So after taking another look.
We can sign O'Quinn after we finish other moves.
To make room for O'Quinn, they released Poythress($1.54m)
Cap space: $1.65m
If we cut Ike($.7m savings)
Stretch Jefferson($2.7m)
We could still have around $5m left if we chose to go this route.

Alize Johnson is balling this quarter. The offense is basically running through him right now.
Trevon Duval has been killing us. He just got hurt so hopefully he's ok.
Was surprised Trevon wasn't drafted.
Hopefully Alize can run some at the 3. Time will tell. I think he can.

Alize Johnson is having a good showing as well.
I think Alize has some nice potential.
Holiday looking good.
Those last 3 spots are up for grabs.
I've always liked Travis Leslie's game as well. Maybe he can steal that last spot?
Anigbogu
Alize Johnson
Sumner
Leslie
Potential vet minimum signing out there as well?

PG to me is the perfect Robin, a Great 2nd best player on any team. A Top 15-20 player in the league. He reminds me of a Scottie Pippen type, Great Defensively and a Good Scorer but not a guy that can lead a team to a Championship being the best player. He can thrive playing with RW, he would've thrived playing with someone like Kobe too because PG isn't ball dominant. He would've won Championships playing with Kobe or Jordan as a Robin.
This is my thoughts exactly.
He also showed me, that he knows that to be the case(he isn't a number 1 guy). That's at least respectable.
He is fine with letting Russ do his thing, so he doesn't have to take as much blame when things don't go right.
This is the same guy that passed the ball to CJ Miles(who missed shot) with 5 seconds then asked why he didn't pass it back to him. Like he wanted the shot, if you want the shot you don't pass the ball with 5 seconds to go. Knowing if Miles would of made shot he would of been like "I was unselfish and made the right play"
That's not what happened, and he called out his teammate for doing what he is suppose to(trying to score because his so called "1 guy" just passed it to him instead of took the shot. He was afraid to miss it.
Anyway, sorry for the little rant. As you can tell I'm not a fan. I'm happy with the trade for sure.
I do think Paul is a good number 2 guy. I would take Scottie though.

Pretty deep as you didn't even list Holiday.
Or Leaf.
Great signing. Really wasn't looking at him as an option, but it's a good one.
12 deep. With Anigbogu, Sumner and Alize Johnson to hopefully grow.

Roster:
PG: Collison, Joseph, Holiday, Sumner(2 way contract)
SG: Oladipo, Evans
SF: Bogdonavich, McDermott, Poythress
PF: Young, Leaf, Alize Johnson
C: Turner, Sabonis, Anigbogu
Solid, still have our MLE as well.

Tyreke Evans just signed a one year deal with the Pacers for 12 million. Per Bleacher Report.
Woj as well.

Yeah, bit I dont think MLE is enough for Smart. I agree would love him but just dont see it happening unless we were to work out a trade with them.
-
Must say, NBA player reaction to Boogie is quite funny.
Lets get this Tyreke news to be official and move on to this MLE.
$8.6m should get us another solid guy.
Assuming we get Evans, what are you guys looking for? PF depth or another 3pt specialist(Ellington)?

I am not holding my breath. Nothing is official until Woj or Sham tweets it out.
Me either, but the numbers line up pretty good to what I was posting prior

Yeah that was one of the sources I wasn't sure of.
Still haven't seen any big names announce, hopefully its true.

