  1. That's true. I think with both Rivers and Luck, they were just more naturally talented and able to play the offense in a way that worked. Young could still turn out to be good. But he's not as gifted as Luck and Rivers. And that's why Reich should've created a better plan for him. He knew the offensive line was bad, but threw Bryce into the shotgun over and over again watching him get killed. And just like with us, he just stood there looking confused as the games went on. I knew he was going to be the next mid-season firing. I actually thought he'd be gone before McDaniels, but that's for another day. I agree with you, the firing was warranted. Frank's offenses from last year to this year are among some of the worst in NFL history. And that's ridiculous to think about when he was tabbed as a QB whisperer and a great offensive mind. Looking at the grand picture of his entire coaching career, it really looks like Luck and Rivers succeeded because they were good QBs.
  2. And he surrounded himself with the highest paid staff in the NFL... So many minds, so little results...
  3. Very much so. Reich tried to force Young into an offense built around the types of players like Wentz and Ryan. I guess large egos never truly die when you think your way is the only way... Just incredible to look around the league and think to yourself, naw my scheme will be just fine for Young...
  4. And Tepper needs to be a regular owner who lets his staff work. What owner goes to all of the NFL draft prospects private workouts? Not even Jerry and Jim do that kind of stuff.
  5. That's fair and fine. I still don't like Tepper. Still don't think he's an honest worker. Still believe he has no clue on how to run a football team. Best thing he can do for Carolina is to literally shut up and sit back. He'll literally make millions upon millions just by doing nothing. Imagine having that kind of luxury...
  6. I painfully watched the all-22 from the Colts game on the Panthers perspective. You've read my posts from a few weeks ago on my opinion of Reich's scheme. Antiquated is the nicest I can say. I was honestly shocked at how bad his offense was by design. All go routes with lazy turnarounds to park and sit at the 1st down marker. Way too predictable and easy for even our vanilla defense to feast on. Was Reich honestly that blind that he didn't change a single thing he learned from coaching us for years? I think partially yes. But I also think Young just doesn't have an NFL level arm to open up the field. He checks down constantly. It was a perfect storm of terrible decisions that led to today.
  7. I agree. I think honestly he should just go back to seminary stuff. Religion is his true passion. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't seem to work for being an all-in head coach.
  8. Short selling for me. Not to mention that to me a lot of that financial stuff is playing with imaginary money. To each their own, but for me personally it doesn't scream honest day's work. Seems more like a calculated gambling day job.
  9. *Credit to Ash_713S of the Panthers Reddit.
  10. I can't imagine actually being upset enough to actually bother a player because of an injury they couldn't control. How moronic...
  11. Another thing: the head coach should not have to be meeting with the owner on a weekly basis. Especially to one that has no clue how football works. I remember we locally had a dentist family (very wealthy) decide that they wanted to own and run a Steak 'n Shake in our area. They had no experience with the food industry, and instead of hiring a very competent manager to run the show, they instead decided to meddle with everything. The restaurant only lasted a few years before eventually going out of business. To all you wealthy overlords out there: do yourself a favor and step back and have someone with EXPERIENCE run your little fun side project. Because unlike you, the people working in that side project are trying to make a living! This is why I dislike the wealthy, and have a negative bias towards them. They've screwed my family, my town and my very way of life all for their own selfishness. /end rant.
  12. And that alone shows me he has no moral character. His fortune is all about luck and preying on those less fortunate.
  13. Dude legit thought he could just "Jerry Jones" the Panthers and walk in and win. Screwing people - I mean hedge funding - does not equate to successfully running a football team. I'll say this about Irsay: he says a lot of stupid things, but he's usually pretty level headed and only makes a serious move when he feels it's a necessity. We now know Frank had completely lost the locker room by the time we let him go last year. It was probably one of the few times Jim made a decision based off of emotion. Tepper seems to be a spoiled brat who's not used to not getting what he wants. Throwing a tantrum in the locker room and then just firing coaches left and right is not how you build a team.
  14. You can scheme to an extent, but in the NFL it's not usually enough. You've got to have playmakers.
  15. They could've been patient, had Wilkes as the head coach with CMC, Moore and Levis. The team would've looked so much different.
  16. There are few jobs in the NFL for head coaching, so I'm sure they'll have interested candidates... But for me personally, I would not want to work with David Tepper and his impatience unless I was given a guaranteed money contract. That is a nightmare/disaster situation going on over there.
  17. This 100%. No hard feelings against him because he's a great man. I hope he finds peace.
  18. Just a troll doing troll things. I'm shocked they're even here after a win. Usually they skulk in the shadows until the next loss.
  19. As long as Murray makes him look good these last few weeks. I think Eberflus and Belichick will be fired immediately at the end of the season.
  20. And I agree with you on the fact it's not on him alone. Tepper and his GM signed off on the idea of moving up the draft and giving away their future to draft Young. A strategy that almost never works out. But I suppose Tepper isn't much of a historian of the NFL or even knows of the common pitfalls such as trading up.
  21. Also gotta say, that final play yesterday where they threw a screen on a 4th down in their own territory was probably one of the most "we give up" 4th down attempts I've seen from Frank. They might as well have just punted the ball. That play alone could've been the final straw.
  22. Yep. Bengals could use a reliable TE as well for those tough 3rd down conversions.
  23. I think that's the only reason for the change to be honest. They're desperate to win a few more games so Chicago doesn't have the #1 overall with their pick. This whole sequence could go down as one of the biggest blunders in recent NFL history. Trading away everything, including Moore to get Young.
  24. Back to back mid-season firings. Brutal.
  25. I agree 100%. It was such a Bengals thing to happen. Win the battle, yet lose the war. Imagine if the Bengals somehow tank so badly they're in the running for Malik Nabers... Chase, Nabers, Boyd next year. Unreal.
