  1. ????? Was Speed given a penalty for the hit, or did he say something? The hit looked perfectly legal.
  2. Thanks. Hey, you and me both! I always say December football is crazy! Seriously C-R-A-Z-Y!!! Anything can and will happen! Hoping for some early Christmas magic tomorrow!
  3. Huh? The Colts beat Pittsburgh last week when they didn’t have Pittman for roughly the last 2.5 quarters. And when he went out, the game was close. Im not predicting a win tomorrow, I’m only saying the Colts should still be competitive tomorrow as they were last week without Pitt. So I think saying no chance is not supported by very recent history.
  4. Granson still has another year on his rookie contract. He hasn’t had a bad season, just not a great season. Other than Pittman and Downs targets and receptions have been spread all over. He should be back next year.
  5. Jlyn…. My Registered Nurse friend…. I am so, soooo sorry for your loss. I hope you can be with family and closest friends to get you through such difficult times. I’ve been where you are. It helps.
  6. Maybe I’m being too greedy, but I’d like Santa to bring me wins against the Falcons, Raiders and Texans!
  7. Yes…. Nelson has had some back issues. He’s also had a broken foot and a high ankle sprain or two as well. But my hunch is that he’s just not the type to admit when he’s less than 100 percent. He just quietly plays as best as he can.
  8. To me, when Nelson is reported to be “healthy” and is only grading about 70, then I think he’s only healthy enough to play. But I’d guess he’s not close to really being himself. I’m sure he’d never admit that he’s below par, that’s not his way…. So something tells me he’s not quite right. I don’t pretend to know what it is? But the grades he posted in 18, 19, and 20 are what I think he should be close to when he’s really close to 100% himself. Just my two cents, and it’s all opinion, but that’s what I believe.
  9. Day 2 are not premium picks? That’s breaking news. In 12 plus years, you might be the first poster to say that. Certainly the first smart poster and you’re very smart. I doubt Ballard would agree with that view. IMO, the top-50/60 picks are premium. And just because the Colts are projected to pick around 22 in the first doesn’t mean they’ll come away with the 22nd ranked pick on their board. It rarely works that way. When the Colts picked Kwity at 21, I believe the Colts thought he was 10th on their board. There are 32 teams and no two big boards look alike. They are entirely different. When the Colts picked Leonard 36th and Smith 37th in 2018, that wasn’t their ranking. They were top 32 picks for the Colts. Same with Pittman at 33rd and Taylor 41st. They were both top 32 picks on the Colts board. Could Ballard trade down out of the first? Possibly. But I’m not sure of that. I’ve been predicting he’ll trade down for months. What I don’t know is how far he trades down and in how many moves? Im a Steichen fan and supporter. If he says Sam is ready to be QB2, then I’ll support it completely. He knows much better than I do. My hunch is he won’t make that decision. From the outside looking in, there’s nothing that should give any fan the confidence that Sam can be ready to be QB2 in 2024. Almost by definition, QB3’s just don’t get enough work in to improve from one year to the next. But if Steichen supports doing that, I will too. As to the confused emoji, I don’t use it as often as you think. I use the laughing emoji and sad emoji far more often. I’m known far more for them. I use the confused emoji when a good smart poster like you makes a post that I simply don’t understand. You make arguments that don’t add up for me. That’s when I use confused. But again, much less than sad or laughing. I want to be clear here. I think you’re a top-10 poster. I rarely disagree with you. Certainly not to this extent. So to the extent I’m engaging with you, I hope you’ll consider this a sign of respect. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t engage so much.
  10. You and I are missing each other badly. I’m not sure how much is deliberate? Im sure Sam can be QB3 for some team, including the Colts. What I’m not sure about is whether he can be any team’s QB2? I’ve already explained the reasons why, and your response seems to be ignore my words. What confused me is a poster as smart as you think it’s a smart idea to spend a Day 2 draft pick on a QB that would be no better than QB2 as a rookie, and likely QB3. Why would anyone want to do that? Think of all the discussion threads we’ve had for the past 3 months talking about all the different positions fans here want the Colts to draft….. DL, OL, WR, CB, LB, and RB if the Colts lose Moss to FA. Now, to all of that you want to use a premium Day 2 draft pick on a position that the Colts hope doesn’t play much, if at all next year. To you, this makes complete sense. And for the life of me, I have no idea why? Your Joe Biden cheap shot? Again, unhelpful.
