  1. As a teacher, I’ve gotta say your writing skills are better than most of the 9th graders I teach. Keep up the great work! As for this thread, I’ll be happy to do the games if others want to chip in and do the weekly pressers and in between stuff.
  2. That's another game I have no idea about. The 49ers have way more talent in all positions except QB. But then the Bengals walked into their house and smoked 'em. The Jags seem to be the new Steelers where they find ways to win without looking particularly good doing it.
  3. You know, the AFC South teams gets a bad rap but if you look at the history, even during the Manning years there were some times where the Jags and Titans were tough teams: '98 Jaguars were division leaders (we weren't in that division yet but still) '99 Jags go 14-2 and the TItans go 13-3 (we still weren't in the division but those two teams were the top of the AFC) '00 Titans dominate at 13-3. '01 Titans and Jags fall off. '02 New division and the Titans go 11-5 to be the first AFC South champs. '03 Titans share a record of 12-4 with us, we win the head to head so we get the division championship. '04 We go 12-4, the rest fall off. '05 We have one of the best years ever at 14-2, but the Jags also went 12-4. '06 Super Bowl year for us, Titans and Jags each go 8-8. '07 We go 13-3, Jaguars again nip at the heels with an 11-5 record. '08 The Titans pass us and win the division at 13-3, while we go 12-4. '09 Near perfect season going 14-2 Super Bowl loss, Texans begin to rise and go a respectable 9-7. '10 Entire AFC South falls a bit, we go 10-6. So during all of those Manning years, our divisional opponents were playing some damn good football too. You don't just win 12-14 games without being a good team. Not as weak as some claim!
  4. Agreed! This has been one of the worst seasons of fantasy football points wise! I'm glad I'm 8-1, but everyone is snake bitten by QB injuries and bad backup QB play.
  5. Sounds like he'll be out again. I have no clue how to pick this game. What do you do? It's two extremely sucky teams who's organizations are both essentially dead on arrival.
  6. Arthur Smith should be on the hot seat after this week. Losing to Dobbs and the Vikings is Josh McDaniels level bad.
  7. Bye week is much later amigo, we’re keeping to the same schedule as the real season.
  8. I just like Will Levis. I said it. Liked him during the pre draft process when I saw some Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers traits. I saw it on display these past couple of weeks. That effortless flick of the wrist and the ball is down the sideline. Beautiful. History and odds say very few of our AFC South QBs will be successful long term. But screw the odds. It’d be cool if this group is the face of the NFL for years to come. As Coach Pagano would say, “iron sharpens iron”. Competition is good for the sport.
  9. We’re at the halfway point of the season. I’m actually surprised we’re 4-5 all things considered. What we do from now until January will bear responsibility for what happens in the off season. Our young corners continue to experience and if they show growth we might be better than some think that department.
  10. Thats a really fair argument to be honest. The debate for who’s the best in anything will always be subjective. But it’s fun to speculate, which is why people continue to do it. We as humans also tend to look over the horizon for the “next best”.
  11. It did? Am I misremembering that game for the Bengals game a week earlier?
  12. Let us not forget that some of those playoff losses with Peyton were ridiculous. The ‘05 game against the Steelers where the refs were in the Steelers pocket for the entire postseason? We had a monster team that year. Technically more talented than the Super Bowl winning team.
  13. I don't even know why I do this. I'm a masochist I guess. I'm compelled to make picks even though I know they'll be wrong. lol...
  14. It would be so fitting if we were somehow to beat the Pats so badly in Germany that Bill gets fired. Merely a year and a week after he did it to Reich.
  15. I like the way you think! 110% feel the same way.
  16. WEEK 2 COLTS @ TEXANS RICHARDSON vs. STROUD After a strange turn of events, leading to the Titans and Colts swapping their star running backs, the locker room was shocked but didn't have much time to process as it was time to fly to Houston for the 2nd divisional game on their schedule. Pittman Jr., who is also on a contract year, had this to say on the situation leading up to the game: "man we'll miss JT, but that's business. It is what it is and I hope for the best for him. That said, we've all got to do our part and be prepared for this game. I've got 5's back." The Houston crowd is loud and excited, filled with hope for their future QB. As the game begins, the two teams each exchange 3 and outs. Steichen elects to go for 3 straight passes, two of which are completed but not enough for a first down. On 3rd down the pass is incomplete to Pierce. With about 7 minutes into the 1st, the game finally starts to open up. Henry gets involved and makes a few long runs, and Richardson gets his first touchdown pass, a beautiful throw to Pittman Jr. Colts 7 Texans 0 Not to be outdone, Stroud also starts to open it up and begins to air it out. They are able to get into good field position but the drive stalls late. They punt deep into Colts territory. With the Colts backed into their own endzone, they use Henry heavily. They are able to get a first. Unfortunately the game's first mistake will happen a few plays later as Richardson makes an ill advised throw into coverage, leading to an interception. Wasting no time, the Texans use a mix of run and pass to get into the red zone. Stroud connects with Dell for a touchdown. At the end of the 1st quarter it's Colts 7 Texans 7. The 2nd quarter features heavy use of running for both teams. Henry shows his absolutely strength in getting tough yards, while Richardson use RPO to make a few runs as well. He will eventually run it in for a score, and lead another drive late in the half for a FG. The Texans struggle to get going offensively due to penalties. At the half, it's Colts 17 Texans 7. The 2nd half features big plays and moments for both teams. The Colts start out with a decent drive until a fumble by Downs gives the Texans the ball and some momentum. Stroud connects with a deep pass to Collins, followed by a Pierce touchdown run. Richardson makes plays with his legs and arm, and the Colts score with Henry. The Texans answer with a FG drive. Late in the 4th quarter it's Colts 24 Texans 17. A stalled drive by the Colts gives the Texans the ball with 5:00 left in the game. After several big conversions between Stroud and Pierce, the Texans punch it in to tie it with 1:47 left on the clock. Colts 24 Texans 24. With a chance at his first game winning drive, Richardson makes several out of the pocket throws to connect with Downs, Ogletree and Woods. In the waning seconds of the game, Richardson throws to Pittman for yet another touchdown score. Colts win! Colts 31 Texans 24
  17. I think the rivalry will continue in some form due to the history of being in the same division for years. I would love for us to beat them and finally the Steelers this year.
  18. I wasn’t sure of Demeco Ryans and Bobbly Slowik but they’re doing a fantastic job with Houston this season. They’re players coaches for sure.
  19. And we’ve already reached our win total from last year with these young players. They’re getting great experience cutting their teeth.
  20. Can’t control what the team does my man… I don’t like Gus’s scheme at all. Not even a little. But it’s what the team will be doing the rest of the way.
