Hoosiers Football!

Recommended Posts

I came here after the win Sat and was disappointed I saw no love being given. I was a walk on my freshman year (2003). My dad poked fun around week 4 and I was like, we get this kinda start like once in my lifetime. Let me enjoy the dam ride. Wouldn’t have guessed we’d made it to 7-0 with a decent shot at being undefeated going into Ohio State.

    • Unless a team is willing to give up a pick in the first three rounds (which will never happen) then no. Let him sit behind and mentor AR5 on his one-year nearly $9 million dollar deal.
    • No.  He hurt his lower leg/ankle snow boarding and it was never the same after.  Again this goes back to what I said.  His heart was never into football.  He never should have been snowboarding.  I have a friend who was killed doing that.  Why is a top NFL QB doing that in that off season?  I thought it was ridiculous.  Love the guy but just a terrible decision.
    • I cannot stand when people like you write posts like this.  I went into great detail about why I think what happened.....happened. Rightly or wrongly at least I put effort and thought into my opinion.    You?  Just lash out with zero thought or IQ behind what you say.  Just pure hyperbole.   Please tell me of another NFL player of Lucks magnitude who quit on his team a week before the season started after playing the season before and having no setbacks during the off season. (unless he went snow boarding again).    And who looked healthy and was even warming up and looked fine in the last pre season game.   No one does that.  He was mentally not all there at that point and the fact he felt the need to go out in front of the home fans and tantalize them with being healthy, after a preseason of drama concerning his health...again after he just played the entire year before?  I thought it was ridiculous and he should have been boo'd for that.  Praise him later.  But that entire thing was him being mentally weak.      I will tell you who does that.  A person who is not all there mentally.  He even admitted that later on.  He was shook.  Had no confidence.  Was worn out.  Mentally not into playing NFL football.    And looking back at it?  It goes along with what I wrote earlier. He always got by on his smarts and physical attributes.  But when it was time to truly be great?  His heart was never in it.  And again I say this as a giant Luck fan.   IMO he will look back on that decision some day and regret it bigtime.
    • FWIW:   This has always been my understanding.       Luck hurt his ankle/lower leg at the Pro Bowl.   He was ready to retire in March.  The team convinced him to give his injury time to heal.  That whether he retired in March or August made no difference because the franchise was going with Brissett to replace him, so the timing didn’t matter.      The ankle didn’t heal and Luck told the team in August he was retiring.   The news leaked out and many have been angry with Luck ever since.    There’s more to this story, but for now, this is enough.