Seeing some news that Tyreke Evans has agreed to a 1yr $12m deal with the Pacers.?
Not sure of source, but it is out there.
No link, but google Evans and Pacers

Top FA options remaining:
Julius Randle(LA rescinded tender)
Marcus Smart(RFA)
Tyreke Evans
Jabari Parker(RFA)
Zach Lavine(RFA)
Luc Mbah a Moute(could be under radar signing there, solid 3+D)
Avery Bradley
Wayne Ellington
Rodney Hood(RFA)
DaMarcus Cousins(guess it wouldn't hurt to look into.)
Will leave the list there, hopefully we land 1 or more of these guys.
-
After taking a look. Looks like we have $12.1m in cap space.
Could free up about $3m more by releasing Poythress and Anigbogu(Probably keep him now that Al has been released.)
And could add additional $2.7m if they stretch Jefferson's contract.
Could realistically get to $18m easy.
Then have an $8.7m non taxpayer mid-level exception at their disposal.
-
We released Jefferson, saving $6m.
https://hoopshype.com/rumor/1193171/
Keith Smith: Sources: The Indiana Pacers have waived veteran big man Al Jefferson. Cap hit of $4 million. Could be stretched.
– viaTwitter
So, not sure of the exact figure, but that should get us up around $11-$12m in space.
Still a lot more than most teams. I think we probably sign 3 more guys.
2 to fill up cap and one exception.
Going to be interesting

This.
We should have North of $100m next year. Outside any new major contracts or extensions.

That will be a thing to watch. Ha.
Yeah, definitely will be interesting. That gives them 3 guys that need the ball in their hand. Makes me wonder what the intentions with Ball are? Maybe he is on the move?

McDermott is deadly from 3, he will be a solid backup to Bogey. They are similar players. In today's league you cant go wrong with 3 point shooters. More the merrier. He also is only 26 and a Good Chemistry player. Biggest surprise was PG signing a 4 yr deal with OKC, Lakers struck out on that one.
Definitely like bringing Doug in, like you said great 3pt shooter, great chemistry guy. I think his D is better than most think, great basketball IQ as well.
Can back up thw 2 or 3, depending on who else we bring in.
Really hope we can bring in TJ Warren, he should be on the block with the Ariza signing and having Josh Jackson.

Ok, I know its been done by someone, but now that FA is amongst us. I want to look at this depth chart and see what us out there.
PG - Collison, Joseph, Holiday, Sumner
SG - Oladipo, McDermott(can play back up 2 or 3)
SF - Bogdonavich, Alize Johnson
PF - Young, Leaf, Poythress
C - Turner, Sabonis, Jefferson, Anigbogu
FA's(own):
Stephenson(hopefully he signs back again)
Young (wont be back)
GR3 (would like to keep if price is right)
Booker(see GR3)
After Doug signing, look to have somewhere around $5-$6m left. Still can free up some I believe?(Jefferson?)
We have both a room/ and bi annual exception. Can use one or the other.
We are deep at PG, C.
We have little depth on the wing, need to bring in/retain multiple players.
I just feel like there will have to be a trade somewhere to even out roster.
Either:
Collison and Jefferson
Or
Joseph and Jefferson
Wouldn't be all that surprised if thad was moved?
Trade options on the wing?
And
FA targets in our cap range?
Who do you guys got?
Few options:
Trade:
TJ Warren(PHX signed Ariza and need a PG)
Wilson Chandler(Denver trying to shed salary and would attach asset to him)
Justise Winslow
Courtney Lee
Mo Harkless
Andrew Wiggins
FA options:
Ellington
Afflalo
What do you guys think?
I believe we will bring GR3 back, hopefully Lance and Booker.
I think the Pacers thought Thad was opting out, so they freed up Lances money. Think they wouldn't of done that if they had a do over, so hopefully they bring him back.
-
So after everything that's happened, we have around $12-$14m remaining.
We can add up to another $10m if we dump Jefferson and Collison.
Doubt Collison goes any where, but so could see us dumping Jefferson and getting that unguaranteed money back. Getting us in the $20m range.
We could do a bunch of damage with that kind of loot. There isnt much cash to go around.
I'm ready for some action.

Holding out hope that we can bust a S+T with Boston. He seems a little disgruntled right now. Probably slim odds.
CoJo($7.9m)
2019 1st
For
Marcus Smart
Clear cap space as I posted before, we could offer $12-$13m in a S+T.
