Time for a little update on these guys that I pointed out before the start:
Keon Coleman: His RAD was still high but his 40 time was disappointing. Although some have pointed out that his MPH during the gauntlet drill was as high as other guys that ran faster. Still im skeptical
Brian Thomas Jr.- Checked every single box. I don’t really care that he’s not 6’4” because no one ever is lol.
Keon Coleman is a slower Pittman. He had trouble separating in college. It will look tragic in the pros
I wouldn’t touch the kid
Brian Thomas would seem to be the explosive guy that has a reasonable chance to be there at 15 if we keep the pick
I would take him over Bowers

Personally, I like Ballard’s tight end room. It’s not great, but I think it’s good and diverse. I’m sure I’ll get pushback on that view from some. That’s ok….
I think they keep MAC, and develop the young folks
We agree
I am starting to think (Hope) that they go after Brian Thomas, Verse, or Latu with 15

As with the Sienfeld show the character George Came to the conclusion that every instinct that he had was wrong… he went with the opposite
Thats how I feel trying to predict what Ballard will do in the draft
I want a certain player group
I want Latu or Verse in round 1
Of COURSE it will be something else
We will probably draft Powers Johnson center

I think that Ballard LOVES the medium cost CBs that excel in THIS zone heavy defense
IF
maybe a BIG If. …..
If we spend big in FA I would get players that make THIS zone heavy defense successful
stud Defensive End
Playmaking FS

I see us adding depth in FA and draft but doubt we go with any big name FA or early pass rushers, it's a down year for pass rushers and I don't see any that will come in and be an immediate upgrade over what we already have.
Maybe
Respectfully
We were beaten by Texans where they were down 2 of their WRs.
We lostImagine if they are 100 percent healthy
Stroud was getting better week after week
He is very talented
IMHO our teams desperate needs are a markedly improved pass rush and a play making free safety
IMHO if we have more of the same as last year we will have a loooonnnggg year
The top teams generally have an excellent QB, LT, and DE
I think our QB WILL be that excellent QB
Our LT is growing toward that
We are missing that 3rd element. That DE that other OCs fear
Do you see that guy on this roster?

Kind of expected... he looks more like a power/explosive rusher than a bender...
If we don't address DE in FA, I think we have to look at Either Verse or Latu as round 1 pick
Latu seems to have speed, flexibilty, and advanced pass moves
Verse has speed and power, and needs some time to develop more pass moves
At this stage, I would be happy with either

I thought the same until I saw his measurements. 31" arms is very difficult to overcome at DL. I think it's enough to make Ballard pass.
I wonder if he could play SSDE then shift inside

Jared Verse, mediocre shuttle and three cone.
How did Latu do other than his 40

Can I convince you to look at DT Leonard Taylor as well? Seems he's the 3rd highest ranked DT, so he might be worth a look?
He had an underwhelming season and ran very poorly at Combine
5.27 for a 3tech is way too slow
at 306 he is too light for 1 tech
in my very humble opinion. I hope we don’t take him

I could live with these two as picks in round one and two

The Titans OL is a disaster
I bet they go OT here

I am feeling DL (DT/DE) or CB for No.15 more and moreIf we don’t spend in FA
I would think we would have to fill the hole at DE, FS, and WR in first three roundsThat makes sense
but….. he will probably draft a Guard. Who knows

He’s not as bad as some of you think.
that said, I’m expecting a break out year for him this year .
I hope he does
He plays the run well, but he seems stuck to the tackles that are average to above average in talent.
He is fast for a 40 time,(For a DE) but his first step doesn't seem quick enough
I look at it this way..... if we DONT improve and stay with the same level of performance, the DC will probably be sent packing
If I am the DC, I am standing on my desk, for a DE and FS in FA or draft
His career is in the balance

