  1. FWIW: Smith is grading out at nearly 81, which is extremely high. Not elite, but just below. Freeland has been grading out at about 53, which is not terrible for a rookie. Also, Freeland was never going to be as good a rookie as Raimann was. They are not the same level as rookie players. Raimann was more highly regarded. If Kelly and Smith return next year, I think that’s great for the Colts. But I think this has been a crazy enough year that nothing would surprise me. I think anything is possible.
  2. The game is on the 16th, not the 14th. from 7 to 16 is 9. from 10 to 16 is 6. Hope that clarifies.
  3. Yup…. The Colts have 6 days, the Steelers have 9. That’s a tremendous advantage. The Colts advantage us the game us at home. That will help. But is it enough?
  4. For what it’s worth….. I did a little homework on Juju. He had a few injuries his first two years when he was at Iowa, but nothing out of the ordinary. Then he transferred to Kansas State. The Wildcats played 27 games his 2-years and Juju started all of them. Didn’t miss a game due to injury. I believe the injury he had when the Colts drafted him happened when Brents played in some post-season all-star game. In short, when the Colts drafted him, I don’t think he had an injury history that would worry any team. I don’t know why he’s had several injuries since joining the Colts? I only know that when he’s played he’s played at a very high level. He’s grading out around 75. Honestly, I think Juju was always Ballard’s 2nd round talent target.
  5. For me, it’s McCaffrey. I thought he’d be very good, but I didn’t see him becoming the best running back in the NFL. And for obvious reasons, I’ve taken a liking to Travis Kelce. And I’m not even a Taylor Swift fan. But their story is compelling.
  6. We will see what happens this coming free agent period which starts in mid-March. Maybe he will.
  7. Huh? Ballard did Gilmore a solid. Why would that hurt him trying to sign vets to a 1-2 year deal. It shows Ballard did right by Gilmore. Why would this hurt Ballard going forward? I would think it would help him a great deal.
  8. You’ve done a nice job if twisting my words. For the most part I don’t have a problem with Ballard-haters. I disagree, but I don’t try to change their mind anymore. I used to, but not after last year. My problem is with people who are clearly haters, but don’t own it. They hide behind “what me? No, not me!” They won’t own their own position. And there are still a handful of those types. Im not some mature voice of reason. But im willing to defend my positions. I took an unpopular position yesterday. I took a lot of pushback. I’m willing to defend myself and my views. So if you take an unpopular opinion, then be willing to defend yourself. That’s all I’m saying. Everyone here is free to say whatever they want. That’s always been my position.
  9. I don’t think so. At that point, Rivers is in a Chargers uniform. This happened in the one season Rivers is with the Colts. And it may have happened against Houston, because JJ Watt made reference to it.
  10. I’ve never said people aren’t allowed. Never. People are allowed to do whatever they want. And do you really want to defend someone who calls Colts players, “Bums”. Really? Fine, go right ahead. Not for me. I think it’s a repugnant thing to do.
  11. So…. It would seem pretty clear, you are very much in the camp if everything that is wrong with this team can clearly be blamed on Chris Ballard. Fine, that’s your view. But in the future, when I call you a Ballard-hater, please don’t respond with…. What? Me? Hate Ballard? No, not me! Let’s try to be on the same page about things that are obvious.
  12. About the person who laughed at your post about drafting someone high…. It was probably me. And I’ll explain why…. Because you make the same argument that other posters have been making here since I arrived over 12 years ago. It sounds like this….. “Our rookie didn’t show enough in his first year to have faith that he’ll be good enough next year, so we have to draft that same position high.” That’s what you’re recommending for Brents. He didn’t show enough so we have to draft his another corner high. It’s my view that Ballard has never done that. He has faith in who he drafts. He is patient. Now you can argue Ballard is too patient, and I’m sure many here would agree with you. But he’s never gone back to back to replace a disappointing player. He’s gone back to back at DE to build his roster, but that’s different. And I’d add this…. If he does go back to back, then he’s changing his philosophy to have two high quality corners, Brents last year, and the guy you want in 24. Ballard has never had two high quality corners at the same time since he’s been here. So maybe it happens, but I wouldn’t bet on it. By the way, when Brent’s has played, I think his score is somewhere around 75, which is very high. So my view is he’s shown more than you think. Sorry to have offended you. Wasn’t trying to.
  13. I hope you don’t down a shot every time you insult Ballard? Because if you do, you’d be drunk 24/7/365.
  14. The Colts will likely be picking somewhere between 15-18. Considering Ballard doesn’t like trading up one space in the first I think it’s safe to think there is no one he’s going to trade up to the top-3 for. The short answer is…. No.
  15. “Bradley has a bunch of bums in his back 7…” Forget for a moment that you’re wrong, why you think this is appropriate to post is a mystery. This is the kind of comment that makes me say this franchise needs a better fan base. The next time you wonder why some players HATE fans, remember this post.
  16. I don’t think your view of the Bengals OL as weak is accurate at all. It used to be. But After the Bengals lost the Super Bowl they invested heavily in the OL. 3 or 4 good vets in free agency and a high draft pick that plays. Their OL is no longer weak.
  17. I don’t know how many snaps Shaq played…. But he had 2 tackles. 1 solo; 1 assisted. FWIW: 13 other defensive players had more total tackles than Shaq.
  18. I could easily be wrong. But I respect the Pitt franchise. I respect Tomlin. And I like Trubisky more than most here. But I don’t see much difference between Trubisky and Minshew to have the confidence that you do. Im not predicting an outcome. I think it could go either way. I hope the Colts win. But I won’t be surprised if the Colts don’t.
  19. Well…. After today’s unimpressive performance, perhaps you should worry. I think our remaining games will probably be more difficult than you and others might expect. I think each game is a 50/50 toss up.
  20. Gilmore? With the Colts? Average? At best? Goodness. Never thought I’d see that here….
  21. To be fair….. jskinnz is the original author of “Dear God” and I admire him for that and much more. When I borrow, I try to borrow from some of the best!
  22. You’ve been gone about 2-3 weeks while the Colts were winning. Now, after a defeat, look who is back to enjoy the loss! What a surprise?! How completely predictable….
