  2. Plus Sirianni has a personal connection with him.
  3. According to CBS he’s going to choose either Eagles or Cowboys this weekend.
  4. Eagles have shown interest as well.
  5. I’m starting Prescott over Hurts this week. I hope I don’t regret it.
  6. That's how I see it as well. Our last 4 games we've been winning have all been against teams who are struggling to protect their QB. On one hand that means our line is at least good enough to feast on that, but on the other it also means the stat is a bit skewed. Like you said, the Saints have been terrible against practically everyone else except us. And don't forget that Cleveland had it's way in the trenches allowing Walker of all people to shred us... We won't be facing the Panthers, Patriots, and Titans lines when in the playoffs...
  7. It's natural and human to be like that. Because if you're wrong, then you automatically assume something is wrong with yourself. It's not a good feeling. I've noticed JT still as of this month believes Young is top level talent. We've had this conversion before, in that nearly all QBs who enter the NFL have the talent to be successful. It's what surrounds them that sets apart the greats. A stable environment with the coaching staff, good offensive players to rely on, the right scheme that plays into the QBs strengths, the right teachers or mentors to keep them on a positive and fulfilling path. There are so many factors that all lead into a rookie being successful or not. It's no wonder it's so hard and rare to get a franchise QB when any number of things can go wrong and derail the process. I believe that. I really do think that by the time of the draft, we had made up our minds that Richardson was the guy.
  8. And it was a very smart strategy on his part. No need to add any more doubt by throwing. Play up one of his strengths, which was public speaking. He said and did all of the right things to convince Carolina. That's all that matters. And even if he doesn't have a long successful career, he's still making good money as the #1 overall. I wouldn't be shocked if Williams declines to throw at the combine.
  9. I think a lot of this stuff is true. I also believe it's fairly clear that pretty much everyone involved had a part in the Panthers failing. I'm sorry, but it's clear Reich isn't a great HC. It's safe to say Tepper and his GM are also just as guilty. The GM gave up everything to get Young, and then surrounded Bryce with nothing to work with. And Tepper is clearly meddling too much, and has created a bad culture in the organization. You cannot create stability if you're firing your coaches every year... Between his MLS and NFL franchises after this season is over he will have hired 10 head coaches in 8 seasons... Reich deserved to be fired and he knew it was coming. Rhule deserved to be fired, the team was going nowhere with him. We knew Rivera was a lame duck coach the second Tepper bought the team. The firings were warranted, sure. But at the same time this isn't how you create stability around your shiny new QB... Now Bryce will have to learn a new offense next season, build relationships and trust with another staff. His development might already be screwed up now. The real question is this: even if he manages to hire the right guy next time, will Tepper be able to stay out of the way and allow his employees to breathe? Or will he continue to be in the locker room, the training room, the film sessions, the scouting pro days and more?
  10. I use my laptop when making picks. It’s much easier to use the editor compared to my phone
  11. I think Saleh is staying if that is Aaron’s wish. I agree with you on it that for sure. If Bill leaves I could really see the Patriots pushing for Vrabel. I doubt Tabor gets the permanent job with Carolina. Pierce is also questionable. Eberflus is gone for sure. He’s aged badly just like Frank. Staley is probably gone as well for completely botching the Chargers defense alone. I think one of Dennis Allen, Todd Bowles or Arthur Smith will be fired depending on who fails to win the pathetic NFC South. Schefter is hearing grumblings of McDermott if they miss out on the playoffs. It’s going to be a very interesting end to the year.
  12. Problem is, Mahomes in the playoffs is nearly unbeatable. And we couldn’t win even with Luck. So I’d say yes we seem to have their number historically and especially in the regular season. But to say it’s a lock we can beat them in the playoffs is wishful thinking I’m afraid. It could happen, but it would be a historic upset of epic proportions.
  13. The list I’ve heard from Pat’s show and Eisen’s show would include Reich and McDaniels, and yes even the interims. McDaniels Reich Eberflus Belichick Staley Rivera Vrabel could lateral to Patriots McDermott Saleh Smith Bowles Tabor Pierce
  14. Saleh could be one. McDermott if the Bills miss the playoffs could be another.
  15. You’re right. It’s probably not much of a stretch to feel a 7th round pick needs extra time to get ready.
  16. Name checks out… God bless you… But I’ll play your game: Lamar Jackson has the Ravens currently in the #1 seed for the AFC. Seems to be working out just fine for him. Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, John Elway and Michael Vick all had plenty of success and it worked out pretty well for those guys too. Dual threat QBs have been around as long as the NFL merger. Do better.
  17. It’s insane that he’s 0-2 against us in the regular season. In fact, we’re the only team he’s never beaten in that regard. He’s 1-2 against the Bengals and 1-1 against them in the playoffs. But against a lot of the other teams he’s Brady-like.
  18. Yep! I work with a lot of special needs students so I’m very particular on how my writing and presentations look.
  19. Ballard has had some good luck with these late round picks. Franklin and now Jones.
  20. I agree. Pretty much every game from this point forward is playoff implicative. Levis seems motivated to make us pay for not taking him.
  21. Nothing is ever guaranteed either. The Bengals could’ve won that game and then the narrative would’ve been how the Rams blew it by going too aggressive in FA. You know what my problem with the Rams is? I’m jealous. I wanted Stafford… and had we got him, everything would’ve looked different. Hell Reich would probably still be here.
  22. That's another thing to think about honestly. It all depends on the individual. If you view football as a form of entertainment, you'll want years of stability as it's more enjoyable to watch the team win. If you care about records and championships, it's Super Bowl or bust.
  23. It is a lot of moving parts... er... players... If I had more time I'd compare and contrast how the other NFL GMs draft picks are doing. I would guess it wouldn't be too different from Chris. As a former player (high school, college) it really does put things into perspective at how ridiculously hard it is to play at the NFL level. The fact that those boys can at least say they were on the team for a time is one hell of an achievement compared to the thousands and thousands of us who played.
