Better yet why would Steelers trade him to NE. They probably prefer to trade him to NFC, definitely not one of their biggest obstacles to get out of the East for sure.

The Patriots are a team that does is frequently.
Probably do it with Josh Gordon as well.
Other examples - Jamie Collins traded for him then let him ealk for a 3rd round comp.
There are other instances to where they sign a guy to 1 year deal and let him walk to pick up picks.

I'm enjoying watching this team play.
Not sure why anyone is worried about Luck's arm.
He made some of the best passes I've seen him throw in weeks 1 and 2.
I'm not to worried about a road game in the rain against the defendong SB champs, who have a great Dline.
Game plan was clearly to get the ball out of Luck's hands quickly.
Leonard might be the best Defensive player in the league here soon.
Things are looking good in Naptown.
Side note:
Luck has more passing yards and 1 fewer TD than Tom Brady. Same record. Except they've been handled in their 2 losses. We should of won ours.

I read this before they announced they were ready to move on from him.
It would of been a way to entice him back if they wanted him.
I'm sure that would further divide locked room though.

As has been stated, that $10m doesn't mean anything to the Steelers right now. Who would they spend it on?
The divided locker room is more of the reason to go ahead and move him.
Mack would be good complement to Conner as well.
