I think we take a DT with one of those picks. The Wynn/Hubbard was contingent on who we take in the first. If we land Nelson we take the ER Hubbard and if we get Chubb we take the OG Wynn. Basically trying to fill holes the best we can. Considering we signed Mewhort back and brought in another possible starter in Slauson I don't think we double up early but who knows....this was just my attempt at balancing out the roster.

Makes sense. Guess I should've looked a bit closer earlier. Was a quick glance at lunch.

He doesn't even mention Chubb with the first pick. I see no reason one or the other shouldn't be there for us. I agree that 36 is too high for Jones. Not really feeling his picks.

I'd rather go something like either/or any combo of these guys.

    6   Chubb DE NCST/Nelson G ND

36  Wynn OG Georgia/Hubbard DE OSU

37 Bryan DT Florida/Phillips DT Stanford

49 Jefferson LB Texas/Hughes CB UCF

67 Penny RB  SDST/Ballage RB ASU

If you are going with Wynn/Hubbard at #36, why wouldn't you take the the one you didn't take at #36, at #37?

See if the Steelers will take a 4th for Bryant

I would probably do that, but with it being such a high 4th it is a tough call. He's a 1st round talent, probably why Pit will not trade him. Won't get his perceived value.

All day for that 5th though, I'd even kick in a 7th, if need be?

Matthews has been the most productive and Reich knows him.

Having said that, if Matthews hasn't been brought in then perhaps Reich doesn't think he's a good fit.

I think we need more of an outside threat. Matthews is more effective in the slot.

Wouldn't be against bringing him in by any means though. Anyone on that list I would be happt to welcome to the team.

  5. Ryan Grant is a solid pickup, especially at that 1y $5m number.

The thing about these 1 yr deals that make them even better.

    1. Players play harder, trying to get that bigger deal. If they play good, we can bring them back, hopefully we would have a leg up since we gave them the prove it deal. If we choose to let them go/or they choose to leave. Well....

    2. If they go sign a deal with a different team following year. Then we could possibly recoup a comp pick. (ie Mingo)

    3. No risk/possible great reward

I think Ryan Grant is going to have his career best season this year. No homer, he is just solid and Andrew Luck is going to find him often.

  6. Was thinking about posting a comp pick thread with how FA has been working out.

Something I just found interesting is Frank Gore never signed with Detroit. So he is still available. He might srill sign somewhere as well, possibly giving us an additional 7th or something?

Long way to go, but I imagine we end up with at least that extra 4 next year.

Thanks for the link w87r as well as the You Tube clip included in the article. I'm a very visual guy which carries more weight to me than text ever will. Williams is quick, runs with a purpose, & keeps both hands firmly on that ball. Sign the man pronto!

He is built solid as well. Definitely finishes off his runs.

Pass pro, is without a doubt his best asset to me at this time, but he is versatile and would definitely help our team out.

I don't know why he would go play 2nd fiddle to Hunt in KC? I imagine he would have a much bigger workload here.

    Time shall tell.

For the life of me,  I don't think I'll ever understand Player on Player HATE.     Why should Waddle publicly call out Sam Bradford?      Bradford didn't do anything wrong.    He didn't create the system the NFL has operated under.    He simply was paid by the teams that wanted him.    That's how it's supposed to work.

It's one thing if some media type says this....    or a former GM or scout....     but a PLAYER?

It's one thing to THINK IT,  it's quite another to publicly SAY IT.

What's the point of bashing your own for getting paid?      I don't think it's a good look...

Exactly what I was coming to post. What a hater, why is Weddle talking about Sam Bradford's money?

    Non sense.

    Haters gon hate

I'll take Mewhort, if they feel his knees are fine.

Desir I would like to see come back on a reasonable deal.

Person could be decent O-line depth.

I've been thinking Butler might come back on a cheap deal. He can still be depth at CB/Safety andcontribute as a Special teams player, but more importantly, he's a good guy and would be  good to have around all the young kids we'll have on the roster. Considering how many players we need to sign, I would okay with Butler returning on a reasonably cheap one year deal.

I wouldn't be against Butler either I suppose. His versatility helps with our lack of CB depth at the moment.

    I think he walks though.

Why would it matter to you if they pay 2 million or say 3.25 million?

It doesn't, but at the same time you still have to be smart.

I've actually already stated that after rethinking I would give him more.

In the end it doesn't matter to me at all, but I do like seeing my team being fiscal responsible. Which is exactly what they have been so far.
