Doubt WAS cuts good RB's with Guice on IR

    Agreed.

    Thats an either or.

Cause while they won't cut both, I think the same goes for keeping both. They had 19 carries between them in tonights final preseason game. 1 of them is gone, IMO.

They added that crazy part of landing on the QB.

This is what I thought as well.

Not saying its a good call, but by the words of the rule, it probably falls under that. He also drove him in the ground a little, I think. I believe that is also in the new rule.

Cant drive through and have to try and not land with all your weight on them? Something like that

Clark, Vujnovich, and Bond end 2017 starting on the OL, and today they play the 3rd quarter of the final preseason game.  Goes to show just how bad our OL had gotten last year after all the injuries and thin veneer of talent to begin with.

    On a flip note:

Mike Person, Colts lineman last year, is favored to start at RG for the 49ers. Taking over for 2016 1st round OG Barnett.

  5. This is pretty good reading material.

As far as Lewis goes, I'm looking at this injury as a good thing.

    1. Lewis can now set back, heal, study, watch live action and mentally be prepared when it's time to return.

    2. The injury isn't a week to week thing, so we don't have to use a roster spot for him now. Hoping he will be back by, say, week 3 or something. We can throw him on the IR and if he can come back later, great. Now we can use his roster spot on someone else.

  6. Dallas let him go because he wouldn't take a pay cut.

Lot easier to get open being #2 guy on a team. He drew the most attention on a team with mediocre WR's(Williams, Beasley, Butler) outside of him. Dak usually is pretty safe with the ball so if coverage is rolled toward Dez, he will look elsewhere and not risk the tough throw.

As has been stated on the forum. Rogers is our second best WR(until Grant shows us something). That is ridiculous and unacceptable. Whatever you think about Dez, he is better than any of our WR not named Hilton, and could probaly be had for a $5-$7m 1yr prove it deal.

  7. I dont think we will release Howard.

I've read a couple articles talking about us making him available for trade.

And even though he has looked like garbage, he still has extensive starting experience in the league and lack of options,  gives him a little value.

    6th, 7th or player swap.

  8. Cut him, it only cost us $1.3m to try and bring in a guy to compete for the job.

He couldn't, no harm done. Move on to the next option.

Won't ever complain about bringing in a guy like Ballard did to try and compete.

  9. Looks like we almost signed JJ Reddick. Philly upped offer at last minute.

JJ Redick: “I almost signed with Indy. I was an hour away, two hours away, I was very close. I had a 5:00 PM deadline… it was 12:30, 1:00 in the afternoon when Philly changed the offer… I had a whole conversation with Nate McMillan.”
