  1. Ballard put out a statement the day it was revealed the team was not keeping Okereke. Basically he said he didn’t want to not keep Okereke, but he had no choice. That to release Leonard would’ve been a huge dead cap hit to the Colts and completely screwed up the Colts off-season plans. Plus the team doctors hoped Leonard would return to form. I think there a number of media tweets that helped explain the situation the Colts were in. But Ballard clearly didn’t want to let Okereke go. I don’t think Ballard had done this before for any player. He knew it wouldn’t end well.
  2. Wow…. You really believe that nonsense? It’s called exceeding expectations, that’s what the Colts did. And some teams fell short of expectations. That happens every year in sports too, not just the NFL, but all sports. I don’t know why you don’t know this, but you don’t. Did you not notice that Chris Ballard made ZERO major moves to try and help the Colts this year. He signed none of the name free agents during the season that this community called for. Zero. So, I have these pesky things known as facts. While you continue to use your opinion. But what you think you know is astounding. You actually wrote that I have known you’ve been right all along for years. Your words. And you actually believe that. I’ll simply be diplomatic and say the exact opposite is true. 180 degrees opposite, that’s how far away you and I are on most issues. You and I might agree on a small number of issues from time to time. But they are the exception and not the rule. Sorry. I’ll give you credit for this one thing…. With most people if you call them a conspiracy theory guy they get defensive and deny it. Not you. You freely admit it. You lean into it. You warmly embrace it. Good luck with that.
  3. The ads for the Super Bowl are sold out MONTHS in advance! The teams that reach the SB help determine the ratings, and that helps set the rates the following year. But there are other factors involved as well. Your latest conspiracy theory doesn’t go anywhere. Oh. Sorry. Looks like I’m keeping receipts again.
  4. Ya think it might take a little bit more than a first to get Justin Jefferson?!? Besides, he’ll eventually get signed or tagged. He's not going anywhere.
  5. OK…. Do you have a link that says voted in? Because I just read three stories about Minshew and the Pro Bowl. All said he was named, not one said he was voted. Also, Josh Allen has asked out of the Pro Bowl. He’s playing golf that day in Florida. Wants no part of the game. The idea that players VOTED in Minshew over Josh Allen should seem astounding to you. There shouldn’t be more than a 0.1 percent chance of that ever happening. If you have a link that says it did, odds are high the link is incorrect.
  6. Minshew has already collected about 2-2.5 million in bonuses so far. I don’t know about any bonuses for the Pro Bowl.
  7. It may make it harder. I doubt it guarantees anything.
  8. Nice honor for Gardner. But we shouldn’t read too much into it. He’s there because a good number of other players have chosen NOT to be. Either way, happy for him.
  9. Yup…. I’m thinking agents is the issue here. Maybe the guys are out if shape? Really too bad. Scouts want to see how competitive players are when they go head to head in practice. They’ve still got almost three full months to turn things around.
  10. No worries. None. Minshew is a high level backup, but that’s it. AR is who the franchise invested in. And it’s expected he’ll struggle from time to time. This comes with the territory. And I’d add this last thought…. If by some strange occurrence a QB controversy popped up I think Steichen and Ballard (and if need be Irsay too) would squash it on Day One.
  11. You want Ebukam, who plays at 240-245, on the left side? He's the closest thing the Colts have to a speed rusher, so he normally plays mostly RDE. The Colts have Paye, Lewis and Dayo who can play the left side.
  12. I understand. I wasn’t suggesting you pick the websites over Boomer and Gio in the morning. I’m just saying the websites are available every hour of every day if you’re ever curious and you want the info then. Honestly, that’s all.
  13. Very good and very thoughtful post. Appreciate it.
  14. Jones shares what he is legally required to share according to NFL rules. It’s the same as all teams. But there’s a reason Jerry built a 90,000 seat stadium which can be converted to 100,000 if they want. Jerry makes more money, and that money he’s NOT required to share.
  15. I think SF can extend Purdy after his third season of his 4-year rookie contract. So, after next year. Purdy will likely get a nice signing bonus to out some cash into his pocket ASAP.
  16. Honestly…. I said Lamar, another poster said Cam Newton, and you’re saying Josh Allen. I think they’re all very good and fair. If someone else wants to say a mixture of all three, that’s fine too. Three very good examples. All very dynamic.
  17. The Colts have a passing game coordinator. His name is Jim Bob Cooter, he’s the offensive coordinator for the Colts. The Colts also have an offensive minded head coach, Shane Steichen who calls plays with the help of JBC. The Colts do not need an additional coach to be the passing game coordinator.
  18. No one understands talent better than Baltimore. They are loaded. Good choice for the chargers. But a word of caution for their new guy…. Working WITH Jim Harbaugh will be the HARDEST job of your career. Hope it doesn’t turn into working FOR Jim Harbaugh. Good luck!
  19. That type of information is available 24/7/365 from both Spotrac.com and OverTheCap.com Best of all, I believe all their info is free. Open to all who are curious.
  20. This assertion that Dodds was brought to the Colts to replicate the Legion of Boom was started by YOU, and now REPEATED by YOU. You are literally quoting yourself. The last time you wrote this I wrote a long post explaining the different ways it wasn’t true. You either ignored the post or have forgotten it. The claim is false. 100 percent false. No one else here subscribes to it, but some repeat it because you keep repeating it over and over and over again. Ballard has never said it. Dodds has never said it. Neither has Irsay. It’s a figment of your over-active imagination. Does Dodd get some credit for it? Sure. So does GM John Schneider. So does Pete Carroll. Dodds also gets credit for drafting Russell Wilson at pick 75. And for trading a 4 and a 5 to acquire Marshawn Lynch from Buffalo. Dodds was NOT the architect of the Legion of Boom. He did NOT specialize on defense. But it happened on his watch so he gets SOME of the credit. Did you read this? We’ll see if you’re brave enough to answer.
  21. I don’t think they test like the combine. But they do measure things like height and weight. Practices are the most important part of the week. They are HIGHLY scrutinized. The game actually means less.
  22. This won’t be popular, but that’s ok. I don’t think Matt Ryan stunk. I think the OL in front of Ryan really, REALLY stunk and that’s why he wasn’t what everyone thought he’d be. But the week before the Colts benched him Ryan threw for about 450 yards in a big overtime win. The reason why the Colts benched Ryan was to make sure he didn’t get hurt which would’ve made his contract for 23 guaranteed. They played Ryan again toward the end of the year because Saturday asked for him and said the team wanted Ryan to be the starter again. I’m not saying Ryan was great, just not as bad as the popular narrative here would suggest.
  23. Well…. Sam was the QB3 this year. Which means he got zero snaps to practice this year. Hard to see how he improved enough to be a good QB2 next year. Without knowing what Shane and CB think of Sam, my hunch would if the Colts lose Minshew they will find another solid veteran to be the backup QB2. But it wouldn’t be Sam. Just my guess…
  24. Uninspiring? Huh? Clearly the two best teams. The best QB in football plus the best running back in football. Many other really good storylines. How is this uninspiring?
  25. It doesn’t make a difference. Try not to defend a really bad post. Just own it and move on. We’ve all made them.
