-colts-record-prediction-every-game-2023-adam-rank/

There is no way the Colts will have a worse record this season than last!

They had 4 Wins and a Tie PLUS lost to Washington, Philly, Minnesota and Houston when they shouldn't have with what I would humbly consider a WORSE roster.

Three wins is laughable with the talent this roster has!

I see the name Adam Rank in the url, so I know to ignore it completely haha

Dude is so bad at predicting things, and is still a salty bears fan

So today is the last day for the $100 off "deal" for Sunday ticket in Youtube. Just paid $350 for the year. It hurt, not gonna lie. Did anyone outside of Indy also purchase it? I know there are other avenues (wink, wink), but I enjoy having a reliable signal. But geez, that was pricey.

    2 hours ago, mirobi48 said:

I looked into it and you had to pay $350 for it plus you had to have YouTube basic which is another $70 per month. So decided not to

I brought it last night, splitting cost with fiancée step dad.

And it's $350 today, if you don't have YouTube TV. If you have YouTube TV it's 250 plus 70 a month.

    After today it's 350 and 450
