Is there a rule against talking to front office people. I know you can't talk to coaches or players. But a number 2 front office guy, not sure.

The Pack have a bye, so yes. Typically (though not always) teams don't let their staff (coaches or front offices) interview when they have playoff games that week. It's just a distraction. Teams have been known to do it in the instance of byes, so the Pack might. It'd be up to them, as there is no official rule.

I caught Irsay interview on 1070 (they have an app for that) and he mentioned something about it depends on if the position is a lateral or a promotion - in regards to getting permission from the team.

Anyone else hear that?

He said with a team in the playoffs you have to get permission from the team and the position being offered has to be a promotion over their current position. Same instance when he hired Polian way back. Polian was the GM at Carolina but Irsay offered him the President position to get around the rules.
