  1. ok…. I’m confused…. Are you saying no way MCDANIELS doesn’t take the job without a healthy Luck? Or…. Are you saying no way BALLARD doesn’t take the job without a healthy Luck? Because you wrote that. But Ballard DID take the job without a healthy Luck. For context…. Ballard and McDaniels shared the same agent. He’s the top agent for coaches and executives. His name is Bob LeMonte. And he was telling McDaniels NOT to back out of this deal. But once he did, LeMonte fired him.
  2. FWIW: ESPN analytics puts the Colts chances at about 56 percent. I think the Colts were 3rd most likely of 8 teams. I believe the Colts were behind only Houston and Cleveland.
  3. Two points…. While you’ve never literally said the words “I hate Michael Pittman Jr” here’s what you have said recently that gives me that impression. A few weeks back you wrote… “Michael Pittman Jr is WR3 at best”. Those were your words. That was jaw dropping. Then this week you noted…. “OK, so he showed up”. I went to Pittman’s page here on this website free to all. And here is his 2023 production so far. Receptions by game: 8, 8, 9, 1, 5, 9, 2, 8, 8, 8, 8, 10, 11. Roughly on pace for 120 receptions. The numbers say Pittman has pretty much been showing up all season long. 9 of his 12 games (75%) are top level. 1 is below average, 2 are bad, no debate. So those are the comments you’ve made that make me question your view. Now I’ve been reading the comments you’ve made in the last 16-18 hours and you seem to have some change of heart. Now you’re calling him a high level WR2. Fine. But that’s different than the view you’ve been putting out for the majority of the season.
  4. What jumped out to me was the description of the culture clearly set by the owner: Like the Hunger Games. Everyone out for themselves. Frank’s own staff going behind his back calling the owner to dish dirt on him. The ultimate act of betrayal from a coaching staff. Revolting. Disgusting. I hope what goes around comes around for these sleazy dogs.
  5. 100 percent. Great post! See Jacob Eason. See Sam Ehlinger. And now see Gardner Minshew. Props to you.
  6. I think Minshew returns to the Colts. I think he gets signed to a deal of roughly 2 years and 10-12 million TOTAL. $5-6 mill per.
  7. Yes…. But it has been 6 games…. If I said otherwise, I misspoke.
  8. You realize Minshew is viewed as roughly a top-8 backup QB. That’s top-25 percent. And Steichen worked with him for two years and wanted him. I think Ballard gets credit for signing Minshew. But maybe that’s just me?
  9. Yesterday, NFL.com reported Grover was back this week. Does it happen tomorrow? I’ve checked his team page here on the website. He’s missed 6 weeks. So what day this week does it become official? Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance.
  10. The difference is this…. Once upon a time a player might get a few thousand. Maybe tens of thousands. In rare cases a special player might get six figures under the table. Now? Because of the NIL process kids can now get Millions. And it’s legal. That’s a huge difference. Everything has become much bigger and harder for smaller schools to compete.
  11. Sorry I wasn’t more clear. My bad. Yes, I was being sarcastic. I need to be more careful when I do that. It’s possible a good word from Jeff helped Gus. Certainly didn’t hurt. Still, Ballard is a fan of Gus. I expected him back this season. For me, the bigger question is will Gus be back next year in 24? Steichen will obviously have strong input. Whether Gus is back will be one of the most interesting questions this off-season. I expect it to come very quickly. Perhaps within a week. Again, sorry I wasn’t more clear in my previous post.
  12. Im not a big Bradley fan either. I won’t be disappointed if the Colts move on from him at the end of the year. I just tire of the endless pounding of Bradley. It might be THE most prevalent community viewpoint, IMO. And if you’re in the community chat room on game day you’d think Gus Bradley is the answer to every negative issue. Once the community doesn’t like someone, it’s hard to change perception. It’s an issue in our community I quickly discovered when I first joined here 12+ years ago. As for Saturday pulling punches…. Yes, somewhat. Good catch. But I think he wanted to withhold some things but also was wondering how much time he had left to tell some stories. Jeff was the focal point of the panel and he seemed like he didn’t want to completely dominate the time. Interesting video.
