  1. If Richardson were established and playing full seasons, I might think about finding a similar backup, but he's only played a handful of games himself. If Richardson comes back and gets hurt again, if he's Trey Lance, I would imagine, stylistically, they would go in a different direction, and it might be a new GM making that decision.
  2. They certainly got their 3 million out of him. If Richardson misses 4 games a year(good possibility), Minshew can keep you competitive for 4 games. That’s exactly what you want out of a backup.
  3. After what I saw in 2023, if Richardson averages 13 starts over the next 3 years, I would take it. If you're going to play this style with this QB, you need a backup who can give you 4 games a year. Minshew is not a starter, but he's that guy. He can keep you competitive in those 4 games. After seeing Richardson get knocked out of almost every game he played, I honestly think they need to keep swinging at some level at QB, but they probably won't.
  4. Not surprised. As Siriani said on the radio last offseason, from their time in San Diego, he and Steichen look up to and respect Gus. Of course with the way it's going in Philly, Siriani might be back here as OC in the next year or so.
  5. If you redid that draft, Mathis would move in front of him, but Clark would probably still go somewhere in that area of the first round. Whether or not it was the smartest pick for the Colts is a different issue. It might have been overkill, but he was pretty big in the playoffs.
  6. Damn, I put that out of my mind - the Nick Foles era. It's unbelievable how many bad memories there are from the 2022 season. Lol
  7. I wonder if we have ever played in New York, the same stadium, twice like this. The Giants game is one of the new 17th games.
  8. Can't wait to get back to Minnesota. Good memories.
  9. Ballard goes with youth/inexperience in one area almost every year, and it's always his downfall. Who needs Houston and Autry? Based on nothing, let's give Pinter and Pryor the RG and LT jobs. Let’s get rid of Gilmore, McLeod and every bit of experience in the secondary. It's an annual revolving blind spot.
  10. Yeah, last time we were at 15 we took Hooker. Wish we still had him. Hooker is still only 27.
  11. Every year people count them out and every year they find a way to make it in.
  12. Steichen kicking the 57 yarder reminded me of Dan Campbell going for the 2 after the penalty in Dallas. We thought we won, I'm frustrated, so I'll just go for it from the 7 anyway. Steichen got to the 40, thought we were going to take the lead, but the Colts got no further. He was frustrated and just kicked it anyway. It wasn’t the smart thing to do. After that, we were playing catch up the rest of the way. It could have been the opposite.
  13. Just to rub salt into the wounds, you know the Titans are winning this.
  14. Go back and watch the Colts pre-manning, especially the 1991 Colts or the 2011 Those were normal bad seasons, not the Jeff Saturday circus where it felt like the organization had completely lost its mind, culminating in the biggest choke job in NFL history.
  15. I prefer to look at it like this. Ballard went from 9 wins and a collapse in 2021 to 9 wins and a collapse in 2023. It was a repeat performance. In between, based on nothing, he handed Danny Pinter and Matt Pryor the starting RG and LT spots, leading to possibly the worst Colts season in Indianapolis. If you're going to give Ballard credit for going from 4 wins to 9, you have to dock him for going from 9 to 4 in the first place.
  16. As far as the Browns game goes, Steichen made plenty of his own mistakes, and repeated one last night. As for the refs, we got an equal number of breaks in Baltimore, so that's a wash. If you're a playoff team, you have to beat Atlanta. We didn't even show up. The Colts were bullied physically for 4 quarters.

    Needs?

Nothing really matters until the QB position is settled, and sadly, it's far from settled.
  18. No, but they have decided to give Shane coach of the year in Indiana over Tom Allen.
  19. I have no idea how or when we became this team that collapses in games, collapses at the end of seasons, fails in big moments, but that's us. Ballard needed this playoff appearance. He really did. We're basically back to starting a rookie again next year, and who knows how many games he'll be able to stay on the field. I'm not expecting playoffs in 2024. Maybe by year 9 or 10.
  20. It's odd though, because Steichen got back into this game and stayed in the game by pounding Taylor. At some point, he realized he could only win it old school with Taylor. The final drive was like one of Frank's game ending drives from 2021. Then, on the game deciding play, he took it out of Taylor's hands.
  21. Scheme, coach, it doesn't matter. They step on someone's throat twice a decade.
  22. Yeah, he looked better at other times this season.
  23. It's getting up there, isn't it?
  24. Considering the fact we had every opportunity to win it in the end, it's hard for me to get with that. We should have won the game.
