  1. If Jim Irsay listens to or worries about what any fan "tweets" then I would lose a bit of respect for the man. His job is to put the best people HE believes in position to run and manage the Colts. I would hope he doesn't listen to anything any "fan" tweets.

I think he does listen to fans. obviously

I think he also knows how to do what needs to be done. He listens but is not dictated to

  2. I like Irsay too but he is being a bit hypocritical with his recent tweets. In one tweet right after the Falcons debacle he tweeted something to the effect that this losing won't be tolerated and now he's telling the fans to "buck up."

I don't think that is hypocritical. We cannot buck up while corrections are put place? Maybe you thought he was going to take some sweeping action when he tweeted that losing isn't tolerated?

To me, Buck Up means 'Be strong, things will get better'

  3. I meant simply in regards to the pundits saying for the past few years that the Colts are a one man team and that the window is closing. The state of the team currently could certainly be used by them to prove they've been right, though I wouldn't necessarily agree with them.

oh, okay I see what you are saying.

I don't need them to tell me that we are overly dependent on 18

As a fan though, I tend to feel like the media do not really watch our team. Generally, fans tend to have more accurate insights imo because THEY WATCH THE GAMES

My personal opinion is that we have been missing our spark. Even when we had 18 last year, and went to the playoffs.......something.....that we had in 2009 was not there last year.

When we had Dom back last season......you could see it come back. They are just not gelling as a team they way that they should and have not been since the start of last season.

I'm not sure that's just Peyton or what it is.........but, the good news is.......that clearly everyone sees now that we need to do something different. At least I would think so

  4. Well, that and the team record finally vindicates (perhaps a better word could go here) what the experts have been saying about the colts for the past few years.

Hmm, I'd have to see a point by point of the issues to agree that vindication has occurred.

Thing I'm remember right now is 2009 season, yahoo fantasy recommended against drafting peyton except maybe as a back up.

If there is vindication it swings both ways

  5. The 2009 season was incredible.

Expectations were high and not realized.

The 2006 season.........even right up to the playoffs I remember people saying how we just wouldn't do anything in the playoffs.

    Low expectations not realized

Prior to the 2007 season, I heard Polian talking about the super bowl and saying that it is not always the best team that wins it. Because if it was......then the 2005 Colts would have won.

    Yes, I do remember

  6. Love that Jackson Browne lyric he tweeted. really great song and appropriate

Well I'll keep on movin' ... movin' on

Things are bound to be improvin' these days

    One of these days

These days I'll sit on corner stones

And count the time in quarter tones to ten ... my friend

Don't confront me with my failures

    I had not forgotten them

  7. I think because they don't use twitter or they think twitter is a waste of time or they think his style of tweeting is not appropriate.

All fall into the category of how they would do it if they were Jim, I think

BTW, right now on colts.com we're getting a lot of people telling us to stop updating and win some games.

FYI, web staff have nothing to do with the games.......just throwing that out there. :slaphead:

  8. But Maureen.

Thats what they told us in September...3 months.

Did anybody expect him to be cleared from practice after 2 months..

You can be pessimistic...but nothing said today is new.

(I understand why Peyton doesnt talk about this a lot.)

They may have said that but no body knows. Honestly I don't know how guys come back the season after acl surgery. I had that surgery 2 years ago and I'm still rehabbing.

And this involves fusion and nerves.........so, who knows

I do think that article does give a much more ominous feel to Peyton's prognosis.

In particular the quote where Peyton mentions February

"We're in full discloser with each other," Manning said. "If I'm not healthy in February, I think it's fair for the Colts to make their decision."

gave me a knot in my stomach

  9. He will not work out the entire month of December. His fusion has not happened yet.

    nerves have not regenerated.

He will not have his restrictions lifted.

This is going to be an off season drama

If by some miracle, all this played out as you suggest...........it would not be a fair evaluation at all. The man has not played football in almost a year.

  10. @john dee, we do have an off topic forum. But still, no religion/political posts. It leads to too much flaming/swearing and clean up work for mods.

Jim is a true fan of this game. And he knows that everyone involved......owners.....players.....coaches..... all start and end as 'Fans'

That's why he connects with fans, he is one

  11. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

    November 2, 2011

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS SIGN DB PRINCE MILLER

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent defensive back Prince Miller.

Miller, 5-9, 198 pounds, is in his second NFL season after competing in four games for the Detroit Lions in 2010. He was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2010. Miller was released by Baltimore and spent a brief period of time on the New England Patriots practice squad, prior to being re-signed to the Ravens active roster. Baltimore then placed Miller on the team’s practice squad and the Lions signed the Duncan, South Carolina native to the team’s active roster for the remaining four contests of the season. Miller finished the 2010 campaign with three tackles and one pass defensed.

In 52 career games at the University of Georgia, Miller totaled 126 tackles (86 solo), one sack, one forced fumble, 11 passes defensed and one interception. He also returned 28 punts for 417 yards with one touchdown.