  13. They need to submit their name for the draft if they wish to be drafted. Of course there is criteria for the person to meet as far as eligibility. If they don’t care about getting drafted, they can still attend free agent try out camps hoping to get an invite. This a a somewhat broad over simplification. Your question, a good one, is a bit more complicated than one might expect.
  14. My comment was about the overwhelming view in this website that Gus Bradley is terrible. It’s not a view I share, but the view is very real Are you telling me you are unaware of that view here in our community?
  15. Something Jeff said caught my ear. He said Gus Bradley is a really good DC. Im sure he didn’t mean it. Perhaps he mis-spoke? That couldn’t possibly be true. On the other hand it was nice to hear Jeff speak so highly of Steichen. Jeff remains a class act. We need more people like him.
  16. Hunter Renfro? Seriously? Your hate for Pitt has reached a new low. And I didn’t think that was even possible.
  17. Yes…. For fans of college football it’s the end as we know it just keeps getting steadily closer. What used to be great and fun has been dying now for years. My school is in the BIGwhatever, as you put it, but I couldn’t care less. Very, very sad to me. I feel bad for the roughly 100 other schools who will get screwed. Yuk…..
  18. To be clear…. I had no problem going for it. None. But I thought the play call, to roll right and have Minshew throw back left was easily the worst call Steichen has made as the Colts coach. There are exceptions to that rule. Guys like Mahomes or Elway with a big arm can roll right and throw back left. But Minshew, as much as I like him, does not have the arm to pull that off, and he demonstrated it. To me, what happened was entirely predictable. In the split second I realized he’s going to throw back left, I thought “NO! What the Heck are you doing?” The outcome didn't surprise me at all. Making the call even worse, it was done from around the 10, so there was heavy traffic. Everyone compressed in a small area. This wasn’t done at midfield where bodies can be spread out. There’s good reason why most QB’s don’t roll right and throw back left. I always thought most quarterbacks are taught at a young age not to do that? Maybe not any more? I just thought Minshew was the wrong guy, and the field position made it the absolute wrong call. I thought the call was egregiously bad. Honestly.
  19. For me….. 1. DL 2. WR 3. IOL 4. CB 5. LB 6. DB 7. RB I believe Ballard will attempt to do in the 24 draft that he did in the 23 draft. Lots of trading down and acquiring more picks.
  20. I didn’t say I knew. I didn’t say anyone here on this website knows. I simply stated let’s hope the NFL can fix this referee problem so it doesn’t happen again. Thats all.
  21. We all have our opinion on this issue. And while I’m a MPJ fan, I don’t see him as a WR1. Though if he reaches free agency I’m sure some teams might. But I see him as a high level WR2. And it’s not intended as an insult. By volume he catches a lot of passes. And that’s great. But he doesn’t scare defenses. Opposing DC’s don’t lose sleep facing him. I’d like to find a way to keep him, but someday draft/FA another receiver that defenses have to fear, respect and game plan for. That player would be our future WR1. I hope we sign him to roughly 4/76-80. The key will be the guarantees.
  22. Yes…. It worked for Archie and Eli about 20 years ago. But everything has gotten much bigger since then, especially the draft which is now a major event. As for a trade up, I agree. Very unlikely. It’s one thing to trade up from roughly 8th, it’s quite another to do it from 18th. That’s entirely different.
  23. There’s nothing his father can do, especially if the Colts are picking in the bottom half of the first round. I would hope Harrison Sr wouldn’t get badly tangled up with Harrison Jr. It would be a terrible look.
  24. Correct. Harrison should easily go top-5. Even if the Colts just fell short of reaching the post-season, they’d likely be picking 17/18. So we wouldn’t be close enough.
  25. Maybe…. But he’s been in school for three full years. Typically a kid will know his major by then. It’s not a big deal. I’m more curious why the school website simply doesn’t say…. Undecided. That’s odd to me.
