Pittman is seeing Downs ascending and doesn’t like it. Even Pierce had 3 catches on 3 targets. Pittman had 2 catches on 5 targets. He wants lots of targets so he can put up mediocre stats with those targets in a contract year. I say give the guys with more big playmaking potential the extra targets.

Ballard has had some bad misses in the draft but this year’s class has looked legit. Don’t know if that’s all Ballard and staff and how much Shane has had an influence there but AR, Downs, & Brents have looked legit. Before AR’s injury (praying Brents injury is minor) this class had some all time best draft class potential. Up there with the Luck TY class.

That’s true. But we just saw the Chiefs win the Super Bowl on the same kind of crap call. Baker just gotta be way better on that play though. After the last penalty, you can’t double grab the guy and not expect a call. Not like the guy can run by you for 70 yards. Turn and force a tight window throw. Not grab with basically both hands.

If you watch the replay, Baker basically grabbed his arm twice. The 2nd grab essentially forced the refs hand. The 2nd grab would’ve made Rock Ya Sin jealous. Just poor play by Baker. The first call was weak and the more egregious call. Receiver ran into him and he didn’t even impede his progress. That 2nd one though, WTH was Baker thinking. Just let him go and run with him.

We’ll see. Maybe it’ll just be incentive laden to cover for another potential suspension. Feels like Grove maybe was juicing up in a contract year to ensure he secured the bag….

I didn’t miss it. I just disagree with your point. You think Steichen praising Grove means he’s forgiven and will get the maximum contract that he’s earned from his previous play irregardless of his suspension. I think the praise is just the team rallying around a beloved team member & leader but it guarantees nothing when it comes to his next contract. And I think this situation will affect the contract negotiations.

Because Grover is a beloved teammate and probably one of the leaders on the team. Everyone has praised him after this situation. I don’t think that means he’s gonna get the same contract he would’ve gotten had he balled out the rest of the year without being suspended for PED use. As someone else stated, he better come back post suspension and tear things up if he wants his best possible contract.

He’s respected & loved by all of his teammates is what I was getting at.

Trubisky gets a lot of hate but he took an average Bears team to the playoffs and was a double doinked 30 yard field goal from winning a playoff game. He’s definitely a better QB than Minshew. Minshew just knows the offense and was a better mentor for AR.
