  1. Thats more an issue with restructuring contracts than extensions. Restructuring is when you push money into the future that you already agreed to pay. That’s a trick to free up money with the salary cap. Extensions are new money and are normally done to make sure you keep the player than to push money into the future.
  2. Any talk about going with Leaf ended in 99 when Manning lead the Colts to a 13-3 record and their first division title since 1987 and Ryan Leaf was bombing out of the NFL it became clear quickly Manning was special even if the team did regress in 2000 and 2001.
  3. People were abusing them and using them to troll.
  4. It’s officially been over since the day he retired IMO.
  5. I don’t think Pierce is really in position to have his voice matter when it comes to personal decisions.
  6. yeah Polian was arrogant. Ballard seems like a good person that most people like but I would also agree he’s stubborn but I think most NFL coaches and GMs are.
  7. That’s more than fair just a reminder more for people who might not have followed it that closely.
  8. Worth reminding people this is the same webpage that Destin works for and ran with the Sneed trade stuff.
  9. Saying the Texans vaulted up the rankings after one season has nothing to do with the Colts and where they stand is no way meant to say the Colts should be top five. This seems to pushing for an argument that doesn’t need to happen because the other side wasn’t saying that about the Colts.
  10. yes clearly it’s my opinion, again that’s now message boards work. You are literally the only Colts fan I have ever heard complain about winning Super Bowl XLI. i was also in a stadium full of fans celebrating that Super Bowl win the day after and saw a lot more lining the parade route. You know what I didn’t see? Fans complaining that it was a “fluke win” so yeah I stand by my statement. With that said you are entitled to your opinion no matter how head scratching it might be.
  11. Too me it’s the all or nothing thinking that I think is a larger picture of society today and isn’t good but that’s a debate for elsewhere but for the most part people tend to think if you don’t 100% agree with me that means you have the 100% opposite view point of me and one of us must be right and one must be wrong. Not everyone does but I think a lot do it at least some of the time. It happens. I think we all, myself included, could do a better job trying to remember that and trying to avoid falling into that line of thinking.
  12. If the Colts won the Super Bowl yeah I would be happy regardless of how they did it, even if it was a fluke win. As would about 99.9% of fans of the team.
  13. As a Colts fan anytime New England loses it’s a good day. Anytime the Colts beat them it’s a great day.
  14. Who said you are realistic? Personally I think you lost that credibility when you said last season wasn’t enjoyable. Yeah I know you disagree and that’s fine but that doesn’t make you realistic and me or anyone else is unrealistic. That points to my point before with all or nothing thinking. If someone suggests last season was enjoyable given the circumstances and was a heck of lot more enjoyable than the season before it which was boarder line unwatchable at times that is actually a very realistic opinion. Most of those same people also say there is still room for improvement which is also realistic. Also, yeah most fans of something are positive. That alone doesn’t make them unrealistic. That’s what fans do. They see the positives in things they like. This whole idea that you have to only focus on negatives of something you “cheer for” to be a realistic fan of it defies all logic. Yet that’s what some seem to think. As for fans responding to you to disagree with you. Yeah welcome to a message board. That’s what happens people post opinions and others respond. I could easily say man anytime I don’t say something negative about my team others just respond to disagree. It goes both ways. Not everyone is going to agree on things and again that’s okay. This place would be extremely boring and serve no point if we all shared the same view point. That’s exactly what some who feel picked on because they say negative things have been saying the past few days and they are right. They are entitled to their opinions and not to be attacked for it just because it’s not positive. By the same token so are people who see things in a positive light and no that alone doesn’t make them unrealistic. Unrealistic would be expecting the Colts to win every game by 50 points and win 10 Super Bowls straight with Richardson or any QB.
  15. I can think of a few.. They could take a kicker or punter at 15 They could pass and miss their pick. They could draft a guy from a different sport. They could draft a guy who projected to go undrafted. They could draft Curtis Painter The could trade the Pick, next years first and AR for Kenny Pickett. So there are lots of things they COULD do that could be worse.
  16. Yeah last year was a scrappy team that had a disappointing ending but a fun ride,
  17. I think some are confusing people not seeing the world the way they do as people insulting them and attacking them. People disagreeing with you and explaining why isn’t attacking someone. That’s not to say there hasn’t been attacking going on in this thread. There has been. I also think people are getting stuck on all or nothing thinking meaning if you don’t think something sucks completely it means you love it and vice versa.
  18. The Texans were literally the worst team in the league before last year if it hadn’t been for a Hail Mary vs the Colts. Like Superman said and I agree with he had some major hits last year and it vaulted them way up the charts.
  19. Which is way more than undrafted free agents that even make final rosters let alone second contracts.
  20. It is but the success rate of higher draft picks is much higher than undrafted free agents. Saturday was an exception and a GREAT find by Polian.
  21. proof people get caught in the what have you done lately narrative. Not saying the Texans don’t deserve credit, they do, but yeah that seems a bit over rated to me based on one season.
