  1. He was a superb, tough, hard hitting sob. Ala Butkus. Nitschke ? and Nobis were a step below but darn good also.
  2. I think he is 95% focused on stringing 1st downs. Foremost teaching AR the great value getting to 3rd and 2-3. And I would believe we would go into game 1 with perhaps 15-20 pass plays that have been worked on over and over in red zone scenarios that will be the foundation for our short game anywhere on the field. So no, I have not heard of him scripting so many plays. I have listened to him speak of discussing with the whole team starting Wednesday regarding the plays to be called and the blocking assignments for each player.
  3. Will AR be 6-17 or 12-20? Anyway I can see it today we are going to have a hard time outscoring our opponents. How many games will we score 23+ points? Will we be incredible getting 1st downs when we get it to 3rd and 2? Kelly and Fries are not Kelce and Seamulo. Play a game then place your bets.
  4. 2023 In the beginning... I believe we have a brilliant mind leading our team. A season of teaching, evaluating, another off season, adding a few more critical pieces, and by mid-season 2024 we will know things are much better. For those that get to watch us closely, enjoy some replay to see more of the overall action, I think you will see many young players with real potential. Yes, a whole lot to root for. I will attempt to wait a day to hold my tongue. And I of course am very ready to add to my very long list of the nattering negative nabob "Ignored". Most I can tell don't watch the game very close, nor really know what they are seeing. What a total waste for me to give them my time.
  5. Colts 360 began the season with Kelly as the live guest. It reminds me to keep rooting for him to be the best he can be. I hope he has gotten his health back. The left arm injury he had a couple years ago I believe was still affecting his ability last off season to lift as needed for both upper and lower body. Hopefully he is much stronger now. We will all be watching closely at all the 3rd and two's, 4th and ones.
  6. Saturday is as high character as one will see. I don’t believe for a moment that Irsay was foremost asking Jeff to come in to "Audition" to be his next HC. Jeff came in to end the malaise and sloppiness that had come to permeate Irsays (Business) Colts under Frank's worn out leadership. To reinvigorate the troops, put his touch to our o-line woes, and I'm sure to evaluate the character and talent of the roster from the inside. With no QB, our o-line, no Leonard, missing our two top offensive minds, how LAUGHABLE to consider Taylor needing to be on the field to help us win. We were sucking (like playing Painter) for our next QB. Every player on the field was playing banged up. Why?
  7. We don't have a good proven TE. Our safeties are 2nd year unproven, Our WR group is as weak as there is, what are you folks thinking?
  8. Winning x number of games and bringing in a new coaching staff that will be bringing in at minimum half of a new roster within two seasons is what we fans have to be able to comprehend. All new staffs do it. Funny that anyone believes JT is being punished. A odd take. And Ballard and his staff, Irsay, Steichen, and our Capolgist parlay together to form our short and long term vision. I can't imagine that Leonard is here next year unless he ends the season "healthy", and had played as one of the best at his position.
  9. About 10 different names listed here. This is why optimism is the best policy. Steichen is going to get these guys sharpened up.
  10. That will be so fun to watch. As long as our blocking holds up long enough for our receivers to get the D deep enough and spread out, like Fields, he is going to run for 1st downs on 3rd and 10 pretty often. And how good will we be in the short yardage stack that Philly was exceptionally good at? I expect to find out early and often. I would want 180 ypg passing 1.5 td passes per game 40 yds rushing per Although I expect a 1000 yd season. I'll take the under on 14 int in a 16 game season.
  11. NCF of yesteryear. Superb writing and analysis. Due to the injury probabilities, Taylor is just being wisely adamant to get fully guaranteed money before he steps back on the field. That money has a high probability of setting him and his tribe up for a better life. He is one injury away from "sorry about your luck" come back anytime you know you will always be a Colt for life. THIS is what he can Trust. And he is fine going to whomever will do the best for the future for him and his. I am with him 100% on this business decision. If we were a SB contender and could afford to add a healthy Taylor I absolutely see Irsay pushing Ballard to go for it. We are not, and unfortunately for Taylor, Steichen can have a top offense without a great runner.
  12. They keep asking him to block and he keeps whiffing. He looks lazy and slow minded. He makes a few plays here and there, but most anyone they would incorporate in our offense would do that. All I see is "another" Frank/Ballard type guy that is a low level mediocrity.
  13. So csmopar dismisses the 6'6" 325lb mauler we got from Philly. What's the HC know anyway?
  14. We could use a Bull at RG in short yardage. And we didn't have one until him. It has amused me that Steichen didn't use his stacked up push from behind play at all in pre-season. Because I'd bet the house AR is going to be mighty fine at it.
  15. Does anyone think that Steichen was in the know regarding the Philly philosophy regarding where the $$ needs to go in his offensive (Hurts/Richardson) system? Get real. He explained it to Irsay and Ballard in the hiring process. One can speak to the last 5 SB Winners. Jonathan is worthy of about $8m here because of his running ability and threat with the simple bubble screen. Discounting for his lack of overall receiving skills and sub par blocking. He would not take that so him going somewhere else was a done deal when Steichen was hired
  16. No TE on practice squad. That has to change.
  17. I read up on Brown. Went to Alabama as a 5 star recruit. Perhaps the top corner in the country. 4.35 speed. With all of that, it is fair to say he has shown an inability to cover well enough. At 28 he has proven to Ballard/our staff, to be very high level warrior with exceptional lockeroom presence. Much like Dulin. He deserves a multi-year contract with some number of Millions guaranteed for being this kind of guy. I don't bother to speculate $$$ amounts. That is the Capologist's job.
  18. I don't think understand Taylor's position. He Wants a giant pile of Fully Guaranteed Cash before he steps on the field. Maybe when he misses 4 games and is threatened with not getting paid for the rest of the season, some sweetener could be offered to get him back on the field. Unfortunately, we would be doing that to a guy that had been operating in bad faith. While also risking his health which would damage his future trade value. He needs to sit this year, suspended without pay, and we take the best offer we can get pre-draft.
  19. Not sure what Turay and Banogu have done to CB's "held against him rating". Rush could tip the balance just to far.
  20. Fair. A tremendous amount of unproven players. Again, I am all for shooting for next years first pick. It's a solid plan. Sills fits Steichen's need for a big road grader G in short yardage. Better for that than Fries by a margin. Land makes me think of a very poor man's Ngaukee. Hayes looks like an odd choice, rather him than Skipper I guess.
  21. I get where you are coming from (19) but we have witnessed Ballard chasing that one trick pony dream before. Turay
  22. I have listened to Ballard describing the contract negotiating process as being handled by his exceptional Capologist. They have their long term business model and their firm values. Something we can be certain Irsay, Ballard, our HC have a very good understanding of what our Capolgist lays out for them. Steichen has proven he does not need, nor can his 12th man offensive system afford, a lot of $$ spent at RB. Not if your ambition is to win the Conference Championship, and more. Taylor and his team surely were not surprised by our adamacy for a physical, and that their refusal would end any thought of negotiation. Indeed they set us up for a "walkoff out". I would like to believe they understood Steichen's system wouldn't pay Taylor, so getting traded was a must for his financial ambitions. Now he saves his body, and hopefully his ankle is healthy when his new team is allowed to give it a lookover. I think it would be wise for him to sit out the season, get as close to 100% as he can, and not show up next spring for duty. I believe doing that would most likely get him moved and get him as much Fully Guaranteed $$ as the market will bear. This is his business model. And I like it.
