I'm kind of surprised he fell this deep in the draft. I had him pegged solidy in the upper to mid 2nd round
Same. I expect the Colts in real life would give a good look at him, if he is still available at that second 2nd round pick. There is rumored interest?

@csmopar All the trades involving the Vikings are listed correctly. Thank you.
However, I wanted to point out that in the 3rd round the Giants don't have a pick at #7.

Didn't like Haskins at #6, didn't really here either but figured it is good value at this point.

As I explained in the Future Cap Thread.
It makes sense to give new deals to all players coming up in next 2-3(Luck 3yrs)years, now, with front loaded contracts, while we have all this extra money. That way when Q and Leonard are up, the guys have smaller annual salaries and we can afford more money to give Q and Leonard.

I just think it is what it is.
If we can get a pick 3rd rounder or better, we probably would take it?
If not you let him play it out as a back up with at least a chance to get a good comp pick(depending on other moves). Maybe not? He could resign here at that point as well.
If you can only get a 4th or worse draft pick for him, he is worth more to keep.
Just my opinion.

Checking in NYG/NYJ:
Both teams willing to listen to trade talks. Trading up or down. #3 + #6 Get at me.
Must admit that it is pretty nice picking up an additional 1st and 3rd(sorry Browns GM).

Yeah, people act like resigning our own guys is gonna absolutely break the bank, but that just isn't the case. This level of conservatism is strange. Maybe he has plans to go it another year, and then load the barrel of we're still rolling full steam ahead via the draft?
It definitely isn't going to break the bank, as this is probably worst case scenario money wise and we are still left with almost $80m in space next year.

Luck is under contract for 3 more years. He shouldn't be mentioned for a while.
Its not a necessity to sign Luck to that deal. It's just an option we have to help carry over some of these "Savings" into signing our young guys later.
We have the extra money, going to have a hard time spending the required 89%, so give it to your long term players. Pay them more now for cheaper years when Nelson and Leonard are up for deals.