  11. Why did you do that? You wrote that it wouldn’t be unpopular with you. I wrote that would be unpopular with me. And you snarked back that you don’t think Ballard or Steichen care what we think. That was unhelpful at best. Sam has been our 3rd string QB all season. When you’re the 3rd string you get almost no reps with the team. Your practice time comes AFTER the team’s practice. You work with a few coaches and players. That’s all you get. My point is it’s hard to improve in that kind of setting. So it’s hard to see Sam as our future QB2. Is it possible? Sure. But is it likely? I don’t think so.
  12. Sorry, but It would be extremely unpopular with me for several reasons…. For a variety of reasons, neither Eason or Sam have worked out as hoped. But Minshew sure has. So if the Colts lose Minshew, I think they’d go back to the veteran option. A vet could step in next year and lead as Gardner has done this year. A rookie? No. Plus, a rookie is likely going to cost the Colts a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I don’t think Ballard would have any interest in doing that. I’d be beyond shocked. Sorry…
  13. Maybe not even TRIPLE that? Wowza. If Minshew gets an offer like that before the Colts have signed him and Minshew brings it to Ballard, I think CB says congratulations you have to take it. Because that team is paying Minshew to be their starter next year. He’s got to take that offer. Minshew would still be the Colts backup next year even if the team was willing to come close to matching. The Colts would have to find a new quality back up, which I think they would.
  14. Yes…. Both in writing and speaking. When writing, I try to remember to use emoji’s to add emphasis so the sarcasm is obvious. When speaking, I try to be aware of who I’m talking to. With certain close friends, sarcasm is easy and obvious. But when I’m with certain family members in a group setting I don’t think it would go over as well. They're culturally different, so I pick my spots much more carefully.
  15. Thanks. I freely admit I don’t have a very good sarcasm/kidding filter. Not one of my better skills. I think you’re the second poster to catch that, so you’re probably right. Thanks again.
  16. Nice to see Pittman get some love. Especially since roughly two months ago one of our top posters literally called Pitt a wr3 and then added the words AT BEST for emphasis. That sure didn’t age well….
  17. FWIW: I believe Q is only grading out around 70 +/-. And my takeaway is that Q is not 100 percent. That should be the only reason he’s not grading out higher. The bigger question becomes, will Q ever be healthy again, and how many years will the franchise pay him roughly $20 mill per if he’s only grading out around 70? But those are questions for another day, certainly for the off season.
  18. Aren’t the Colts doing well on the road this year? I thought so. I think the Colts find a way to win. Maybe not by a lot, but win just the same. Also, look at the post by JVan right above mine. He talks about what happens when too much money goes to one side. It’s instructive. For the record, I rarely gamble…. Maybe 5 times, and when I do it’s for very small amounts. Basically, gambling has almost zero interest for me.
  19. Vegas is very accurate with this stuff. They have to be. Doesn’t mean they aren’t wrong from time to time. When a big upset happens it’s often Vegas that takes a bath. Then again, sometimes when a big upset happens it’s the betters who lose and Vegas wins. On balance, Vegas casinos make money hand over fist.
  20. The NFL is trying to do it at both the beginning and the end. It’s imperfect, but that’s what they’re trying to do. Trying to generate the most interest at the right times.
  21. The last few years, the NFL has been trying to do that to everyone. Give teams roughly a month of divisional games to start and roughly the same to end the season. It’s been very deliberate to try to generate more interest at the most important times of the season.
  22. Yup…. It’s not far fetched. We finish with.. In Atlanta… Home with Raiders…. Home with Texas… It’s not a terrible gauntlet the Colts have to survive… It’s doable. The schedule makers did us a favor. The Colts opened the season with back to back at home, and now the Colts close with back to back at home. A real gift.
  23. That was a huge nothing burger from Florio. A QB flexing his wrist?! Shocking! Silly. What do you Google to find these links? Florio controversy? Or something else?
  24. Is this your opinion, or do you have anything to support that view? I googled Mike Florio makes stuff up and got nothing. Im not saying he’s never wrong, but there’s a huge difference between being wrong and making things up. You're not normally a bomb thrower, so I look forward to your response. I’m sure you’ve got something.
