  1. I would re-sign Minshew at least for 1 year until AR really starts to come into his own. Without Minshew this year we would probably be 3-9 or 4-8 at best. Minshew may be better than almost half the starters in the league. Maybe 16-20. It is even hard to call him a true backup at this point.
  2. It almost makes guys like Peyton, Tom, and Rivers look that much more amazing. Their durability was off the charts.
  3. I agree, great post. If people don't like Minshew for personal reasons, that is their problem. Has he played bad at times, YES, is he erratic at times, YES. Having said that, he has played some good football this year and has helped us win 2 or 3 games we had no business winning.
  4. No problem but I am not one that said Minshew was awful on Sunday. If that is your opinion, that is your opinion. I even said Browning played great. It is what it is.
  5. It was on the Kevin Bowen show, they played a clip of Shane saying - Grover will be ready to play this week at Cincy.
  6. What are the Colts? A playoff team that is relevant but not a SB threat at the moment. Still a fun team to watch for a change unlike last year and winning some games is always fun. I would rather be relevant than be a doormat/laughingstock.
  7. Seems like we have some in here that don't like Minshew for whatever reason, but I re-sign him at least to a 1-year deal. Pay him well for 1 year, just for security to still have a great backup for AR. If AR goes down again next year and Minshew isn't here, we are screwed. I have faith in AR but look at all the QB's getting injured this year and a lot of them are considered pocket passers. So you never know. Rodgers, Burrow, Cousins, Lawrence just to name 4. Lawrence will probably play in a couple of weeks, but no way will he be 100%. A high ankle sprain is the worst ankle sprain you can get. The other 3 have been toast for a while.
  8. The combination of French Fries is great. That is why we are winning.
  9. It is funny how some are so critical of Ballard for not drafting a QB in Round 1 up until last year in his tenure. In 2017 and 2018 he didn't need to because he had Luck and thought he would have Luck in 2019. In 2020, we had a good roster/win now team so signing Rivers was a great move. Take those 4 years out of the equation. Yet every GM passed on Brock Purdy in the 2022 draft until Lynch drafted him last which was basically a throw away pick because their future was going to be Trey Lance. The 49ers even had picks in rounds 2-6 and didn't take Purdy. We must have some dumb GM's out there that couldn't see Brock Purdy would be a front runner for MVP in 2023 (sarcasm). I doubt anyone in here even knew who Brock Purdy was until he started to play good last year. Leading into the 2022 draft not 1 person in here mentioned Purdy as being a possible 1st round pick. If it was so easy to run a team, why didn't anyone mention Purdy in here? GMs of other teams screw up all the time is my point. Ballard has made some great moves in Free Agency that get overlooked. = Signing Houston, Rivers, Gilmore, Minshew. The Buckner trade was great, the Moss trade was great, the Moore pickup in 2017 was great, and his drafting gets a B at worse. = AR, Nelson, Leonard, Franklin - went in Round 7 by the way, Raimann, Taylor, Pittman, Downs. Hiring Shane may be the best move he has ever made as well. I have Ballard around 15th best GM, top half as I mentioned in another post. If AR works out and we win a lot next year, he moves into the top 10. Hell, he even got rid of Wentz's contract after making that mistake, duped the Commanders into taking it . I think bringing Matt Ryan in was all Irsay. The way Irsay talked about him, etc.. No proof of that but my gut tells me it was.
  10. If Lawrence plays I may change that pick. No way will he be 100% though.
  11. We disagreed on 2 games as well. This week will have a lot of close games that can go either way.
  12. One thing I have learned about this forum, there are many fans that don't like to give the team credit or certain players credit even when they win. I have seen a few in here even post about Peyton's SB win. They say, he played Rex Grossman is the reason why we won. It's pretty comical considering the 2 games before the SB, we beat a loaded Ravens team in Baltimore, then we beat Tom Brady and Belichick. They seem to leave that part out. This is a pretty good forum, but at times it becomes tiring trying to defend your own players. Sometimes I feel like I am back at ESPN.
  13. That's interesting and I am not even a big QBR guy. When it comes to QBR and Passer Rating, I think those stats are a bit flawed. That system doesn't tell the whole story. Having said that, a Minshew hater that loves that stat, can't even use that against him.
  14. It would be nice to get him back. Cincy has some great WRs. Not sure about him.
  15. We went different on 2 games. You took the Bengals and Bills. I went Colts and Chiefs.
  16. Shane said this morning he was playing Sunday. Unless something has changed.
  17. Browning had a better game, not even debating that but 2 points I want to make: 1. With Browning, it was just 1 game. 2. Let's not act like Minshew didn't play good on Sunday and he has had several good games this year. On Sunday his stats and game winning drive are just facts, not opinion to back up what I am saying. To say he played awful is a bad take plain and simple. Really made no sense to me that you would say that. Awful is not even close average. To finish, I have never once said that Minshew was a great or very good QB. That he would lead us to a SB win, I have just said he has played good football at times for us. It just gets old when people trash our players in here even after a win or said player helps the team win gets trashed. Saying someone is awful is trashing them. Then the same people want to put opposing players of teams we are getting ready to play on a pedestal.
  18. I watched the whole game; he was not awful. One of your worst takes ever. His stats, his overall play, and leading a game winning TD drive prove you way wrong. He completed 62% of his passes and even threw the deep ball good and he had no run game. Moss 19 carries for 51 yards. Minshew is a huge reason why we won. We could not run the ball at all.
  19. A lot of people overreact to 1 game. Jake Browning plays out of his mind for 1 game and now people think he is legit. It was 1 game! Minshew has played good in several games this year and was actually arguably great on Sunday, yet he gets overlooked. Levis played great in 1st start and some in here already had him as the next coming. His last 5 starts have been doozies to say the least. Levis did beat the Panthers.
  20. I am telling you what doctors say - google it. Yeah, he may be able to play in a week or 2 but he won't be near 100%.
  21. A high ankle sprain is bad. Average recovery time for that injury is 6 to 8 weeks. There are only 5 games left. We will see.
  22. Minshew on Sunday = 26-42, 312 yards, 2 TD's, no INT's and a game winning drive in OT against a rival team that was 4-0 at home. Never said Minshew is very good or great but he has played some good football this year.
  23. What happened last night was great, now we will even be more ready, and I doubt Browning can play like that 2 games in a row.
