  1. Okay. It makes sense that he is waived if he will miss at least a year. If he was suspended for only 6 games, they likely would have retained him.
  2. It is a 6 game suspension? That is not much. I would have kept him. Could another team sign him during his suspension? Someone will sign him at some point.
  3. -- Tony Dungy I have heard other coaches say the same. I believe Parcells said something similar when speaking of Lawrence Taylor (but I am not certain of that).
  4. That is a good point. I think I would replace "society" with "football fans". Those in society who are non-football fans would most likely view sexual assault as worse. But I agree with your statement that gambling is seen as worse for business.
  5. Question: Do you believe the Colts will exercise Quity Paye's 5th Year option? I was reading an article on the Athletic about the first round draft picks in the 2021 draft and who should/may get the 5th year option. I was surprised to see that Quity Paye and Christian Darrisaw (my team's draft pick that year) were deemed to be Tier 3 players ("Solid Starters") as opposed to Tier 1 ("Franchise Cornerstones") or Tier 2 ("Plus Starters/High-Ceiling Starters") players. I believe both are Tier 1 or Tier 2 players and their options will be picked up. Would you like the Colts to pick of Paye's 5th year option? https://theathletic.com/4641045/2023/06/28/nfl-fifth-year-options-2021-draft-micah-parsons?source=user-shared-article
  6. I don't know. I think people come and go. I know that he did not like the negativity and was the first to ask for a Colts Positive Thread. Hopefully he will be back, as will others that we miss. Are you feeling optimistic about the coming Colts season?
  7. I was going to pick the Lions. So I will choose a different team. What about the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets??
  8. Great. Maybe I will see a Yankees game this year. I have not gone to the new stadium (which is not "new" anymore). The previous Yankee Stadium was majestic. I don't know why they needed to get a new one. I see that the Yankees had a perfect game today. @w87r https://sports.yahoo.com/yankees-domingo-german-throws-24th-perfect-game-in-mlb-history-041129762.html Domingo GermĂ¡n allowed 15 earned runs in his previous two starts.
  9. Great. I will look forward to that. The one in Colorado sounds great, with the mountains behind it. I love mountains and bodies of water. I think I would like the one in San Francisco with the water in the back. I have been past Wrigley and Fenway but never watched a game at either. My nephew is in his senior year of college in Boston. I should take him to a game at Fenway. I would like to see Camden Yards too.
  10. Yes, I like Darnold. I think he would succeed with Shanahan. He needs a stable situation. He has not had it. I would love it if the Vikings could trade Kirk for Darnold and a draft pick. I'm not sure about Lance, as he may make too much money and he is coming off a major injury. The 49ers are good enough that they could possibly win a championship with Kirk. The good part about Kirk is that he never misses time with an injury. But, the Vikings need to rebuild and could use a young QB whose salary is low.
  11. Congratulations on your engagement! I think it is great that you are visiting all these ballparks. Which do you like best so far?
  12. They did. I left just before the bottom of the seventh. The Mets were leading 7-0 at the time. They won 7-2. The Mets starter threw about 30 pitches in the first and still managed to go 6 innings. I thought he would be out by the 3rd, given how poorly he pitched in the first. He gave up no runs in this start. I was pleasantly surprised.
  13. I'm at the Brewers--Mets game with some colleagues and friends. Mets are beating the Brewers 2-0. The Mets have been so bad. I was not expecting this fun.
  14. Dislike a lot. I like the traditional Lions helmet. Thankfully, it will be used only occasionally. It is supposed to celebrate 90 years in the league.
  15. Are you moving there only to become a fan of the Jags? You can still be a Colts fan when you move there. I'm sure there are Colts fans there. Anyway, I agree with @stitches . This year will be a very positive one if progress is made in developing the young players. I would be optimistic about the future, given the young talent that the Colts now have.
  16. Happy Father's Day to all. Deforest Buckner: https://theathletic.com/4613974/2023/06/18/fathers-day-deforest-buckner-colts?source=user-shared-article https://www.instagram.com/p/Byx8TVIjYVL/
  17. Thank you. Now it makes sense. I'm not following the news much until training camp.
  18. Huh? I don't follow. Did you mean that he was messin' around? (I do love that song by REO Speedwagon.)
  19. Perhaps you should have posted this separately in the NFL section.
  20. I think we have two top tackles in Darrisaw and O'Niell. Hopefully we will be able to retain them. What I like most is that all those guys were drafted by us. Hopefully they grow together and become consistent for us. I recall the golden days of Randall McDaniel, Todd Steussie, David Dixon, Korey Stronger, Jeff Christy and Matt Birk. Even the backups were pretty good. We have not had that in many years.
  21. I hate it. I don't believe Kirk cares one way or the other, as he is making his money. I believe it is because of Kirk that we have had to let go of all our players that gave us so much optimism before we signed Kirk. (I predicted this would happen before we signed him.) I read that we are looking to trade one of our best players, Danielle Hunter. He is still young and very talented and I want to keep him. I can't wait to get rid of Kirk and his contract so that we can keep our players. Going back to topic, I think Werner could be among the worst Colts draft picks not only because he did not pan out but because the Colts did not draft other players that fans hoped to draft (Rhodes).
  22. That is who came to mind for worst draft pick, but Jeff George has to be up there being a #1 draft pick. As for worst free agents, was Andre Johnson that bad? I can't recall. What do you think of Hakeem Nicks (free agents WR from the Giants)? I don't believe he played much. Or that offensive lineman that Grigson signed around 2014-2015. Can't recall his name -- Cherulus or something like that. (Was he a free agents or a trade?) Luck needed much better protection. Worst teammate? Vanderjagt?
