RIP Chris Cornell...one of the most iconic voices of the last 30 years. This comes from "Temple of The Dog", the next one will as well. This was a collaboration of Soundgarten and Green River (Early Pearl Jam) as a tribute to "Mother Love Bones" prodigy Andrew Wood...who overdosed. Quite the irony. Say hello to heaven Chris and for all those that think people have it made because they are famous...the psyche tells a different tale...

I like what you said RR7 about poets, musicians, & songwriters needing pain to perfect their craft. I think a lot of what drives highly successful people is a fear of failure or, to be more precise, being petrified of writer's block when the well of creativity completely dries up. Genius does have a self life. That waterfall or river of inspiration won't last forever.
Either that or perhaps Chris Cornell faced that line between originally & mass producing material that he felt his bands had laid down in the studio before. Sometimes, the pressure to surpass previous accomplishments i.e. records is a tremendous burden to bear financially, creatively, & socially especially when the best artists around are perfectionist by their very nature.