This morning's latest mock:
No trades. I like it. What are your opinions?
15. Terrion Arnold, CB Alabama
Height: 6 - 0 |Weight: 180 lbs |RAS: N/A
As a freshman, and even early in 2023, it appeared Terrion Arnold would be heading back to school for his redshirt junior season. The young defensive back had a tough outing against Texas, but has been absolutely outstanding since. His high-caliber basketball background is clear in the way he plays press coverage. He is patient and long, never overcommitting to a jam and rarely allowing his eyes to bite the cheese. His smooth and explosive athleticism make him a perfect candidate for heavy man-coverage defenses, but he possesses the zone intelligence and background in Nick Saban's scheme to be a plus zone defender off the bat while he grows. Dalton Miller 12/2/2023
46. Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE Texas
Height: 6 - 3 |Weight: 235 lbs |RAS: N/A
The best pass-catching prospect on Texas is tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders. He moves extremely well for a 6'4", 255-pounder, showing off great comfort as he releases off the line of scrimmage and even as defenders drape his body in coverage. Sanders is a natural receiver in the mold of Gerald Everett, thanks to his quickness and willingness to get physical to finish the catch. He won't be confused for an especially effective blocker, but Sanders makes an effort. Sanders should be valued as a strong Day 2 prospect with another quality year in 2023. - Ian Valentino
82. Xavier Legette, WR South Carolina
Height: 6 - 3 |Weight: 227 lbs |RAS: N/A
Calling Xavier Legette a late-bloomer seems like an understatement. Legette wasn't on anyone's radar in the NFL Draft world aside from his explosive kick return potential. The 6'3", 227-pound receiver is a height/weight/speed anomaly who will receive more than a few DK Metcalf comps during the draft process. He's unbelievably explosive. In fact, he'll likely be one of the fastest player at the draft, even at nearly 230 pounds. And he doesn't turn like a cruise ship as a route runner, either. But his most impressive attribute is his high-point ability and vice grip hands in contested and aerial situations. Dalton Miller 12/2/2023
117. Maason Smith, DT LSU
Height: 6 - 5 |Weight: 316 lbs |RAS: N/A
Despite not making it through his first game as a true sophomore, the LSU Tigers defensive tackle remains one of the most heralded NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 cycle. His frame may be the most frightening since Shawn Oakman, and his game resembles Stephon Tuitt and David Irving. His freakish athleticism paired with improved hands and a little experience could secure him a top-10 selection come April. - Dalton Miller
149. Isaiah Adams, OG Illinois
Height: 6 - 4 |Weight: 318 lbs |RAS: N/A
192. Jay Stanley, S Southern Miss
Height: TBD |Weight: TBD lbs |RAS: N/A
231. Kimani Vidal, RB Troy
Height: TBD |Weight: TBD lbs |RAS: NThis is a good one

Kalen King (PSU) clocked as the third fastest player at 20.57 MPS behind DB Max Melton (Rutgers) second fastest, and first fastest clocked was WR Devontez Walker (UNC). A few Colts fans have been saying we want/need a fast WR hence the reason why the Colts are talking up with Walker.
Walker might be the answer for us in round 2 if we go DE or CB in round 1

He looks like a legit option, but I’m pretty sure I’ve read somewhere there are some character concerns with him.
That what has been written about. On the surface, not a CB pick

The Colts need to add a LB at some point. Both LB’s are on the last year of their contracts and the depth behind them is poor.
Agree 2000%
We need a 3rd linebacker to play early downs and push our two current LBs for playing time
My sense is that our current LBs are average vs pass

If Ja'lynn Polk runs a 4.4 ish, he would be an option in round two as well.
The guy is wide open on many deep plays........
He is a big kid, and averages 16.8 yards per catch.
He MIGHT be the guy we need

Pearsall also shined at the Senior Bowl AND he played with AR.
Yep
Pearsall had ZERO dropped passes.... ALL YEAR (If I remember the talking head correctly)
If he runs a 4.4, I could see him as an option to the Colts in round 3

There will be many players that will move up. But there are only so many draft positions I see Baker as an option for us in round 3

I think we may already have replaced him...... with Speed
But...... This team doesnt have the 3rd linebacker that it needs
We have scrubs
So, I can see us picking up a SSLB with speed in the draft

was just having conversation about trading w pats to get Marvin Harrison Jr. realistically what do yu think it would take to get their pick ?? i think the trajectory of the pats and colts and trade between the 2 teams actually makes a lot of sense, depending on what we could send their way
It would take 2 1s and maybe a player
I TRULY hope that we dont do that trade.....
Harrison is amazing but, if I am CB, I am ONLY trading up to get a generational QB or DE
We have our QB of the future (I believe) and I dont see a cant miss DE in this draft.
This draft is really strong with excellent WRs
We can a day one contributor at our pick at 15 though I hope we go DE
Or more probable, we trade 15 (Maybe twice) to get more 2nd round picks or late 1 picks
If we have traded back 1 or more times I am GLADLY running up to take AD Mitchell or Brian Thomas
(Whomever is left)
THEN drafting defense pick after pick
