  1. I have not followed baseball all year. From the sounds of it, it seems that the Braves are red hot. I say the Braves but I would love a team to knock them out. Lol. I would like a team that has never won to win the World Series. What team is that? The Brewers?
  2. Real football is back. The Game Thread has been created and I posted that video in the opening post. The game thread is scheduled to be displayed at 7AM ET (Indianapolis time) next Sunday in the Colts Game Day section.
  3. Oh no. I was such a fan of Gil Brandt. He was so knowledgeable and I learned so much from his many interviews with sports radio personalities. He was also such a kind person. He was one of my favorite people associated with football. I will miss him. Football has lost a legend. Rest in peace, Gil Brandt.
  4. Well put. That is why I think projecting stats is not a fair way to look at it. There are too many variables that factor into stats. I think how Richardson plays is a lot more important than stats -- does he make good decisions, is he avoiding mistakes he made earlier, does he seem poised or lost, how well is he playing with teammates, can he read defenses, etc. I made an example of Kyler Murray. If Mike Zimmer was his head coach he would have passed a lot fewer times, resulting in fewer passing yards and TDs. Btw, I know Steicken worked with Herbert. Do you know if he was his QB coach or OC?
  5. That is what I wonder. How much will he be passing? That should influence the stats. @RollerColt posted some stats that show the high variability in rookie QB stats, which is expected. I looked at Kyler Murray's stats. He threw an average of 38.87 times per game. That seems like a lot for a rookie, but that gives many opportunities to add passing yards. Will AR have that many chances to pass per game? As I read through the thread, I thought that fans' expectations were too high. But maybe they aren't. Kyler Murray's rookie year: 16 games 349 completions of 542 passes (average of 38.87 passes per game) 64.4% 3722 passing yards 20 TD 12 INT Rushing 544 yards 4 TD
  6. Ok. We have seen players at practice who are not practicing. Wasn't JT shown on the side watching his teammates practice early in training camp??
  7. @csmopar Did you find an answer for me? I pulled the following from an NFL.com article. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-training-camp-roster-faqs-defining-injured-reserve-pup-list-nfi-and-more So, I'm assuming they can be "at practice" but cannot practice.
  8. I think it has happened a lot. We just didn't know it. How many players have had concussions and sent back out to play! I don't know if that happened with JT but it has happened with others.
  9. @csmopar Is "being at practice" the same as practicing? When a player is on the PUP list, he cannot practice but he can be at practice (not practicing), as they are allowed to participate in other team activities (meetings, etc). They just can't practice. If Boyd said he did not see him "at practice", he may not have meant he did not see JT practicing. It may mean he has not seen JT around.
  10. Richardson is an elite offensive talent. Give him time as you did other QBs. He will shine.
  11. @VikingsFanInChennai I guess KAM thinks we have all the necessary pieces to win. Darius Rush > Booth I am glad we did not cut Nick Muse. He had a great camp.
  12. What happened? (Btw, I want Rick Spielman back. You know what I mean. )
  13. Some of those were not acquired by Ballard. Clark and Dorsett were Grigson draftees.
  14. Let's bring the talk back to Former Colts players that were waived/released. Are there any that you would bring back? One of the WRs may be a good one to bring back. Btw, that list of former Colts is actually not that long. There are only 9 or 10 former Colts there. Multiply 10 by 32 teams (that comes out to 320). There were so many more players cut throughout the league. That means other teams had a lot more former players cut.@John Hammonds
  15. I was thinking of those that people find to be good GMs like the GM in Seattle. He too has had poor drafts, but people still think he is one of the best. I love Howie Roseman but he drafted Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. I use that just to make the point, as I still think Roseman is a great GM. GMs will hit on some and not others. We need to look at the totality of the draft and the circumstances. Regarding the list of former Colts who were cut, you can turn the narrative around and say that other teams found those players talented enough to have been signed and they went through training camp. They just did not make the cut for whatever reason.
  16. Even those that fans believe are the top GMs have low hit rates. And if a drafted player succeeds with another team, that should be considered a "hit" despite that player not working out for the team that drafted him.
  17. Well said. The Bengals cut him last Friday.
  18. Pretty good. I like the RBs, TEs, Watt and Butner. Butner has lots of chances to get extra points. I love Diggs and Watt picks. The QBs are pretty good too. Lazard is reunited with Rodgers; that might work out too. Good Luck.
  19. We have not talked about it, but he liked the draft pick. That was a good pick in that round.
  20. I would bring Fields down a bit and move up Cousins, Watson and maybe even Geno Smith. I would put Burrow with the top guys. I would bring Herbert up to the second group. I would bring Richardson down a bit. He should be with the last group but it is worth taking him in late rounds.
  21. I would put Pitts in the first group. I like Waller too. I would not draft Irv Smith. There is a GB TE that many think is a sleeper. I cannot recall his name. I think he is a Rookie or 2nd year guy. I think it is Luke Musgrave. He may have a good connection with Jordan Love. I like to pick TEs early because they seem to go fast. I once had Kelce. I did best when I had Greg Olson.
  22. The WRs are so good. I would put Deebo in the top group for FF. He catches and runs. I would put Pickens among the second group or bottom of the first. I like Zay Flowers but he may be at the right place. I love Marvin Jones as a late pick. JS-Njigba -- I think he is injured. I would bring him down. I love Lockett too as a late pick.
  23. Lol. I was thinking Nick Foles.
